  • The SU 76M is a light Self Propelled gun on the lengthened T 70 Chassis. It has the 76mm M1942 Divisional Gun as armament, also known as the ZIS 3. The original version of the SU 76 had problems with its side by side engine arrangement, and it was changed to a tandem arrangement in 1943. The SU 76 was the second most produced armored vehicle from Russia in World War II with over 13000 being produced.
This model kit is quite old, and it shows. Maquette kits are OK though, like I said the Pzkw 38(t) I built was pretty good, it had a nice interior as well, even though it is a lot newer than this one. It will need some work but it is a cheap kit, so I do not expect all that much, unlike some other companies I know that charge a lot more for kits that are worse than this one. (Revell for instance).
People say you get what you pay for, but unfortunately, that is not always true. The 10 to 15 dollar range that these kits used to run was a good price for them, they are sometimes missing detail, but the molding and fit is Ok, so it can be made into something. But paying 60-80 Euros for a kit that doesn't fit together well and has some major molding problems, (Revell 747) I find to be really bad business. Revell really needs to get their act together, they are supposed to be a good model Company, and they do have some good kits. But its always a roll of the dice with their kits. At least when you buy a cheap model, you don't expect all that much out of it, and as long as the parts fit, it can work.
