    Wow. How arrogant. I'm single, 53 and will have a $4500/mo pension in 3 years. No mortgage, no debt. $4500 is more than enough and I don't eat ramen or deny myself things and I live in Napa California.

      How when places go up to 5k there you must not be downtown and no kids like he said

    • @cmvox7132
      @cmvox7132 Před rokem

      agreed. His basic message is if you don't have far more than a million dollars, you should just 'eat ramen and die'. Statistically, only about 10% have a million right now when they retire. The average peson has far less. So this guy's response is 'eat ramen and die' ... OR... Hire me and I'll help you be rich and worthy. Riiiiiiiight..... This is fear mongering, plain and simple.

      I agree. My wife and I spend on avg. $2000 a month. All cars and home are paid for..no credit card debt. My pension and social security will be $4500+. We live happily within our means.

    Very arrogant, “I lived on $4000 per month 20 years ago”. I’m retired military and I live on $4000 per month with no problems. Maybe I’m just used to knowing how to live low class I guess.

    • @moneyripplespodcast
      @moneyripplespodcast Před rokem +1

      @Curtis, that's great you can live on $4k per month. I live in the western US, and I have 8 kids, which even made my dream of retiring on $5000 per month become poverty level with that size of family.

  • @etagrats1
    @etagrats1 Před 2 měsíci +2

    I easily live on far less than $4000 a month from my pension, Before you retire, pay off debt. become financially independent.

    • @moneyrippleswithchrismiles
      @moneyrippleswithchrismiles  Před 2 měsíci

      It's great that you can do that and I agree paying off debt before retiring is important, but $4K a month is still very little for most people, especially if you want to have the same quality of life finance-wise you had pre-retirement.

      @@moneyrippleswithchrismiles It also depends on part of the country you live in. Texas Im good but California no way

  • @ariefraiser140
    @ariefraiser140 Před rokem +7

    Lol....Most quality financial channels don't first torpedoe their audiance by insulting their budget. It's so arrogant and ignorant at the same time to think because I can't live happily on x amount then obviously no one else can.

    • @moneyripplespodcast
      @moneyripplespodcast Před rokem

      @Arie, that's true. Not my proudest moment in hindsight. I came out a bit condescending with that first point of "Eat Ramen and die." Although it's tough to live on $4000 a month as a family (single is easier), it's not impossible.

  • @larriveeman

      Good for you. This isn't the case for a lot of people, especially younger ones with bigger mortgage payments.

    Arrogant. Condescending.
    Real estate is just as much of a risk. I'll blame it on this youth. Do your own research. Don't listen to these talking heads.

    • @moneyripplespodcast
      @moneyripplespodcast Před rokem

      I'll take that "youth" remark as a compliment since I will turn 46 this year.
      And real estate IS risky... if you don't know what you're doing. But history has proven that even if you don't know what you're doing, you have better odds than gambling your money in a stock market where there are many more historical losses.

    Way too much extra nonsense talking without arriving at the main point of your presentation. Dude, if you want to get a huge audience, your best shot is to stop adding so much extra not-related talkie-talkie and get to the point asap.
