Its a hard line if you wanna include those weird atari games/other super limited releases or if only games actually marketed to the masses count. I feel like if its true retro we should give it the time of day as a rare item but technically i could make a game tomorrow and only print 1 of them and make it rare just to make money. So it's cool when it's a legit thing that couldnt possibly have been made for that purpose

So true. So much of it back then was the wild west and it's hard to differentiate what "counts". But also everything we "count" as game collectors is pretty arbitrary

Every video game including Atari do account as one of the rarest games those are the type of games that were release after Atari lost so much money around 1983 or after for every game company's and publishers at that time making crappy games didn't sold well or they only made few copies.
