Everyone remembers the songs they heard and fell in love with as a kid that, when they listen to as an adult, makes them feel like a kid all over again. My daughter is six, and last week, this became her first experience with falling in love with a song.
We listen to tons of music together, and she has a lot of favorite bands and songs. When she heard this for the first time, she asked me, "Why does this song make me feel like I'm floating?" and listened to it at least five times in a row. She's never asked to listen to a song more than once.
Thank you so much for creating this moment and memory for me and my daughter, James Mercer and Brian Burton. I'm terminally ill, so every day is far more important and urgent than I could have ever imagined.

I always pull up the lyrics for her, because she loves to sing, and to understand the lyrics. I love that girl more than I could ever even begin to describe.
This is such an important moment. I'm glad you experienced this. She'll remember of this song a few years ahead and remember of you with her, for sure.

After the dark times comes the light once more, but be prepared to fight for the light, be prepared to fight for the good times, for once you are past the darkness.

It's so weird seeing people say that this song is out of their usual style... like, this sounds just as broken bells as they always sound. It's very good!
Im not that fond of " Shelter" but "Good Luck" is so cool ☺️. It sounds a bit like a combination of their two previous album.
I think it's a great and deep song. The sound is flawless, but simple. The simplicity makes it so beautiful.
Is it sad that I really have zero affinity for the Shins, but I love this band? Seriously, from the day I heard Broken Bells I've been infatuated with them. So many good songs, and the albums have great flow, like they were put together intentionally, not just dumping the songs into a bag and pulling 10 or whatnot out at random.

But I could maybe see how Broken Bells could be a good bridge between the music you tend to favor and what kind of stuff James Mercer is capable of. That said, "Wincing the Night Away" is probably the album that falls closest to what the Shins have that sounds anything like Broken Bells.
This song was presented for me by a girl who i fell in love with. We had a lot in common, including our taste in music. Since then, this masterpiece got into my list of favourites songs of all time. And it's just so good to hear 'cause besides the good feeling that the music brings, i just can feel the love flowing. I really love this song and is heartwhelming to have known it from a girl that i love too.
I don’t usually comment on songs but this has easily been the best song I’ve ever heard, I’ve listened to it probably over 100 times over the past 3 days I’ve learned of this band (other songs are bangers) every time I listen it’s like I’m listening to it for the first time. This song is genuinely changing my life and makes me enjoy everything like it’s my first time. Good luck is one of those songs that makes you remember how good it is to be alive and appreciate the small things like smiling at strangers or seeing the sun rise in the morning. Truly a masterpiece, thanks Broken Bells.
My whole life i was never really into music and broken bells was one of the first bands ive ever got into. And since then ive realized i have a love for music. This really should have been the main theme song used in Borderlands 3... the first time I heard this song was in February 2020. It fit the end of the world feel so well with empty streets and chaos.
