This was a horrific day. The day care on the first floor of that office building was full of children. Many died. The memorial Oklahoma City built on the site is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen. There is a lite stone chair for each person that died. You can really see the number who died. Never heard this song before, so thank you for reacting to this.

I drove across the country back in the summer and stopped in Ok. City and walked around the memorial. It indeed is a beautiful memorial site, hallowed grounds. It was the only place I stopped and visited on my 2,400 mile drive.

Do they still have the stone chairs (that's what I called them) with the candles. I was there about 10 years ago at night and it was so peaceful there walking around them.

Wow, this is a gut punch.
I haven't heard this in a long time.
I remember clearly that day. I was 18 at the time.
Timothy McVeigh drove a truck with a bomb of diesel fuel and fertilizer and parked at the base of the federal building.
168 souls lost including 19 children.
Hundreds more buildings were destroyed or damaged.
It was at the time the worst terrorist attack on US soil.
    I'll never forget the images.
There was one of a firefighter carrying a dead infant in his arms that made headlines.
It is still burned in my brain. I prayed for him and what that did to him mentally, to all the first responders. 😢

That image of the firefighter is always the one that first comes to mind when I think back on this. I was in college and my friend and I were glued to the tv and skipped our classes to watch the coverage.

I was working at a local Veterans of Foreign Wars post when the news of this attack struck. I witnessed grown men who had proudly survived WW 2, Korea, Vietnam wars cry like babies. All of us spontaneously bowed our heads and prayed. Deeply troubling, emotional and touching moment shared, I’m sure, across our nation and the world. I still find it difficult to listen to this one. It brings tears ever time. Thank you for showing such respect, Craig, for your family “across the pond”.

This was sooo gut wrenching! I went to Texas to visit a friend. We went to Oklahoma to see her sister. She said the felt it a half an hour away. I bought a book & she drove us to the building! Have of it was missing. There was a fence all the way around!! You couldn't walk anywhere that gate without seeing stuffed animals & letter from sister's to brothers & vice versa!! It blew the windows out of places 5 blocks or more!! I cried the whole time!! I did buy a book & I took a piece of broken of a broken car. I do that no matter where I go. I usually do rocks. This time was different!! I will never forget that!! Plus that covered fencing! I don't know how they kept fitting more on that fence, but they did! I think I'll send more prayers! A lot of these survivors & family, will never stop grieving!! 🙏❤ Lord, please bring peace to the one's that lost people!! Prayers for all!! 😢❤

I remember the day this happened, I still lived in Texas not to far away from Oklahoma City, was getting ready to start Uni in a couple months...there was a daycare center on the first floor of the building and the news shots of little shoes scattered in the rubble still haunts me. How people can do such awful things to their fellow man and especially children...its something I'll never understand no matter how long I spend on this Earth. Probably one of if not my favorite Garth song. Great reaction Craig. ❤

Just 4 yrs. after this event, the May 3rd Bridge Creek tornado hit the Oklahoma City area. It had winds over 300+ mph. It had the fastest winds ever recorded on earth. So they had to deal with unbelievable destruction all over again. Some families who lost lived ones in the bombing, also lost loved ones in the tornado.

I can honestly say this is the first time I’ve seen this. So powerful.

Even though it has been almost thirty years, it shows just how resilient the people of this great country are.

Great reaction. I was born and raised in Oklahoma City, I was in the 5th grade when this happened a few miles away & I’ll never forget it. We were in music class & when the bomb went off it shook the whole building. We asked the teacher what that was but of course at that point he didn’t know. When we got back to our main class our teacher broke the news, the teachers were playing on the tv & it was unfiltered images that we couldn’t fathom at that age. I will never forget one boy in my class crying because his mom worked there. They worked hard to try to find out for him if she was okay, sadly she was not…

I live in Tulsa, was born in Oklahoma City...my young teenage kids were less that 2 miles from the Federal Building when the bomb went off. They felt the percussion from it. I wasn't able to get in touch with either of them or their teachers for more than 2 hours...excruciating doesn't come near the feeling of terror I felt. This event changes us all...but for the better!! Thanks for hearing Garth at his finest!

This song brings me to tears every time I hear it. I remember that horrible day. Will never understand what makes someone blow up a building, kill so many innocent people just because they don't agree with what the government is doing. Timothy McVeigh drove all the way from Michigan to Oklahoma to set off that bomb. They did catch him, put him on trial and eventually execute him for this horrific act.

The blast was so powerful we felt it in Dallas. We initially thought it was an earthquake. When I got off work I found out something significantly different. I was absolutely devastated. The People Magazine with the pictures of all the little children who lost their lives on that day literally broke me. Absolutely horrific, it was beyond what my mind could comprehend, at the time. 911 surpassed that in seeing what evil exists in this world.

Sux that Garth pulls his music from CZcams but his music is amazing! My rockin’ favorites from Garth are That Summer; Standing Outside the Fire; Ain’t Goin’ Down (‘Til the Sun Comes Up); Callin’ Baton Rouge; Rodeo; and Two of a Kind, Workin’ on a Full House. My emotional favorites of his are If Tomorrow Never Comes; Unanswered Prayers; Wolves; What She’s Doing Now; The River; Learning to Live Again; That Ol’ Wind; Somewhere Other Than The Night; Much Too Young (To Feel This Damn Old); The Dance; She’s Every Woman; and In Lonesome Dove. But his most powerful songs are Mom; The Thunder Rolls; The Night I Called The Old Man Out; We Shall Be Free; and The Change.

He was almost ostracized from the country music industry with that song. The concept that people deserve to not be hungry & homeless & we should take care of each other just set a lot of people off as “too liberal.” I never understood why my parents suddenly threw away all their GB cassettes & refused to let us listen to him anymore when I was a kid. As an adult, I’m extremely disappointed in them for that.
