Whisky .com reviews the Port Ellen 15th Release. The distillery is closed since 1983 and with this bottle is probably one of the last bottling this series.
The nose:
Smoke, alcoholic note, menthol note, red apple peel, caramel, fruits, pears, malt
The taste:
Spicy, European oak, smoke, honey, sweet
The finish:
Medium

Thanks for your review. I agree, too much money for liquid. A rare original painting is better value for the money. The only problem with common sense is that it's not that common.
Port Ellen is delicious but $3k? Not worth it.
im from Slovakia...these bottles are ungetable here...what a shame
