  • Breaking News: A Taylor Swift deepfake video with AI audio is going around on Facebook and Instagram in ads claiming that she's giving away $10,000 in different $1,000 Visa gift cards as part of some giveaway. Naturally, the truth is that this is all fake, seeing as I already said it was a deepfake video with AI audio. Taylor Swift is never going to give away a bunch of Visa gift cards to people like this. Any promises of free and easy money are almost always scams.
The catch with this scam is something I reveal in my video. I talk about how this scam goes from the ad to a website to a final website. It's a hidden subscription scam, meaning that there are hidden fees that will recur monthly, totaling hundreds of dollars, which they will not tell you about before you make a purchase. I believe the people behind the scam are located in the U.S. Let's hope they get found out one day.
Another big part of my video is the fact that Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, continues to allow scam ads, meaning that they are accepting money from scammers to help their scams thrive. Without Meta, some of those scammers running ads currently on Facebook and Instagram would not have the success with their scams that they've been having. That is just plain as day. The reason why Meta accepts money from scammers is because it's money. All Meta has to do if Mark Zuckerberg or some other executive is ever brought before Congress again is say that they have a report button, that they have a lot of automatic processes set up, and that some ads are manually reviewed.
But of course, that doesn't matter if the scams are still happening. It's not your job as a consumer to hit a report button to let Meta know that they accepted money from criminals. How in the world that is normal, I will never understand. Also, you may be aware that if you report content on Meta, they will often send you back a response saying that they did not remove the offending content because they did not see the same policy-breaking violations that you saw, even though it was an obvious scam ad. Other ad networks do the same thing. Basically, advertising networks are getting away with murder these days and no one is big enough to stop them because the ad networks make so much money.
I wouldn't be surprised-here comes a conspiracy theory-if members of Congress were lobbied with money from certain ad networks in order to not pass any new rules or legislation that would hurt said ad networks. Please like my video, comment, and subscribe. I hope the Swifties enjoyed this video.
