Great video vlog! Found you from Col's place. As for the Euro beers.. I don't think people will complain if they are 2-2.50 Euros but this really comes down to how management of each place price their drinks and food to cover their outgoings and overheads as well as balancing the cost of hiring staff. From my perspective, I happily tip a little bit at the end of a session if I know it's going to help the staff out a little and if I have enjoyed the place, but you are right, it's sadly a serious talking point about fair wages and cost of living.
South Tenerife has always seemed balanced and in control, but if greed and property prices rise it will force higher rates, higher prices and encourage customers to go all inclusive…Or not at all. Your trip to San Antonio Bay Ibiza showed the empty state of bars and closed restaurants in what was once a great, very busy family resort.
It's definitely a valid point but the prices now for going on holiday wow jet 2 really hammer me as a solo traveller but I think maybe a island tax say ten euro are a minimum 2 euro pint
Yes I noticed the prices for Tenerife had gone up. We're going to Mallorca and expect to pay the tourist tax. The Canaries should do the same. I would only go to Tenerife for winter sun. But Mallorca beats it hands down! 😀👍
Hola Kevin enjoying your tenerife videos are you going to majorca any time this year ill be there in a few weeks time there's some great places to visit like alcudia magaluf palma nova it's one of my favourite places to visit have fun x😂
Kevin My opinion is that 1 euro beers are not beer anyway, they are fizzy larger, but agree totally with your suggestion prices should rise so the workers get more pay. The problem is without increasing the minimum wage all that would is put more money in the owners / governments pocket.
Sooo. put the prices up pay people more.... I have had 3 wage rises since 2022 and feel no benefit WHY because all they have done is increase prices to match wage increases and so it goes on.....
Maybe we should ask for pay cut and get prices down, but that would never happen so to get more money everything has to go up. It’s just a vicious circle
Too true...A pint in ireland is e6 when will it be e10 5yrs or so nearly 70% rise do you think my wage will go up this much in 5 years I think not@@johnfisher7587
I wouldn't buy a euro beer in Tenerife, nor would I buy a 10 euro beer in Dublin. Prices in the UK cities are crazy so I just stay in a cook my own much better food actually than most of the city restaurants serve. And that includes so called fine dining restaurants. My advice. Join a decent wine club where you can buy top quality wine at a reasonable price and learn how to cook.
@@mathewnavarro2612I know, and so do I. I just don't buy 1 euro beers as in my limited experience they are not very good. I would rather pay €3 to €3.50 for a decent pint.

😂😂😂😂you cook better food than restaurants including fine dining, yeah right loner😂😂
I dont think many people would grudge folk getting a better wage, however there are a lot of business owners who will be greedy and not give staff what they should get, happens everywhere unfortunately. Another great vlog tho Kevin
Think it's the same everywhere people's wages aren't going up to cover everything going up definitely think it's should go up a bit more because don't now how they do a euro beer Kevin ❤❤
@@ScotsmaninTenerife and stop all inclusive that might well help I think the bulk of people do Tenerife on a budget mostly over 45/50 . The price of getting there and accommodation is now pushing it , I’d say book early if you want good flight times as that’s what rockets
We are regulars to to teneriffe and lanzarote and yes we go all inclusive but the hotel is a base on average we spend €150 to €200 per day outside of the hotel just for the 2 of us I can't imagine the cost of a large family on holiday no being all inc !! the all inc option has always been there so I dont think it's a problem the bars are always full day or night time
We stay in Las Americas and never bought a €1 beer i prefer bottles,i think the food and drink in restaurants needs to stay reasonably priced as the cost to stay in hotels around the area is very expensive now, people will go to other countries.
The hours that a lot of the workers do in bars is ridiculous. To have to rely on tips isn’t good enough. I’m the last of the big drinkers so the price of a drink is irrelevant. Well done to you Kevin for raising this. You are brilliant and your best is good enough.💕😊💕
My understanding of it is increasing the prices increases the cost of living as locals also have to pay the extra, and increasing wages can also impact negatively on inflation, which can also result in increased prices... so I don't think by simply increasing the prices for tourists the cost of living for locals will go down. Indeed it could actually have the opposite effect and also lead to fewer tourists in the long term.
It was €1 Euro a pint because the beer was very near its use by date. It would have been poured down the drain if it wasn't sold. Possibly over ordering by the supplier? I don't know.
Moral of the story if you want cheap lager in Spain go to a locals bar and buy bottles of lager .i should know lived in Spain for 4 years inland of Alicante also learned the lingo it goes a long way .with respect of the language if you decide to move there .
Agree 9.99 euro for 3 courses are far too cheap, along with 1 euro pints 2.50 /3 euro would make slightly more and pay staff more to help cost living caused by mass tourism.. It would possibly also help image of the tourist areas. This is still very cheap for tourists a pint in UK £4 3 course meal £25/30 for a cheap meal if your lucky.
Hi Kev,no disrespect to yourself and your wonderful tenerife videos,i love watching you out and about in tenerife but some of these guys have very short memories and need to show some respect towards Lee who has done so much for the islands tourism. Just watching the vlog Kevin. And the part before you spoke to the couple from Kilsyth. You said. Is Tenerife to affordable. We pay just shy of £3k for B&B at the Cleopatra. Eat out every night. Not where it’s 3 courses for €10. But a mixture of dining options. Now and again it can be over €100. Everything from Biancos to Cafe Ole. We spend approx €5k. If you think that’s cheap then you must move in very expensive circles. With regards to €1 beers. You’ve been hunting them down for years. Don’t be like that other Vlogger on the island that sensationalises everything for click bait. Because he comes across as a knob. You’re better than that. Ps love all the vlogs you put out

Kev, you’re doing everything right, you show us as it is and if people want to go and have a euro a pint let them because they’ll stay longer in the bar and and have a few more pints then probably give them a bigger tip. The one thing that your not told is how much tips staff make, I did have a friend who's tips were on par with his wages.
That's not right heard about that before 😮

CZcams & Tenerife Guide All-time hero!
The problem is all inclusive hotels taking the trade from local shops and bars , if they put prices up people will go else where
Problem is, you give people an inch and they take a mile. Let's keep this place very very affordable. It's one of the main attractions of the place
Great video
Coming to golf de sur in June can't wait

€18 for two breakfasts and four San Miguel yesterday. How much would that be in the uk.
32 pounds

Most hotels only serve 400ml large beers
I love drinking the local beer and in the past travelled to tenerife to get drunk because it was cheaper than going to York for the weekend
Always tip your wait staff!
Hotels are very expensive in tenerife
Bars pay about 80cents for a pint of Dorada. So selling at a euro they are not making much.
I would pay more if it helps the staff
I have to agree with that other viewer , the Hand 🖐️ you wave about does look as if it’s fake 🖐️🤣

Increased prices won't go to staff. The Canaries depend on tourists. Take away the value & they will lose tourists. It's fine as it is.
The good old days Kevin 1Euro pint 3 Euro breakfast 5 Euro nice meal all good things come to an end

Problem is don't your videos advertise all the cheap bars and restaurants ?
Very small percentage
its the cost of getting to tenerife
Airbnb and high rent is the problem. Rental laws have changed in 1 Spanish city already and will most likely be implemented all over Spain o-o\\
