    A fretless gourd banjo is the bridge connecting the West African akonting with the Appalachian mountain banjo.

    Excellent! Fairly bright sound for a gourdy. I mess with cordage, too. Trying to use day lily leaves now. Not durable but easy to practice with.

    I've made a few cigar box and tin container instruments, and have been thinking about a gourd resonated instrument and fortunately my father in law grows mamy gourds. Thanks fir the inspiration.

    I've been looking for a bottle gourd to make one of these for a while. I built another gourd bank from a kit, but really want a bottle shaped one too. Beautiful sound.

      Shaking the tomato plants actually give it more tomatoes old myth here says a banjo playing near tomato plants always gives it more tomatoes probably something about the vibrations since they are self pollinators so it probably really is a science or something

    • @bengreco
      @bengreco  Před rokem +1

      @@Young.Nova.Native actually the flowers self pollinate so shaking the plant actually could pollinate more flowers and bring more tomatoes so I guess I should play by the tomatoes more often
