i feel like this guy is trying to have an off the grid option somewhat but still be modernized. Doesn't quite hit the mark in either respect. he could've bought an apartment for that monthly money or built an awesome little shack in the woods for the up front and reno costs.

That is a lot if money and manpower for something you do not own. The manager may not care but I am sure the city building department would. One visit from a city inspector and you can start adding daily fines for every day all that stuff is still in there. Nice setup but foolish investment
