- Hello! In today's video I'm sharing how you can install a hard wired dash cam in ANY car - it's really straightforward, and shouldn't take too long at all! I'm fitting mine in a Renault Captur, but you could do this in any car!

I just had fun with my old dashcam as I just bought a new car, as the last one was written off by a kid last August, so had to buy a new wire from front camera to rear camera as had a garage hard wire it in, so never knew how the cable was run through the car, and as the passenger pilar was damaged in the accident, and it was the passenger pilar they had run the wire down, then impossible to get the wire back out.
I got to say I am pretty impressed with my handy work, as the wire runs along the roof, and as I bought a longer cable for my Viofo (very handy that they sell replacement parts rather than a new dashcam), then I had excess wire to hide somewhere in the boot after running it around 75% of the boot, which will also allow the rear camera wire to be hidden better as the wire doesn't have to change direction from the rear camera, and as a large small car (Citroen C3 Picasso), then the 5m of cable I got was about 1m too long in the end.
just got to look up on youtube now how to fit the hard wiring cable into the dashboard. as cannot find the clips to remove the side panels.
Now I just need to buy a Captur ❤❤❤
Dashcam on the boat ftw!
@@kiphakes I’d have to have a working boat for that 🙄
Oh shit.. yes, I’m sorry.. 😔
@@kiphakes 🤣🤣 maybe you could fix my boat for a fix it Friday? No? Ok…
@theleftyboater haha My Mate Vince has done some boat stuff! 😂
Nice one Kip, that bulky choke could be a pain to hide, is it really needed? 😀
I think it’s there to minimise interference with DAB signals- especially retrofit ones that have the aerial on/near the windscreen
I need to do this to mine, I hate having messy wires all over the car.
Thanks for the how to.
You’re welcome! 🙏🏼
