I would love to see more such discussions. Shri Soamya Basu is exceptional for his capacity for objective analysis of past events. I have read some of his works. Besides being very meticulous about facts, he has another rare quality: He evaluates characters with empathy. He doesn't indulge in hagiography, character assassinations, or wild conspiracy theories. These are rare traits among authors not only from Bengal but also in India.
