    Taking out Guardian Project because we're *adding* creatures seems like a mistake. Also, it doesn't care about creature types so "mutant synergy" doesn't matter.

    • @PipGoblinBattleCaster
      @PipGoblinBattleCaster  Před 6 měsíci +2

      You’re probably right, I did misread it I thought it was creature type not name. I still don’t love 4 mana draw a card for each creature you resolve, but it is probably decent in the cheaper versions I have here. I’d be more keen to play it if I was trying to cast a bunch of 1 or 2 drop creatures as the game plan.

    I didn't see it in the video unless I missed it but another good card I added in when I got the deck was Experiment Kraj he has all activated abilities of creatures with +1+1 counters on them and he can tap to give out counters. He is also very cheap at only 26 cents. I also use The Master as my main commander so when I get him out I can steal 2 creatures from graveyards per turn.

    I've been thinking about making this my zombie tokens commander, but I'm torn between this and Sidisi. Having a way to generate tokens in the command zone is super nice, but so is having almost a boardwide buff in the command zone, then using cards like Mesmeric Orb, Altar of the Brood, Mindcrank, the cards that mill off of me drawing, and then having a huge board state to swing in.

    • @PipGoblinBattleCaster
      @PipGoblinBattleCaster  Před 5 měsíci

      I do like Sidisi as well but then you'd really need to build in something to do with all of those 2/2's. Which isn't hard too hard. I enjoy the fallout games and like the flavor of the rad counters alot so I'd probably go with this but there are a ton of fun synergies with sidisi. Maybe I'll take a crack at putting together a version of that after I go through all these fallout decks.

    I'm partial to Far Wanderings over Kodama's Reach, just because you will likely mill yourself and have 7 or more cards in your graveyard. Its fairly easy to stack your graveyard with this deck, and its the same cost as kodama's but you get 3 basics in play tapped instead.

    Tezzeret's gambit replaced harmonize, then i also added birds of paradise, muldrotha... but my big sleeper card is Retribution of the Ancients to turn those excess +1 counters into removal, keeping my threat level low(er) when I need to play more control. Syr Konrad is also a must for milling strategies.

    • @PipGoblinBattleCaster
      @PipGoblinBattleCaster  Před 5 měsíci

      Love the retribution addition, great idea! I may give that a try. Im trying a version that is way more focused on proliferate now, and often have excess counters floating around I wouldnt mind leverage into board control.

    I am unsure that it matters, but you did mention you do not like adding infinite combos. Then you added the infinite combo cards right next to one another lol. Maybe you missed it but Mindcrank and Bloodchief's Ascension go infinite off one another. I suppose technically Bloodchief is a 'may' ability, so you can opt to not use the combo, but I thought it was funny enough to point out.

      @@Riddl3z_ I did realize that lol and thought they both work well enough on their own to include both. Iv not sought them out in combination in any recent games but if it happens by chance it’s fine, just not the main goal of the deck.

    Somthing of note that i hadnt seen anyone comment about. While i see your going for poliferation theme to proliferate rad counters it should be noted that you are actually proliferating the player. So this means that it will proliferate rad poison experience any counter the player currently has on you cant pick and choose.

    • @PipGoblinBattleCaster
      @PipGoblinBattleCaster  Před 5 měsíci

      Thats true, and I have a few ways to add poison as well. I've not seen many people playing experience counters at my tables so hopefully that never bites me in the butt.

    What’s you’re thoughts on adding “Bruvac The Grandiloquent” to the 99? I added it to the deck and getting that double mill so you can trigger moth more often and just having more mill is always nice, amazing video btw!

    • @PipGoblinBattleCaster
      @PipGoblinBattleCaster  Před 6 měsíci +2

      I think it’s a great idea and I might consider it myself, with rad counters it would double up but makes it a lot more likely they’ll lose them all each mill. Which would make it tougher to proliferate them each turn since you’d need to reapply but I think casting him once you have some built up would be naaaaasty!

      Hey, hit me up on discord and we can chat Pip, Goblin Battle Caster. Proliferating rad counters is fun and unique way to win so for me it was a pretty obvious choice :)

  • @bumblebflame99
    @bumblebflame99 Před 5 měsíci

    One counterpoint and three notes.
    First note, Mothman is not a mill deck. It's a rad counter deck. You need to stop thinking about this as "I put my opponent's deck into their graveyard." Because chances are, you're gonna kill them before they dump 99 cards out of their libraries. Rad counters directly translates into damage. If they have 10 rads, that's 10 guaranteed damage... eventually. They can't lose those counters without taking damage.
    I think the fatman launcher is actually a really solid choice despite it being asymmetrical. On curve, you can make mothman into a 7/3 flyer with intimidate, and that's ignoring the likelihood of nonland mills; otherwise, he could be an 11/8. This is a massive threat to anyone who's playing a lot of cards per turn. Since it's an "on declare" effect, your opponents will have to decide to deal with him before combat, and you should have enough mana to requip to a different creature; potentially preventing someone from taking 11 commander, plus 1 guaranteed rad damage and any subsequent 2 damage from casting spells. Devastating on combo and white weenie players. Do not underestimate the fatman. Try it out and see how it makes your opponents perform: it's a scary threat.
    Note number 2: alter of the brood is busted in this deck. I got a million of them from Tarkir and kept them because they were a bulk card. Now, they're pricey. But for 1 mana, you'll be milling every opponent for 1 per permanent that enters your field. Yes, including lands. It's also really annoying for your opponents, and they'll likely blow a 3 or 4 mana spell to remove it. But you'll likely have milled 6 to 7 cards by then. If you can keep it in time for mothman, your board will likely be filled with at least 5/5s. And since it's ETB, mothman could get an on ETB second ability trigger, buffing your board.
    Last note: ADD TITAN'S NEST. The worst part about TN is that it has the same mana cost as mothman. Apart from that, it's insane. Really easy to get you value if you play it off curve. Upkeep, you have surveil 1 before you draw, and unless it's a power card, you should probably dump it into your graveyard. Since you should really only have the X draw spell, you've got an insane mana generator as you're likely to be getting a fair amount of rads on yourself. Everytime I get this one on the board, I'm netting 15 mana before anyone removes it. And it's in that category of enchantment/artifacts that have a sneak value. So people don't like to spend mana and a spell on removing it. They'd rather blow up your inexorable tide or propaganda/struggle for project purity than hit your enchantment that doesn't affect them. Plus, the card is like 50 cents. Amazing

    • @PipGoblinBattleCaster
      @PipGoblinBattleCaster  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Thanks for taking the time! I made this video shortly after getting the deck so I hadn't had a good chance to get the feel of it. I've since shifted to a more landfall/ proliferate strategy that is trying to grow rad counters and 1/1 counters and it works much better than a mill centric version. The little bit of mill synergies it utilizes more revolve around pulling stuff from graveyards and using everyones GY as a resource to further plan a (dmg). I opted not to go for the alter because of it's current price but im going to keep an eye on it and grab one when it levels out. Gonna scoop up a Titan's nest and see how that plays out, thanks for the cool idea!
      Here is the link to the version im currently running and enjoying. The land fall ramp package + eternity vessel allows me to refuel at instant speed. www.moxfield.com/decks/Sa2lHnPy8U2x8aUJrdnW8A

    • @PipGoblinBattleCaster
      @PipGoblinBattleCaster  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Fair question! I think adding some would be a good idea, but thats a delicate balance so as not to over do it so they arent dead cards if no one has recursion. A few cards that also double in other roles would be nice, or a bojuka bog. The cards that pull from other players graveyards are meant to serve that role a little but wouldnt be enough if they are dedicated recursion.
