I absolutely love this and so highly approve it! I mentioned in the comments in your previous video that I LOVE to use cornstarch with coconut milk, extra virgin olive oil, and a tiny bit of lemon to bring down the Ph. It can be used more than once a month, but since I also use henna I didn’t want to completely straighten my curls. I will try it with just the water too. But this is such a wonderful conditioner! You did a great job! ❤️
Thank you so much for your feedback ! 💖 I definitely need to try your mixture. My hair loves coconut milk and olive oil ! 😍
Thank you again ! ❤️❤️❤️
Z zxv99zX😊😊
7:7 nice seven teaspoons of corn starch adding seven cups of water. Thank you!💌
I am sincerely shook. I saw the first video, and I said to myself, "I'll give a try". I tried it today, and this is definitely going to be incorporated in my hair ritual. Univ Hair Soleil thank you for sharing your gifts with us. You have been one of my main inspirations for my hair journey, and you came through once again with this cornstarch gel. 😊💙🙏🏾
Aww ! Thank you so much for your feedback ! I really appreciate it ! 😍 💕
Ok so I just made a batch and tried it. I’m sitting under the heat cap right now as I type this. I added a little olive oil, honey and essential oil to the mix. The consistency is luscious and smooth. When I applied it to my hair, it gave me “ok” slip but when I added just a little of my miellé DC on top, it changed the game. The slip was amazing after adding a little of the DC on top of applying the cornstarch gel to the sections and it definitely cut down my detangling process. And it’s an added plus that it stretches my DC so I don’t have to use as much or buy it was often. So I’ll say it’s perfect to pair with your current DC. I definitely wouldn’t try it as a leave in because when the water evaporates, what’s left will obviously be the cornstarch which, logically thinking, will leave a pale starchy residue in the hair. Just my thoughts. Thank you for the recipe.
Thank you so much for your detailed feedback ! It's really helpful ! 💕
Oh it's Amazing to use it in shampoo and conditioner
I will try this hair treatment this weekend. Your hair is healthy and happy! 💯
Thank you so much ! 💖
Okay I've been doing this for almost 3 weeks and I'm hooked! I use it as a wash out conditioner after i wash my hair and i use it in the middle of the week
Can you please let me know if I should use this before or after washing my hair? Thank you!
@@sheilasargent1994 definitely before so you can wash it out but u could also do it after on wet hair i assume and just rinse it off :)
@@velvet8933 thank you very much for your response!
@@velvet8933does this makes your hair straight a little bit?
@@khadijayaseen2682 I feel like my curl pattern more defined than anything and definitely made my hair soft. It's been a while since I've done it but planning on using it again.
I came to know about cornstarch gel recently from another content creator. She prepares hers in clove, rosemary and fenugreek solution. My twist was adding a few drops of almond oil, peppermint oil and tea tree oil. I tried it on my hair as a conditioner and it did wonders. I have lesser shedding, no more dandruff issues, more curl definition and shine so much so that I only apply the clove oil to my scalp and spritz my hair with the clove, rosemary and fenugreek solution every 2nd day. I use it on my daughter's hair too. I have to thank you for your clove oil recette. I'm definitely going to leave my oil to sit pour 5 semaine before using it. Merci 🙏🏽
Did this straight your hair not damn straight but a little straight?
I have curly hair I leave it in for about 30 min I also put my favorite conditioner and oile oil love the way it leaves my hair
You are amazing I bought your book I’m so excited to read it
Thank you so much ! ❤❤❤
Thank you this is fantastic, simple, easy and effective well done May God bless you 🙏
Thank you so much ! You’re very welcome! God bless you too !
Gorgeous! I love it!!!
Thank you !
I'm definitely trying this 😊
Edit June 2024 i made it this time with rosemary and bay leaves for cowash so that i can see how long ill go without washing my hair because i literally just retwisted it last week
So I just tried this and it was such a fun experience to make. It looked like porridge, and alittle cornstarch goes along way. The water i used was rice with ginger, clove and anise. I used a whisk, but it still had some lumps, which looked exactly like grits. Then I realized homany and corn are related. It's so thick and tacky almost like glue it's so amazing I love it. I also love flaxseed gel but it's such a chore - the seed part. I need to invest in cheesecloths
Your channel is amazing! Thank you! Can you mix this with the aloe gel in order to thicken it up?
Oh thanks ill try it.
Will try, thank you
You're welcome !
I haven't tried cornstarch powder before. I like what I saw. Thanks for sharing
You’re welcome ! 🤗
Love your videos explain things so clearly and simply. Just to be clear. Do you rinse it out???
Thank you ! Yes I rinse it out !
First time to get to your channel
Thank you mam for this beautiful video,I'm african and I'm suffering alot with my hair🙃. I'll try this corn starch gel 🤩😍
My question for you is this should be daily ,weekly or monthly?🤔
Hello! Does this work on looser smoother ringlets? Thanks for the amazing video!
It also adds color to the hair when I use it it brings my blonde highlights out try it!!!
Do you think it would bring my strands of grey out more ? I’m the only one that seems to be able to see them unless I individually pull them out for others to see
I tried it, and my curls were elongated as long as I had the corn starch gel in my hair but when I was it out my curls went back to irs original state. Now it did make it soft.
Thank you so much for your feedback !
It’s supposed to make hair softer & more manageable. To use as a leave in, I think 🤔 I’d add some kind of oil sheen on it after it dries.
Ty! I’ve never seen this used by other hair care content creators. Can’t wait to try it out. Can this be left in the hair or do you recommend always to wash it out?
You're welcome ! It's better to wash it out.
AS SOMEONE WHO JUST TRIED THE JAPENESE RICE AND CORN STARCH TREATMENT, CORN STARCH CAN GET A LITTLE HARD AS I HAD TO LET THE MIX SIT FOR 1 HR. WITH PLASTIC COVERING(I DID HAVE AN EXTRA 1/2 HR BECAUSE I WAS BUSY DOING SOMETHING) BUT, THE MIX GOT ON MY FACE AND DIED A LITTLE CUSTY, I WOULD RINSE IT OUT(IT CAN BE A LITTLE MESSY, YOU MAY WANT TO PUT A CAPE ON OR DO IT IN THE SHOWER) AND FOLLOW UP WITH HAIR OIL ONCE ALMOST DRY BUT, NOT DISTRUBING YOU LOOSE HAIR STRANDS TOO MUCH IF YOUR TRYING TO KEEP THE LOOK AFTER RINSING.
MINE I HAD TO WASH OUT BECAUSE IT S WAS A RICE AND CORN STARCH TREATMENT, WASH AFTERWARD AND USE A LEAVE CONDITIONER MIXED WITH LIGHT HAIR OIL LIKE JOJOBA, ARGAN AND/OR CASTOR OIL IF YOU NEED SOMETHING A LITTLE HEAVIER --CASTOR OIL NATURALLY CONDITIONS HAIR AS WELL AND YOU ONLY NEED A LITTLE. REAL GOOD CASTOR OILIS THICK AND COMES IN DARK GLASS BOTTLES, NO FUNNY ORDORS.
HOPE THAT HELPS!😊
Omg , I’m on cornstarch REAL BAD ! I definitely would love to put my habit into something more productive . ESP since I have curly hair but don’t have a proper gel around here
I eat it 😢
Beautiful voice, hugs from 🇧🇷
Thank you ! 🤗✨
Please how long should I leave the gel on my hair before rinsing it out . I really love your videos and hair it encourages me to do more for my hair
30 minutes
Very beautiful! Thank you!
I just have to ask is it safe to leave the corn starch gel in my hair without rinsing it?
Also, can this gel damage my hair if I use it too often?
There is no preservatives in this mixture ...and cornstarch is food so it might grow bacteria or mold. Anything with moisture will encourage bacteria and mold.
I love this video, I never considered this method before! Beautiful idea. 😊 I don't have curly hair, but thin and oily, and lately it's begun a war on me. I hoping that going to more natural hair care methods will help..! 😄 Thank you!
Thank you sis ! 🤗 You should definitely give natural products a try !
@UnivHairSoleil3 Aww, I appreciate it! 😊 I will try my best!😄🫡
Buna!
So beautiful ❤❤😍
Thank you !
Hi, your video is very helpfull. Thank you for all your advice.
See U soon
Hi Josy ! Thank you so much ! 😍
Thanks🥰
Whatttt?????🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰😍😍😍😍 THANKYOU JESUSSSSSSSS
Hi, I am white, but you're the only person I've seen who has hair like mine! Like a lion's mane! Definitely going to give this a try!
Can I use this gel as a shampoo?
Also can use with any starch flour with gluten like plants flour or African yam flour
I like the idea of trying other plant flours like yam flour. I live in the USA and I don’t think we sell those. Perhaps I’ll need to try the international groceries. Please share your experience if you try other flours. Sending thanks from Delaware USA❤
Yes the Lord Jesus Christ always takes care of His children all over the world and not only in places where corn starch is readily available Please use what is available and affordable because the Bible says we don't ever have to go to extravagant and expensive ways to do our hair as ladies. What is affordable, simple, with no harsh chemicals is what the Lord wants us to use and He is faithful to nourish our hair in ways no genes and no expensive products can provide ❤
I was just about to say wait 🤔 when did you bring out a book and I don’t know about it 😳. Then you mentioned the link 🙃. Definitely gonna get your book and also give this cornstarch gel recipe a try. Awesome video as per usual.
Me too! 💖
Aww ! Thank you so much for your support ! 😊 💕 I really need to communicate more about my e-books.
It looks like the content creator used the gel before washing her hair, is it better to do that or not? Thank you
I really love this video and im definitely gonna try this ..can you plz tell me if we can store this gel? If yes then for how long?? Please reply 🥺
Thank you ! It’s better to use it right away. You can keep it in the fridge for up to a week but you’ll have to blend it and heat it up again to get the desired texture.
Kia frizzy hair Waly use kr skty hn ye?
Can I leave it in
Thank you so much for your channel the Lord bless you ❤
You’re welcome ! ❤️🤗 Thank you so much !
Do you reccomend I add flaxseed gel to this gel? I love your creativity for our hair. I have 4b type hair❤God bless everyone
Notice no one answers the 4C-D pattern questions 😂 smh
@@BeautyInYOU583 true lol
I will try this given I have 4c hair & anything to help detaingle on a budget. Also, you're saying I can mix this with my flaxseed jell to do my wash & go?
You can mix it with flaxseed gel for a hair mask. I never tried this as a leave-in.
I've seen many people try this as a mask but when they leave it in and it dries, it FLAKES A LOT like it's snowing from you hair. So be careful.
@@Sunshine_Hime thank you Subshine
How do you use it?
hi , i have thick coarse hair. the constarch gel made my hair very dry and crunchy and hard to untangle. any reason as to why? thank you
After you get into a gel like consistency, and all the grain is out
put some oil in it, almond rose while it’s still on high mix it in let it cool and then put it on your hair and comb through your hair
My wash day is coming 👆🏿 & I will try it. I have very tight coils & I can definitely use the stretch.
Thank you once again. 💕
You’re very welcome ! 🤗
Can you substitute cornstarch with tapioca starch and achieve the same results? Thank you!
I plan to make a comparison between the two but I think tapioca gel is lighter.
Cornstarch and aloe vera
Great combination ! 🤗✨
So is it an alternative for conditioner?
Yes it can be an alternative for conditioner. 🙂
Pls dear save my natural hair, I started using cornstarch gel the first time I watched this video, at first it was lovely on my hair but along the line,I started seeing build up that's super big, and each time I scratch out the build up out I feel pain at that spot and after some while that same spot will form another build up and my scalp in general now feels so dry... I wash my hair normal every 2weeks before I started using the cornstarch gel, but now it's 10days cos the itching and build up is unbearable. Pls what will I do help me pls .
Try cornstarch potatoes and coconut oil once than see what is result. Write cornstarch potatoes for hair on CZcams you will get recipe.
🤦🏽♀️
Do you wash it out?,how long to keep it in for
30 minutes
Can I still use the cornstarch gel even when I have straight hair
Yes you can do that !
Please i cant get cornstarch , please is there another name for it?
It’s also called « maizena ».
I tried this last weekend.have a look at my profile pic. On the right is how I usually wear my hair and left was after blow-drying.
I had no lumps, so no need to strain. I mixed my cornstarch with a little water first and then mixed into my pot of water and whisked, much like thickening a sauce or a gravy.
My hair didn't feel smooth as with other conditioners. BUT .... i applied my leave-in and a little oil. Then I blow-dried my hair ..... I am South African with mixed race heritage. Our hair vaires from type 1through to 4c I have thin fine 3a/b hair. I blow-dried like the Dominican stylists do (that's how we have always styled our hair), not like America stylists. I didn't need to flat iron cos my blow-drying techcique does a great job and no flat ironing is required. It looked like I had a botox or keratin treatment and like my hair had been flat-ironed too. I added honey and oil to my cornstarch mixture. Next time I'll add a tbsp conditioner. I think that was what my hair needed as well. This morning I washed my hair again and my curls are popping as good as ever. I came back to edit cos I think my curls look better than usual.. I will def do it again but I think it will only be when I feel like wearing it straight again. It def works if you want to wear hair straigh. However you still have to have a good blow-dry/ roller set or flat-iron technique. If you're flat ironing, use heat protection as well. Its no replacement for lack of technique though. If you cannot style properly, you will still have a frizzy bush on your head. If you're doing a wash and go with a gel or curl cream or if doing a twist or braid out, I think it could work well.
Thx for the details. Do you still use this?
Also, *BOTOX for **_HAIR is 🆕s_** to me! I had to Ggl to see what on Earth you were talking about, before sending this comment. Interesting!*
@@BL3SSed-Bliss I actually do it fairly regularly now with wash and go. I have a bit less frizz. I do it on my mom's hair. She is a blow-dried natural. It Def helps with a smooth look but as I said above you need to be able to style reasonably. I blow her curls and waves in. She is 3b/c, mostly b and her hair frizzes easily. But I get good results with this on her hair.
@@CurlyCrowie
Nice, thank you for your detailed feedback!
Hello, how often can you use this conditioner. Do you leave it in for 30 minutes to an hour and then rinse, and or do you wash your hair first, then use this treatment, rinse and style? Also, if you have product left, can you put the product in the refrigerator for 1 to 2 weeks weeks?
I am waiting for answers to these questions also.
Hello ,beutiful what Is your hair type .
Its work?
Yes I like it a lot !
The fact you said they use this in Brazil trips me out, because Brazilians are of African and indigenous descent as well... And when you see hair installs usually Brazilian hair is like our hair with a real good gel or hairspray. Its like the only reason people like that hair more than their own is because they put cornstarch on it , otherwise it would be an afro like how interesting
Can you leave it in?
I haven't tried it as a leave-in yet. 😊
No, when it dries it flakes
Thank you both.
@@Sunshine_Hime even with a little oil? Coz I don't mind the flakes if I get to keep the stretch.
@@arewahaircaretv8718 I'm not sure I've never tried it with oil.
❤😊
❤️❤️❤️🤗
Can this be left in the hair?
I'm not sure about this. I never tried this as a leave-in but I plan to experiment more with it. Will keep you updated !
@@Sunshine_Hime you can always sift it.
@@TheeMrsGrinch It doesn't work, I've tried it
@@Sunshine_Hime so you just use this as a conditioner to be washed out?
@@TheeMrsGrinch Yes, just use it to condition the hair and then rinse it off.
Can we mix it with potatoes???????
I just tried cornstarch gel. My hair did not like it it dried my hair and gave me an itchy scalp. So I will try again adding conditioner or coconut oil. There was less frizz but not much conditioning. I use your flaxssed gel recipe each week and the coconut milk which my hair loves🧑🦰🇦🇺🌹
My hair didn't feel right. It felt slightly course. But I blow dried and boy did it look good. See my pro pic. Next time I'll add a little conditioner I think
