Honey thats him singing in the background lol...thats how INCREDIBLE he was
Amen!!!! 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
Marvin Gaye is a great pianist too.
Marvin was a genius. He did all of his arrangements and vocals.
That’s Marvin for you man, once he discovered you could overlap your voice to create harmonies, he became a beast. Marvin Gaye is my favorite artists of all time and I’m 16.... crazy right? It’s just something about his songs that helps put you in a peaceful mindset.
YOU ARE SO RIGHT YVNG. HAVE YOU LISTENED TO "ANGER"
The 70’s was my era. (I was exactly in my 20’s in the 70’s). It touches me when people your age appreciate our music, the music of our era. 😊
I'm 80's kid and you guys had the best music, best style. Such an awesome generation. Won't happen again.
That is all Marvin. He is the blueprint for artists like Musiq Soulchild who did background voice overlaps etc. Marvin is on the top greatest singers in the world. This man was truth.
The voice overlaps are Marvin, but the background harmonies were done by another Motown group, named 'The Originals' who sang "The Bells", "Baby I'm For Real", among other hits.
That's all him background vocals in everything
Marvin Gaye had a great falsetto.
His range was amazing.
THAT WHOLE ALBUM IS HYPNOTIZING.
He has a conversational way of singing, like you’re sitting on the couch with him.
The music video to this song shows him chillin', laying on a couch in the studio, cranking this out. It's a must see. Check it out.
@@veryeridDeese That video immediately came to mind when he was trying to describe how effortlessly Marvin's voice just flows. How bad must you be to sing lying down??? Yup, Marvin "showed out"....lol.
I still have not gotten over his death😭
Neither have I 😢
This is all Marvin Gaye in the background it’s all him bro
THAT IS WHAT MADE HIM VERSATILE AND INTERESTING. HE WAS GREAT WITH HIS FALSE TONE AND HIS NATURAL. BOTH POWERFUL SIMPLY PUT THE MAN WAS ANOINTED AS A VOCALIST.
A beautiful reaction. This joy is how so many of us feel when we hear Marvin.
Thats marvin doing his own background
Yes..Marvin was in fact, a MAC DADDY! 😂😂
I love your reaction. Marvin sang multiple parts, background and foreground in this song. He's a legendary musical icon. You need to listen to more Marvin.
1000% positive every vocal on that track was Marvin Gaye. He’s was a Genius!
Marvin was a rhythmic and melodic genius. Just listen to the layers of this sound.
He is and will always be one of the GOAT’S! He forever lives through is Music! 😜👞🎤👞😜
That all him in the background . Marvin use to sing the song on his back laying down without missing a note . Even in live performance his live vocals still could fill up the song where his ab libs were missing
Marvin Gaye was the very first artist to layer his voice, so yes that is him
"You win; you got it!" that says it all. I feel blessed because I saw him in concert THREE times. There's no words to describe how I felt after a Marvin Gaye concert!!!!
Moondance Jackson

@@annarichardson1247 He was fantastic at each show of his I saw -- but the BEST one was with him and Tammi Terrell. They were incredible together!!!!
Marvin Gaye's range is out of this world.He did a lot of his own background vocals. Yes he had a mean falcetto.The one and only M.G.F A N T A S T I C.
ONE OF THE GREATEST VOCAL ARTIST THAT WALKED THIS EARTH- AND MY FAVORITE ARTIST OF ALL!!! CLOSE SECOND IS BOBBY WOMACK.
Not a mack daddy but a very respectful, sensual, sensitive soul. 100% Marvin.....Classic Album right here yes sir!! Still have my album RIP Mr. Marvin Gaye (forever loved & missed).
Sir every voice you are hearing is Marvin, he sang all his own backgrounds and adlibs!
He was one of the very first artist to ever layer his voice it is all him and that song that’s why he’s legendary
Learn more about this man. He was a tortured songbird with a heartbreaking and enamoring story. Literally the greatest of all time.
The 70s was an explosion of ear candy thru all genres of music...This is where Marvin shined the brightest when he was pleading with a woman..
Yes Brother That's ALL Marvin
marvin did all his background vocals and adlibs layers and everything that's the science of harmonizing

It's all his voice. He layered his voice all over his songs.
We had good music and a lot of fun too!
Marvin. Barry. Teddy. Listen to 'em all, and you'll know why the 70s defined smooth R&B. It was the best of times.
I got a kick outta watching your reaction to this great song by this phenomenal artist.
Great observation there is a rehearsal video of this song and the man is laying down on a couch while singing it and the voice is so smooth and never cracks its amazing!

Marvin all the way!
Marvin is doing the background
Marvin would record the lead vocals in different ways and merge them together to get his unique sound. He sung lead and background vocals along with playing instruments.
You should go check out his music more and learn. He is one of the best of all time
It’s all Marvin!!!
Love this song man. So soulful. Great reaction!
You gotta watch the live recording he is just that cool. Sang this laying on a couch the rehearsal was recorded. Definitely a mack.
Marvin didn't even have to try to be a mack but he just was. And yes he did his own background voices also.
Love your reaction my brotha!!! We are the best at music!!! 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾 Everyone else learns from us big bro!!!!
The 70s was a beautiful time I was 15 when this album came out and the best thing was that black people had fun together we really loved each other and we definitely wasn't killing each other all my child hood friends grew to see adult hood and the only thing on are minds was chasing girls and playing sports.🤗
The genius of the 70,s

7:57 I love your reaction
yes, the Commodores were referring to Marvin Gaye who died way too early. His father shot him to death after he made the album "Sexual Healing". His father thought he had been taken over by the devil because he was singing about sex
Please react to Turn on Some Music from his very last album. Which every song on that LP was awesome!!! Marvin was the truth...
The70s was absolutely the greatest time for black people period we were coming together as a people which we had so much love for each other the music speaks for its self we definitely did not killing each other , and that made us a threat to this wicked government so what did they do introduce crack and gangs which produced the destruction of black communities all across America as they planed.
Nice job brother!
Check out "Inner City Blues", "What's Going On" and "Trouble Man".
Ray Parker, Jr. on rhythm guitar!
Marvin didn't need to be a Mack.. Women threw themselves at him. And al the vocals you hear are HIM.

Check out. If I Should Die Tonight by Marvin Gaye
John Legend is Great Value Marvin. Facts!
It’s all him - parts of the really thick harmonic spots sound like maybe one or two other guys, but I didn’t look it up. There’s a really deep bass in there and I don’t think he went that low. Anyway, I appreciate your impressions and you have a LOT of music to discover. I’m a little jealous! You get to hear “I Heard it Through the Grapevine” for the first time.
john legend lmaoooo 😂
Marvin doesn't sound like anyone but Marvin Gaye. John Legend is not in his class
It’s all him …no one else
Yeah he was #1mack daddy of all time
they whole song is Marvin
H he was the first to do it on p
Marvin would never ever use background singers in the studio
"A less formal John Legend" ... wow, that's a good description of Marvin.
You can’t compare John Legend to Marvin Gaye 🤦🏾♀️
Reverse that!
Hey man I know I'm not the only one you look like
Young labrons James 😏
Great reaction,👍
I actually get that a lot
You’re handsome
