It won't have anything to do with the food being fresh or not, it's purely to do with being in a calorie deficit. Take in less calories than you burn then yes, you will lose weight.

Then why did all these Italians come to America and there still coming here my wife and I are both in good shape u just got to watch what u eat. Kids have more money here to spend on junk. Most people over there don't have the money so yes they grow there own. If your a vegan here in the US there's ways to make your soil good for planting vegetables. There's an actress that's really into health and vegan and shows how she and her husband do their soil. Buy because if my wife and my age we must be doing something right.

@@bobs1356 The soil is messed up in the USA because everybody uses Round Up to kill weeds on their yard and it is heavily advertised, so it is accepted. Everything they do in the USA is for money. They don't care about the people's health. The FDA is not even regulating food well because there is not much money in it for them like there are in drugs. Hence why people in the USA who are truly healthy have to be good at reading food labels. I mean GMO has to be labeled and known in Europe for food companies, but not in the USA. Hence why most of the food fraud happens in the USA because FDA don't have strict food regulations.

Olive oil has more calories than butter.

    • @Humpelstilzchen
      @Humpelstilzchen Před 25 dny +3

      @@mikehawk302 That's true but calories aren't everything...
There are 3 main points in favor of olive oil compared to butter. Firstly, olive oil has a better fatty acid composition than butter, as it consists primarily of unsaturated fatty acids (such as those found in fish, avocados and nuts). Background: Unsaturated fatty acids have several double bonds between the carbon atoms. In comparison, there are saturated fatty acids (such as those found in butter, cream and sausage), where there are no double bonds between the carbon atoms. Unsaturated fatty acids are therefore more reactive and can be used in a variety of ways in the metabolism. The German Nutrition Society therefore recommends replacing saturated fatty acids with unsaturated fatty acids. This reduces the risk of coronary heart disease and the cholesterol concentration in the blood. Secondly, olive oil contains vitamin K, vitamin E, provitamin A and, above all, polyphenols. Background: Polyphenols are natural antioxidants that slow down the formation of free radicals in the body and counteract oxidative stress and cell damage. They are antioxidant, blood pressure regulating and anti-inflammatory.

As an Italian living abroad, I'm often asked "why don't Italians get fat?", or "how can you eat so much?", etc. (disclaimer: I am a very thin person 😆) It got to the point I started doubting our diet and culinary choices.
However, I soon realized that what non-Italians often perceive or think about our diet is not so true. You very well explained it in the video, talking about our breakfasts, lunches and dinners.
Living in Slovakia, I realized that e.g. they might not always eat pizza and pasta (it's a common misconception that Italian always eat that anyway), but they eat very fatty foods, being it cheeses, butters, meats, etc. and the same applies to many tasty dishes from all over north/northeast Europe, or with fast food, etc.
Fizzy drinks is also something very common 'abroad', while we normally only drink water with our daily meals - especially at home!

a lot of americans sit all day, drive all day, and then the food we eat is not whole and is totally processed.
i’m one of those americans and i hate that our country was built for companies and not people. but i’m learning to make it work!!

#1 thing is that Italy does NOT spray their wheat with folic acid, which is a poison and does not convert into folate.

Ciao Bella! What would an Italian bring to work for lunch? Or does everyone go home to eat? Unfortunately in Canada the huge majority of people have to travel anywhere from half an hour to an hour or maybe more. There's no way to go home for lunch

Hello Irene, thank you for another great video! today I have a question, kind of asking for your advise, I am looking for a guide for one day in Verona on May 16, 2024 and I was wondering if you are interested in doing that or if you can recommend someone to me. I don't know what part of Italy you live at but I thought maybe you be close to Verona! Before you ask I did checked online but most guides either did not responded to my email or they were booked. Can you please help me.

I went to Italy and was the lowest weight I ever been. It’s not how they eat their glycemic level in bread is lower. They do not put sugar in their bread. It’s a lot
Of health codes. Just better food. Nothing to do with what they actually do.

I'm from the US and have been here in Italy for about one year, the food is so good and much better quality. Italians look much healthier and are very beautiful. I was in Milan recently and noticed a large crowd of people waiting on the sidewalk and thought they might be in line for an art exhibit or a club but turns out it was a McDonald's!!! I hope US fast food and large chains do not come over here and ruin things.

We move and walk a lot, mainly balanced meals, yet we tend to overeat sweets and cake a bit to much for my liking. I have eggs or something savory for breakfast just to get some protein in the morning. If I just have carbs it will leave me hungry really soon.

Italy 🇮🇹 is a beautiful country especially the almalfi coast. Plus the food has fresh ingredients and it’s delicious. Italians don’t eat sweets everyday as well. The pasta is healthier in Europe than America. Sugar is very addictive so I stay away from sugar.
