      Unfortunately that is the wrong switch - you need a “normally-closed” switch and this one is normally-open. It is a perfect fit though.

      @@Rexxthespecialist hi! I ordered the one from the amazon link you updated and it's normally open. If somebody use this one it will work backwards (when the lid is open it will be detected as closed and viceversa). The right switch needs to be nornally closed. Im currently looking for the right one. Thanks for the video thought. I wish i could have fixed the original one but unfortunately I broke it by accident while unmount it.

    Great video, got my mine back up and running. I was able to find a replacement switch on Amazon that had 3 prongs. You just use the COM and NC and leave the NO unused. It was the uxcell 2PCS KW3-OZ 16A 125/250VAC. It comes in a two pack so you have an extra if it happens again. It had same micro chip makers name as the original one did.

    The switch was horrible. Replaced it with a rocker on-off switch which now made it a manual open and close switch. Mounted the rocker switch on the back by modifying the plastic. The springs dis-lodged and were a pain to get set back in but eventually got it. It now works perfect!

    • @Rexxthespecialist

      I did fix my switch by bending some tabs (inside the switch )in the metal legs (The one melted down specially) and close it and tie around with wire, and is been great since then.
      But your idea is pretty clever 👍🏼

Took longer than the whole disassemble and reassemble lol. Found a green replacement part on amazon for 3 dollars. • @Rexxthespecialist
      @Rexxthespecialist  Před 4 měsíci +4

      I believe because the amount of current traveling through the circuit and is a good way for the manufacture to limit the life of the product so you need to buy a new one, since in my opinion is a good product (but they need to make money).
      The switch (KW3-OZ) is user friendly (fixable) if you opened since is not sealed.
      Or you can buy a new one
      (is super cheap)
      Now you need to be careful if you open the switch cuz if the internal parts come out of the enclosure is difficult to figure out how to put it back together (it happens to me but since I recorded I was able to get it back together)
      I hope this info helps you.

      In order to reassemble without having hard time with the springs you need to attach everything with the lid wide open while you try to attach the screws, otherwise you will be battling the springs making almost impossible to put it back together.
