    Drinking game, gulp a beer every time he turns and looks back at the camera. 12 pack is not enough.
    Gonna be a cool pad. Excited to see the rest of these episodes. Thank you for making.

    Started this series probably eight episodes in. I got somewhere in the twenties (kitchen cabinets) and then viewed this one. I have loved this series. You are answering a ton of questions I have. I also live in Indiana and have two bin pads on a piece of property we are currently building on. Many told us to break them up and bury them, but I would rather build something on them. Ours are ~34' wide. I know of a silo that the owner wants to get rid of that would fit the pad, but I am also mulling the idea of using ICFs and making a crenellated castle tower to B&B out. Thanks for putting this together.

      @@blueroomoutdoormedia5630 It may be a good year or two before we tackle that. We have to finish building our primary home first (and all the stuff that follows building a house *sigh*). We're on the other side of the Indy dial from you in the Boone county area. I may reach out when the time comes, but for now, your videos are a good source of inspiration (maybe too good. I need to remind myself that it is not as easy as the time lapsed video makes it look).

    I am so happy I found your videos! My husband is a farmer and rancher here in Colorado and we have both an 18' and a 12' grain bin we haven't used in decades. I am wanting to turn the 18' into a she-shed for my crafting business. I have a laser and have outgrown my 10x10 craft room inside the house. I was all set to order a 16x24 wood shed (like a Tuff Shed) that was going to cost $16,000 for just the shed. These grain bins are obviously free and I'm wondering if I'll be money ahead fixing up a grain bin for my she shed instead of getting a wood one? I didn't see a way to contact you, so I'm leaving this comment hoping you see it. I am wanting to have sign making classes in it as well for 6-10 women at a time and feel this grain bin idea is a unique one! Thank you for your time!

      You would prob have more usable space in the 16x24 shed... But definitely wouldnt be as unique. You could probably finish off the 18 ft bin for less than $10k if you did work yourself.

    Amazing job you’ve done! Did you have to get plans approved by your county? I’m looking to do this in a 48’ diameter grain bin, and I’m trying to figure out the best way to go from concept drawings to approved construction drawings. Any advice you can give on the planning/approval aspects of your project would be super helpful. Thank you!

      Every state, county, and municipality will have differing guidelines and requirements. But yes you will need drawings of some sort to apply for permitting. Just check with the town or county you live in for what necessary drawings you need.

    Love that I found this! Where in Indiana are you? We just purchased 2 - 27' diameter bins near Marion, In. Any suggestions on who could help me disassemble and move them for me?

      I dont know of anyone that specializes in disassembling and moving them. We were foetunate to have an existing one. 27ft diameter is a great size where you should be able to fit all you need inside of it. Are you building them seperate or joining them together?

      @@myadaily-haddix2851 I made my own floor plan. But I do know there are preset floor plans out there for all diameter bins. Pintrest has a lot. 27 ft.. You should able to have nice small kitchen with small island, bathroom, living room, and small bedroom on main level... With a nice loft space above that you could add another bathroom upstairs if needed.

    Really enjoy your videos! We are in east central Indiana. We have a couple of grain bins-wanting to repurpose into He Shed, She-Shed. Wanting to learn more about the process. Do you do this type of construction, or know someone that does? Would love to discuss.

    • @blueroomoutdoormedia5630

      You think I need a foundation for the building even if I have all the plumbing in a foundation?

    • @blueroomoutdoormedia5630
      @blueroomoutdoormedia5630  Před 2 lety

      Is this an existing grain bin on a current foundation? Or are you moving one and reassembling? If it is an existing one on a foundation you wont need a new foundation... But if a new location then yes you need a foundation. If its a new foundation it will be easier to rough in your plumbing under it before pouring. If it is an existing you will probably need to cut up concrete and rough in plumbing and pout back..

    • @sashaclifton3489
      @sashaclifton3489 Před 2 lety

      It’s an existing grain bin on concrete for sure. I’m not sure, yet, if there is a 4’ foundation. I’ve been told it’s just a “slab of concrete poured on top of grass.”
      So, I gotta see what’s really going on under there.
      But I guess my question is, IF it is just a slab, can I just insulate it, put floor heat in and then frame the floor? If that’s the case, I would dig a smaller foundation for pluming and incorporate one of the very small bins into the plan… attach that with the foundation and have maybe a small bath in there… not sure…
