It supposed to be ARC but give a try it might work. Attach it to tv and turn on tv ARC function and in sound settings select external speakers . Best of luck

First check if your DVD support ARC HDMI.. If both TV and DVD support ARC HDMI then just connect them using a good quality HDMI cable...it will work and don't forget to change settings on tv
This happens while using CZcams or Netflix?? Some apps use proper surround system so back speakers will only active when voice will come from background otherwise only front speakers will be used
How to connect with projector? I used HDMI connection laptop to the projector for the display but i am facing issue with the sound ..i couldn't not make out the sound

Redmi 5x have eARC support so HD audio will work superb with this Sony home theater model. For laptop i don't think it support ARC channel
