I think the Zero Build update definitely deserves to be here. Without Zero Build, I don’t think the game would be as alive as it is now

I thought that zero build would be up here somewhere. So many big streamers came back to the game and started playing it. Zero build was so needed because everyone was so good at building and editing, that people who didn’t spend 8 hours a day playing creative might struggle. Sprinting and mantling is also huge.

My own honorable mention - the update that reversed the butchery of turbo build in season X. Without that the game definitely would have lost at least some of the playerbase
season 10 was horrible 😂 in my opinion
@@ItzMonta Season X had a lot of problems, but one of the best decisions they did during that time was recognizing that they messed up when they nerfed the rate of turbo build a day or two prior
Amazed that you didn't include the season 2 map update. When it dropped it was the first major change to the map and brought in a bunch of new POI, including tilted.

i was wondering bout the same, defo the buget uptade at the time.
Forgot to mention the update where they added sprinting and climbing, every player not uses those in every fight

I think the 7.40 update deserves at least top 5 in this list. I think that if this update didn't launch the game would've had a chance to die . We got so many needed patches to weapons like planes not destroying buildings anymore, deagel doesn't destroy one-shot wooden bulids anymore, traps now automatically placed with the bulid, you were now able to choose if you want to use zipline, etc... We also got the catch LTM, gray\green\blue Infantry rifle (although it was very bad at the start because it had projectile bullets), and we also got the valentine version of crossbows.
Finally, we got a huge thing:
SIPHON IN PUBS.
In addition, we also had the share the love creator 4x boost, which motivated so many creators that left for Apex (that was the time when it was made popular for the first time), to come back and stream the game and bring back a bunch of people to the game.
This update literally transformed the game by 180 degrees, from one of the most unbalanced eras of the game into one of the most fun ones.
Planes still destroyed builds. They just took a hell of a lot of damage when they did
And I think that was the pump shotgun update which literally EVERYONE LOVED.

I’m still very sad and upset they deleted my all time favorite gun... not just vault... they literally deleted it from the game entirely...

I'm very surprised that you didn't put chapter 2 season 2 in there, I think it made a very significant impact on the game.

My favorite update in fortnite was the Tony Stark update. The mid season island was the go too landing spot for the rest of that season getting insane loot
I would put zero build update somewhere in this list. I stopped playing late 2019 when the intensity in building got too sweaty and zero build brought me back along with a lot of other people

I personally think that turbo build is most important. No turbo build we'd be shot and just stand there not knowing what to do.

how the heck are you not going to add that one update where Reboot Vans first came into the game? Honestly, playings duos/squads at the time was so annoying when you or a teammate got killed off spawn. So glad there's still Reboot Vans in the game. Just an honorable mention.

i honestly think c2s2 in general was such a great launch, after a boring season you could play the best season filled with plenty of mythics. nothing else to say
i agree even the mythics were broken but not very broken
Season 2 Chapter 2 was one of the best updates for me, introduced the mythics and the bosses as well as tons of cool POI's and guns

they were modes that literally everyone was playing like operation knockout and payload
basically season 2 was season 4 but more original and no superpowers

You unlocked a lost memory, I just remember how much fun I had using thors hammer in team rumble, Landing at stark industries, glitching into the vault and waiting for people there, fun times
the fact that he had to explain how the old vending machines worked made me feel really old

7.40 deserve a lot of credits: Siphon, Plane nerf, Infantry rifle, Ice Melting
Stark Industries update was insane! (So sad most of my friends quit and never experienced that and many more amazing updates that came after it 😔)
I also remember c2s2 launch… it was amazing and felt so refreshing after months of nothingness in s1
Ya know in Chapter 2 I thought Paradise Palms was the POI I missed the most but now in Chapter 3 I think I miss Stark Industries more

i remember playing fort like a week after it came out with my brother.. when the 2017 fortnightmares update came out we literally stayed up 3 nights in a row playing and trying to get our first win it was crazy... miss those times

Why don’t epic make it so that if a car has a boot in it can be farmed just like the original cars before the joyride update? It would make metal a much easier resource to farm on this map.

Probably my top three updates would be the update in ch3 s1 where they dropped the Spider-Man mythic. They dropped this update completely out of the blue (well not completely, I mean people knew there would be a Spider-Man mythic coming) and introduced probably one of the best mythic weapons Fortnite had ever introduced, and it said the tone for the quality of updates in chapter 3.

What about the reboot vans? That was crazy when that got added
Don't disagree with any of these. Just shocked the update that introduced no building(which would become a permanent mode all on it's own in the matter of like 10 days), sliding and the spider man web shooters wasn't on this list. The amount of players that returned to Fortnite with the zero builds alone seemed like a big breath of fresh air for the game. Though I wouldn't say it was in danger of dying before that update, it certainly revitalized the game for a lot of players(past and present).

I'm just gonna say it. ch2 s4 was my favorite season of all time. This was when the lobbies weren't as sweaty, VERY fun Mythics, and also the map changes, and the vibes were immaculate.

I have to say chap1 season 4 was better. If you are saying ch2 I am assuming you didn’t get to play that season but it was amazing. The hop rocks and risky reels omg I miss it so much. And THANOS WAS SOOOOO FUN.

I completely agree with this and all of it is very informed… except that zero build is easily #2 by a landslide. #1 is justifiably above zero build. But seriously, zero build brought MILLIONS of players back to the game, and forever changed the outlook people have on Fortnite. It brought back icons of the game, and gave us a new way to experience fortnite. I also believe that creative and/or playground should have been included. Some people only PLAY fortnite for the creative experiences.

I feel like people don't give much respect to the mid season Stark Industry Update. That brought back a lot of players, and it was so fun with mythical powers and everyone had fun landing there

I also feel like one of the reasons Fortnite blew up was because of Emotes such as Take The L, Orange Justice and The Floss as these were trends which made Fortnite famous.
I feel like the stark industries update was the reason I enjoyed the beginning of the school year last year. I was dreading school starting but when this update came I loved the school year especially because that update was only like the 5th day of school or something like that.
Best update was when you could finally play duos and squads cross-platform
so many memories. Also back at 2017 when i was playing from iphone 6!
