Hi Sifu Sergio, I follow your social channel from years. Thanks to you and your work I have discovered and understood many things about Wing Chun and Chinese martial arts. I discovered Mr. Hendrick Santo's channel a few days ago and I must say that thanks to his topic and his explanation on Wing Chun 1850 Short Strike Shaolin I discovered and understood very well how to really make Wing Chun work in free sparring with full contact and maximum speed and the basic aspect about Qi that it links up with diaphragmatic breathing. Before my discovery and understanding of Wing Chun 1850 with Shaolin short attack, I was unable to make Wing Chun work in this simple way in real sparring. I think that you Sifu Sergio have a very high level of understanding of the internal aspects of Chinese martial arts, in the meantime I think that Mr. Santo has created and continues to create with his video another very valuable work that helps to understand how Wing Chun can be practical in real combat. Now I better understand how the ancient Chinese Shaolin monks could be so effective in combat. Respect for everyone, please keeping to spread the knowledge of Martial Culture. Thank you at all

I'm always vary of people who try to bad mouth other people, sometimes even their own Sifus, to make themselves look good and prove their superiority. Greetings Sifu Sergio Iadarola,
I've been following your channel for a long time, following your advice, I took a look at Mr. Voldemort's channel...
I observed the things that are defended there, however, in my humble opinion, claims of Wing Chun Altentico or not it is something stupid, coming from him who apparently is rich in knowledge, my Wing Chun that I learned years ago with my master is simple, I never worried about authenticity or if the Wing Chun I learned is fake, I was only worried about what I could fulfill the purpose that I gave to my apprenticeship, which was Self-Knowledge and Self-Defense... I think that with so many lineages and branches of Wing Chun today, each one must be authentic in what they were focused on. And also, I realized that perhaps directly or indirectly the idea is moving towards an eastern religious field, focusing on Buddhism and leaving aside the concept of Wu Shu (Art of War) as a personal expression of each human being, when I say Art of War I actually refer to the concept of Strategy par excellence that encompasses the different layers of our daily life.
Furthermore, here in Brazil, when someone attacks us, our image, using untruths, due to our great performance and our work, we say: "They only throw sticks and stones at trees that bear fruit. Dear Sifu Sergio Iadarola, any attack made on you, your image, institution is because you are an enlightened person, a tree that bears fruit, good fruit...
    A hug from Macapá, Brazil.

I get the impression that much of what Hendrick posts comes on the back of some disasterous performances of wing chun in the likes of MMA etc. , which maybe he feels gives weight to his own theory. Yes actually you can, but I repeat energy does not lie, in the end it’s all about direct experience, the real deeper internals are not for everybody and you have to be open, just being stuck in your own box and just looking at it from a modern scientific point is just not the only way to go about it. I Once myself was guilty off that till the universe granted me finally the chance to find internal masters who could do and let me feel stuff I just would never have thought possible if I had not experienced it right there. Now that I can do a part of that myself on a reasonable level It really hits home what the Buddha said “only those who have attained know what it is, those who have not attained cannot even speculate to what it is”

Watching your videos over the past.. I don't know... certainly over 15 years maybe 20, I think you teach something completely different and much more profound than what was presented to me back then. A lot of people, some highly skilled - will refuse to believe in internal energy. Unskilled people will call the skill "tricks" and some highly skilled will call it "mechanics" and argue to death that it does not exist. When I first learnt Wing Chun, I was lucky to get the chance to meet and train with excellent Tai Chi players. They could Fa and An me at will -it took a long time - mostly standing still, to even begin to prevent them doing this at will. I've seen you do it inside the Wing Chun system. Either you have experienced this or not. Those who haven't will call anyone who has this skill fake. Those that have felt it KNOW it is real. I think your long term research has opened ancient hidden knowledge and skill in the system, and you are showing this. Your detractor can't harness the energy you can, it is there to be seen. I think I was heading towards your system without the deep knowledge that you had to search for by maintaining standing practise and the Chen style first Lu for years, but could rarely make them "gel". But if we had to break it down we are a reflection of the masters that have taught us( we never talk ill of others but in the Internet world people only see the surface and they get misguided, I'm sure the other person means well but again knowledgeable is not the same as the body being able to execute it. A master of martial qi must be able to execute the move without the 3 following things I believe . 1 speed 2 muscle strength 3 reliant of reaction (as we grow older these 3 factors deteriorate overtime and if these are the things we use to win a fight then as we grow old we would not climb any higher than we were when we were young which isn't really kungfu) 90% of the stuff on CZcams isn't kungfu... Ethics comes before knowledge and skill. Regardless of what the history of Wingchun is, the past is in the past. The art changes with the times. What might make sense during the Ming/Qing dynasty transition period may not be applicable today. Hence, it's much more important to understand your own kungfu from regular training. Traditional Chinese culture emphasis a lot on personal experience rather than hearsay, since much of the myths and legends in history are made up, either from misinformation or misinterpretation.
Just ignore and distance yourself from this hooligan. What goes around comes around. Karma is something that none of us can escape. Virtue is the only good, hence being ethical and having compassion for others is the only true spiritual cultivation, regardless of whether your discipline is in martial arts or something else.

I am following your channel because I am open minded on all what I see.
Labelling something as bs just because I don't understand what is going on, is not something what you will see me do.
On the other hand, dogmatism is also not my way.
I am more into realistic Wing Chun, or realistic anything for that matter.
So, when I see you showing your internal power I do take into account that most students will be compliant and polite.
But that is not my main concern.
My main concern is about the applicability in a real world scenario where no one is holding your hand/arm stiffly which puts them in a rather inconvenient position.
In this real world scenario you don't have the luxury of touching or sensing, no, instead you will be faced with a skilled western boxer with excellent footwork and who knows how to manage space and who knows how to throw his hips in to produce immense powerful punches. This boxer will come in and out and not playing touching hands with anyone.
I am seeing too much Wing Chun against Wing Chun or Wing Chun against a much less skilled opponent. However, that is not the reality out there. I have seen way too many long year Wing Chun practitioners get their ass kicked by western boxers to next be depressed for months. The reason being is that all those years they have only trained against their fellow Wing Chun practitioners, giving them a false sense of reality.
So, my point is about being realistic. I took the time to write this, and I hope you see that I am not being negative at all.
I think you are a man who wants to really find out the essence of whatever caught your attention.
    So, think about this...

    1. Where does the power (CHI) come from? (and please don't tell me that the power comes from the Earth, the Sun or the air... it's ridiculous, because the power of the Black Hole is greater than the Sun, but none of the grandmasters said anything about CHI from The Black Hole, and secondly, is the training CHI would be different in a graveyard or on the surface of the Moon - as you can see, this creates contradictions) Saying that the power comes from Heaven means nothing. It's folklore and poetry.
    2. If you don't use CHI power to fight, what's the reason to cultivate it? To stay healthy? - but there are many different ways to stay fit and healthy… or do you mean other things like mind or soul… so the last question:
    3. What is the mind and the soul from your perspective, a perspective that is broader because of your research ?

Personally, I dont think you owe this dude any further responses. He has a mental health problem. While he may have gained some valid knowledge... its mixed with a lot of Theory and Word Salad. Also, Im pretty sure that Wing Chun was created much further back, than the 1800's. Regardless, Ive seen some of the older Wing Chun, in a version called Hung Fi Yi... by one of Benny Mengs instructors. There was some good and interesting things within it.. but, there were also some things that I didnt agree with at all... such as the slanted fists. The HFY form, was incredibly long and complicated... and took up a lot of floorspace to perform. It made me realize why Yip Man altered the original forms... to be more Simple, and require much less floorspace.
Yes, you can in fact release Fajin, without even breathing. However... If you really want to apply maximum potentials.. then you certainly want the proper sync'd breath, with each movement. This is especially true... if you were forced to have to deal with multiple attacking OPs.
I once used to spar this dude, that was like 2x my own mass and strength. He had a bad habit about holding his breath... when striking, and not getting enough oxygen intake. He told me that he once passed out while doing a long form... because of it.

yes indeed, the whole course/case is sad...i have already made a comment on this actual dispute/issue a couple of days ago...well, all i see is that many people get into a negative mood doing mindless verbal bashing around without thinking/researching first...it seems to me that this is turning out into a small scale war (amoung the followers) which is a waste of time...i just watched hendrik santos recent video-response on his channel ("Wing Chun 1850 SLT truth exposed based on Chinese historical evidence and scientific verification") where he does some explanations and statements to this ongoing dispute. it makes me sad seeing in what direction this whole dispute is heading to,..to me the whole thing becomes pointless the more all the involved people struggle about. i pretty do know well that hendrik is a difficult character and of course he is not "perfect", who else is? all this blabla of "detachement" doesn't help the problem really,i.e. do i have to be a buddhist to only understand about detachement? basically i don't care-its the people who should stand up and try to communicate with each other...yes there are demons from the "past" still lurking around, but i am frustrated and disgusted by some followers who make too rash a harsh comment without diving in into the main materia, speaking doing some proper research before they spit out their verbal poison. i really apprechiate what sergio is doing, on the other hand i really apprechiate what one h. santo is doing, speaking of scietific research, for both of you! what else shall i say? thank you sergio for all your hard effort, and i hope sometime this case here will be resolved for the gain of every sides...bless you@@SifuSergioChannel

@@heinrichkessler2036 I've been watching the same thing. I wouldn't want this to be war. War has sides that try to push each other down. Instead of that we should all individually try to rise up. Debate should be the latter. This kind of escalation of reactions makes no sense. Guys already have a social chi sao, we'll see who tenses more.

It's visible obvious that you have a high level of chi cultivation. Over at Mindful Wing Chun, they say that their chi is not the chi of tai chi. I beg to differ. Yours looks similar to Mizer et. al., whole body breathing, bone marrow breathing... I don't understand the differentiation.

Don’t waste time arguing to defend yourself against this persons defense of his exclusive belief that his version of the history of wing chun is the correct scholarly proven truth of the style. There is more than one history to be told of many things from the martial world and just because one branch or lineage had a written or recorded history that is sourced by someone intent on proving their particular version doesn’t make it ultimately true. Many clans, families and temples throughout the history of China passed things down unrecorded by society in general and passed their own history down with their arts. Truth is nobody knows the absolute truth of the source of Wing Chun. Accumulate knowledge and proceed along a Wing Chun path whereby your perfection of your own action is the only thing of consequence not anything that anyone else may do or say.

Hendrik is very knowledgeable. He even shared his entire slt set with me, complete with a series of instructional videos. However, I do not think he is right about everything. Yes, he is his own worst enemy and he is NOT an honest person.

Complete vanity named art, detached from practical martial reality. A pure waste of time. Once you are enlightened to this fact (won't be soon), what are you going to do?

Well I have done more then 12 years of judo and won a Dutch youth championship with it, I have a purple belt in BJJ and lots of experience in some other martial arts. So don’t worry about me, having said that I still feel that 1700s Internal Wing Chun is among the top that martial arts can deliver in terms of effectiveness. Obviously you met the wrong Wing Chun people 🤷‍♂️ Ps there are many lineages in Wing Chun and for sure a huge amount of difference in skill level among the Sifu’s teaching the art in its various forms.

@@SifuSergioChannel The reason you can't progress from your state of mind, is the delusion of control caused in Wing Chun. It's mainly for your class room and those that -worship you- you teach.
I was not addressing the theories and strategies of the system (those are correct within conditions and circumstances), but it's practicality in a real assault by an attacker with intent on hitting you. Things will not go the way you think, and Judo and Jijitsu also have not clue on blocking and not getting hit in the head. I know it may sound strange to you. Sure you prefer your system instead of the one's you mentioned, first of all it uses strikes and it's stand up fighting. But having said that, bickering about how to breath and on all the nuances of e.g. a tan sau etc. is vanity and a waste of time and money; instructors have no problem with that, I know...
Listen to me, give a fake name and participate in a Streetbeef fight, don't tell anyone; a whole different world will unravel from the one you imagine and even from the one you see in videos of Streetbeefs; up close it's worse.. Try to use WC in their, not default back to a mere street fight, test your system not just yourself. You will return a new man and either see the vanity in your hours of training or recreate something useful, using a practical training methodology. You don't need to thank me for it, just change your situation.
Yeah, you wanna be "internal", ok, but a foot in your mouth is a way more internal experience.
It's not about you, it's about the vanity(

You obviously took time to clap back at this Hendrik guy so give me a break with this passive aggressive video. If you are going to call him out then just say it. Again another wing chun/tai chi teacher creating drama along with this Hendrik guy who I can clearly see have no real training just by the look of Hendrik's videos. As for Sergio I can see some decent flow in some of your students and yourself in some of your videos but unfortunately I don't follow just the master and his words and his methods of training only I also look at the individual and I clearly can see by your videos and you calling people out and the facebook arguments that you get into it clearly says to me that you have a bad ego under all this charade you do in your videos, but you know how to sell and market your stuff so I'll give you that I was a former salesman so I know good marketing when I see it. Both of you are selling your books that is obvious. That is why the western and most recently the martial world in South East Asian countries are catching on and are walking away from Kung Fu too. Individuals like you guys that keeps up the drama. Sorry I didn't drink the kool aid Sergio or any other so called masters tea cup.
Meditate, Physical Training, Meditate, Martial Training, Meditate, Fight/Spar, Meditate, Weapons training, Meditate, Rest, Meditate, Eat, Meditate, Sleep then you rinse and repeat that is how you drink the tea cup and become a well rounded good martial artist and all the b.s. will wash itself to irrelevance.
