People were criticizing SRH for their aggressive batting against KKR and for loosing wickets. But today the same aggressive cricket in PP helped them to score 175. If they weren’t so aggressive, they would’ve have reached 175 as the pitch was very very slow as the ball became old.
Tripathi made a serious impact, in both the games of the playoffs. Don't know why the form of Sanju and Yuzi always fizzles out by the 2nd half of the tournament. They are so inconsistent over seasons, and then people blame selectors, for not selecting them. You can't really rely on such mercurial players.
Mercurial means always in form bro. These guys are bottlers. Their form dips heavily by the business end of tournament.
Sanju is always a class player on the eye but never makes impactful contributions in clutch games

As a KKR fan, I am completely relaxed. I have already dealt with the PTSD and hopelessness of losing to a Cummins led team in the Final. So, all the best to both teams. 🧡💜
SRH deserved to win and it showed in the way they played their cricket on the day that mattered. The move to push Klassen up the order was where they made the statement.
If RR had played bold cricket. They had issues and another season ended feeling they left something back in the tank. It was disappointing to see them not trust Hetmyer and Powell despite paying them the big bucks. Their entire season was heavily dependent on Samson and Parag and I thought they could have pushed either Samson to open or have Hetmyer bat in between Samson and Parag. Instead they exposed their right hand dominant batting to Abhishek and Shahbaz.
It was similar to RCB 2020 season and their "fear of failure" cost them a final spot because their batting never looked settled and their constant moves to push Ashwin up the order, ensured Hetmyer and Powell hardly played 100 balls each in this season.
Big positives were their 5 bowler startegy and how Samson managed them, but they got nothing from their overseas batsmen and they were to blame for not backing them
Edit: RR will look back at their campaign in this cycle from 2022-24 and will be very happy. It helped that they got IPL experienced players in Hetmyer, Ashwin, Padikkal, Boult and Chahal for less than 8 crores each. They traded Padikkal and got Avesh in and worked well.
They backed and groomed Parag, Jaiswal and Jurel (all whom are under 24), but didn't back their 4th overseas player and kept shuffling over the last 3 seasons. This season their team was settled with Powell, Hetmyer and Burger, but played musical chairs with Donovan Ferreira and Tom Kohler Cadmore who were both inexperienced and domestic players
I actually think to the contrary that RR blew their best chance since 2008 for a shot at the title, the team will have to be rebuilt due to next year's mega auction, they consistently had the best side each Yr in this cycle and despite that they fucked it up

If we gonna speak about captains in the future he will be next to Dhoni and Ponting. I loved the fact tha cummins and srh owned up to their way of cricket. They accepted they were a bit reckless in qualifier 1, but owned up to the fact that this is how we will play and today that was the difference, they were 99-4 after 10 overs.

The two most exciting teams have made it to the final. They really were playing modern day T20. The other teams are a step or two behind.
RCB were close in terms of having a well balanced team and also were exciting .... Like if u see the league stage batting stats RCB surprisingly tops even srh and kkr in some areas .... I would put srh .. kkr and RCB in one basket and the rest in the other basket .... Also honestly RCB got unlucky by losing the toss in eliminator or else we would have seen a much more exciting battle between RCB and srh yesterday..... Unlike what rr did against srh ..... But yea bottom line is two of the most deserving teams are in finals ....

There is NO turn in the first innings because RR hasn't bowled finger spinners in the middle overs. Ashwin bowled with new ball and defensively (with lines). If Ashwin had bowled in the middle overs, we might have seen another finger spinner Riyan Parag bowling too.

RR has always been an average team. When Sanju or Parag failed, 3 of the matches which they won were because of two centuries from butler and one from Jaiswal. If you look at those matches if that one wicket had fallen, they would’ve lost all those games as well. So they don’t perform so often as a whole team.
Yeah let's see the number of umpiring blunders against RR and other teams, let's see how many in form players were called from other teams vs RR and how they fared, let's see if there is a team which has the commentators shouting moves such as Shahbaz Ahmad should come in way before impact sub was subbed in (just one of many examples) apart from RR.

Even RR spinners were better on paper. One with 700 international wickets and the other is a part of India's WC squad. Two part time bowlers in Shahbaz and Abhishek out bowled them. So KKR wins are not guaranteed. Cummins was paid 20 crores for a reason.

Infact Ashwin is pretty useless in any format on any pitch that is NOT a snake-pit.
This pitch had turn, but wasn't a snake-pit. Ashwin couldn't do anything on it. But 2 part-timers did excellently. No wonder India don't play him much in Overseas Tests either.
