    I was running this saw for about 2 hours at about a 30-50% duty cycle czcams.com/users/postUgkxfQm1wmg0ItKDLavxj1nXtQY9HP7EF504 and it did a great job. I used the lever for the built in sharpener to clear chip buildup out more than to actually sharpen the chain. It managed to cut some hardwood stumps much larger than it's size without bothering the neighbors with hours of 2 stroke noise.

    Start your hand at the head of the axe and as you swing slide your hand down the shaft and grip before impact. Awesome work!

    You did a nice job, I'm curious about why you use such a short bar length? Most tree fallers in the US and Canada use at least 28 inch bars. I'm just curious that's all

    • @chris.kiser86
      @chris.kiser86 Před 5 lety

      Ive never needed a bar bigger the a 20in and ive cut some trees thatvare 5 or 6ft at the base.

    • @hobbyoftheday4017
      @hobbyoftheday4017 Před 5 lety

      @@chris.kiser86 I see that shows alot of skill I guess, but with a 70 cc saw it just seems like it would really shine with a 25 or even 28 inch bar IMHO

    • @hobbyoftheday4017
      @hobbyoftheday4017 Před 5 lety

      Ok in my internet wandering I think I see the difference in bar length from US/CAN vs Europe. Timber cutters over here walk on top of the tree they just cut down to limb it, so they use longer bars to reach the limbs. I think that is the difference, I'm not a timber cutter just an enthusiastic firewood seller. Stay safe it the woods 👍

    • @jeffreymccarty1388
      @jeffreymccarty1388 Před 4 lety +1

      Man you get a TON of chain speed running a 20 or 24 inch bar on a saw that can pull a 28 or 32 incher.. braaaap...nasty

    • @zdenek3010
      @zdenek3010 Před 4 lety +2

      You americans thinking that anything bigger is better. Everything is a compromise. Higher bar lenght might be needed sometimes (eventhough we hardly ever use it) but you lose chain speed and overall speed of cutting by that. It's better to fell bigger trees with proper technique without the need of bigger bar and still achieve amazing speed and performance of work. The same with limbing. Eventhough it might be easier to reach limbs with longer bar, you move the weight to a bar and that just creates different strains on your body.

    • @b72james45
      @b72james45 Před 4 lety +2

      it’s called a letter box cut here in uk it’s for when the tree is more then 2 bar lengths and it’s only job is to cut the hart wood you do not do more then 20% of the hinge we use it for all hardwoods here have used it on very large oak and walnut trees all over 5 feet in width it is a very safe way to fell it also lets you do a hinge reduction if you have a thick canopy and have no way of felling clean without a hang up
