  • Parts of Russia including the Urals, the Volga and central areas have declared states of emergency, after some of the worst flooding in decades.
The disaster has forced at least 6,500 people to leave their homes.
In the southern Kurgan region, media say the flooding could affect at least 19,000 people.
Meanwhile, people in Orsk are protesting against their local authorities for their handling of the situation -- asking President Vladimir Putin for help.
They say they weren't warned a nearby dam could burst.

Thank you to the Russian Emergency workers for helping the trapped communities due to the floods, bringing bottles of water, medical supplies... I hope the help and Aid continues after the floods decrease - from England.

I went to the Kurgan a few days ago, there were people bagging the road. The water was a little bit on the road, but it was on the side of the Tyumen, and there was no flood.

dude this is Siberia. It's triple the distance away from Moscow than Ukraine is. It's like its own country, and becoming its own country has been a debate from time to time. If you are are hateful person just say so. Siberians are hard working farmers and mostly fairly poor.

Russia and China, still committed to increasing these issues, and Dubai, too. India is also in the closed eye club. Firmly entrenched in the past, blinded to the present, ignoring the future.

Първият етаж е залят с вода
The first floor is flooded with water.
I remember Putin reacting to comments by Sweden's Global Warming Champion Greta Thunberg's admonishing Governments for ineffective or worse no action to combat climate change.
Putin's remark as I remember it was when asked about Greta and the Climate Change movement said, "I am not a fan."
I bet he's a little more aware now of the seriousness of the problem. Plus this may also be another case of Russian municipal and military theft and corruption. Somebody designed and some company built this dam in 2010. Maybe this dam was not designed to hold that much melt water? Maybe the dam was built to plan, but in actuality, it was deficient in some way? Maybe some investigation will come to a conclusion? Maybe people will be told a lie or two?
It's Russia after all. How good can things really be?
We all see that the weapons that they built were 1990's capabilities at best and now Putin has a Navy that has lost ONE THIRD of it's Black Sea Naval Assets to a country without a navy at all. That is possibly due to negligence? Or simply out dated Naval Doctrines based on certain assumptions that are NOT true now. Like a fleet of fast, remote controlled long range delivery boats. Three or four collisions with the detonations of the explosives does a good deal of damage to these Russian ships right at the water line. Hard to close water tight bulkheads all along the ships port side.
Perhaps we could ask some high level Russian officers like Admiral Sokolov or General Genady Gerasimov about the need to rethink warfare doctrines? But we have not seen Sokolov or Gerasimov for quite a while.
Seems that that Storm Shadow raid on the Sevastopol Black Sea HQ building coincided with the presence of a meeting of the Black Sea Fleet commanders. How can that kind of timing be done? Someone got lucky? Someone is listening to Russian communications? Someone is inside the Russian Fleet and Army and Airforce command structure feeding periodic bits of valuable information about high level officers locations? Probably all of these and possibly Russia just being inept and risking themselves foolishly?

God is in control of the weather ; not man. No amount of money will change a thing ! In fact, the Bible clearly states we will see these things happen in the end times ! Matthew 24 & 25. Luke 21, & II Peter 2 & 3
