    We are currently trying to decide between a sand boa and a rosy boa for our 10 year old son. This video is certainly helping the sand boa slowly move into 1st place. Thanks.

      I’ve never worked with rosys but im biased towards sand boas! Just make sure to go through a reputable breeder and be prepared to help your son with the care! A snake for him is a snake for you. They can be so rewarding 💙🐍

      @@zareptiles Thanks for the extra advice 🙂 We will definitely be very hands on with the snake as even though it will be a new friend for my son it will definitely be part of the family. I'm just trying to do as much research as possible to see what I'm going to be happy and comfortable handling since I will definitely have to be involved alot hence why I'm look towards smaller snakes 😅 As for breeders, I will definitely look into them as much as possible to see their history. Again thank you. Also I just subscribed there 🙂

      @@leeskeery it sounds like you guys are on the right track and doing a great job preparing for your new friend! Thank you for the subscribe! 🥰 I do have a Kenyan sand boa care guide on my channel - it’s a couple years old now but you might find some helpful information there! 😁

    Idk if anyone's looking, but my 2 are in 18x18x18 Trixie brand. It's perfect size, and def cheapest I found. Mine are babies, and I can tell they're exploring at night and climb on the objects I put in. ❤

      I’ve never heard of Trixie! I’ll have to look into itn

      @zareptiles I get them on Chewy, the quality is really great and just as good if not better than the big name brands. Other brands are 199.00 for that same size.

      @Kellz58 Před 2 měsíci

      I also meant to say, they're 99.00! I love Chewy, fast shipping and I never had a broken item!

      @@zareptiles I know a woman who kept two Sand boas together for four years, came home from work one day and one was eating the other one so be careful if you’re keeping them together.

    • @zareptiles
      @zareptiles  Před měsícem +1

      @@maremuse I don’t think anyone here is keeping them together! Cohabitation is risky business if done incorrectly! I think you may have mistaken this comment for cohabbing! I believe she just meant that both of her boas are in this brand enclosure, not that they are in one together! :)

    I used to hate Kenyan sand boas because I thought they looked so goofy, but they’ve been growing on me lol

    I thinking of getting a male for a 20 gal long as my first snake and I’m almost convinced but is there any more species that can live in a 20 gal long?
