My piano arrangement for Alice In Chain’s “I Stay Away”, from the 1994 album “Jar Of Flies”.
Growing up with 90s Grunge, with it’s key signature, string arrangements, syncopations, and stop-motion music video, this song always felt in a category all it’s own. Progressive Grunge?? 🤷‍♂️

Oh man, please please please release sheets for this as well and make more AIC piano covers. I literally just purchased your version of The Humbling River, and as a 5 year piano student with a love for grunge and metal, I can't say enough how grateful I am to know you're taking some of my favorite music and translating it to my instrument of choice. I was seriously worrying I'd have to learn guitar for the rest of the decade to cover my favorite bands, man. And hey, what the heck dude, why haven't you done any tool albums before Aenima? Undertow is amazing too!

I thought I'd already made the "I Stay Away" sheets available on my website, so I'll get to that right away.
As for the TOOL covers, I've actually been working with both Undertow and Opiate since I finished the big albums, but funnily enough, I'm actually having a harder time with them, even thought they are simpler compositions. They are far more percussive by nature and to translate with the desired impact onto piano is touch. My lower D note has also taken a beating, so I've been focussing on some other influences atm, but they're coming. After being re-inspired seeing TOOL on Monday, I've actually been working on Swamp Song all afternoon. 🤘
