Me- have read the whole manga , know what was in the book, know the whole story and samelessly waiting for volume 10 đ đ
no hate about the animation at all but I would honestly choose the manga over it, I'm glad that it's still faithful to the series as a whole and is the main reason why I actually knew sasaki and miyano but there's really something more about how the manga shows the story (especially if you look how much the author has improved not just in the ssmy manga but also the hrkg one as well!)
I honestly also watched this video because I don't really think that the movie will air outside japan due to the series not really as big as other animated films that will also air at the same time ("Suzume" also being an example of this)
but all in all thank you for making this video for us! and wish you the best and success you need in your career (coming from someone who is still thinking if they should choose to study filming or not)

I actually really agree with you. I think the anime adaptation is nice, but there's something more... I don't know how to say it, but maybe fluffy? about the Manga. And I think a big reason for that is the way they chose to adapt those fluffy, heart pounding scenes. I feel like I could write a whole paper on this topic (lol) and I know there is a lot of scholarship on the Japanese side about this stuff, but there's a reason those heart pounding, fluffy scenes in the Manga are absent of lots of drawings and screentone. It definitely has roots in Shojo manga history. (And off the top of my head I definitely remember Takano scolding Ritsu about needing to learn more about this in Sekaiichi Hatsukoi!)
I have a feeling it'll still make it overseas to Crunchyroll or something, but I don't think it'll have the same impact as Given's movie did.

gosh! 100% agree with all you said. like it didnt't sink in me until you literally said all those geometric patterns. when i was watching the series, just said, what are these staffs? but anyways, didn't really mind it. not until you said it this way. by the way! i'm interested with your documentary and stuffs! i'm a big BL fan (turned last year) and i'm actually looking forward to meet some BL fan here in Japan

How much chapter did the movie cover

The movie was only about an hour long, so I felt it only covered 4 or 5 chapters for Sasaki and Miyano. To me, it felt very short đ and for Hirano and Kagiura it only covered one chapter

Did they just animate the 7th volume
Also they might not be able to make another for a while because there are only 9 mangas and will be a tenth one in may but they animated the first sixth and if they animated the 7th thatâs already 7 of 9 mangas animated and the 8th manga is short because there is a lot of extras, so they donât have much to animate so thatâs probably why they might not do another.
How long is the movie in timing and which theater in Japan and what city in Japan?
