  • The first day of June saw a great variety of classic traction heading to the West Country. In the form of 40013 'Andania' working the English Riviera Express as far as Taunton. Then LNER B1 61306 'Mayflower' would take over the leg to Kingswear, as seen at Dawlish. Also spotted on the sea wall at Dawlish Warren was D1015 'Western Champion', masquerading as D1011 'Western Thunderer' on the one side. This was the first time the wizzo had hauled a tour into Devon for a number of years. The occasion being the Paignton Airshow, which lead to additional running on the Dartmouth Steam Railway, supplied by 37703. The first public running day since the loco arrived on the line last October. Running alongside the 37 was newly overhauled GWR 4-6-0 Manor Class, 7827 'Lydham Manor'. Thanks for watching.
