First of all - Ukraine is our allies, and US legally has to defend it and send weapons there, the whole process is backed up by many agreements on paper

You could stop the war your way, if Ukraine was the one who invaded russia, and the west was supplying Ukraine with money and weapons
If you really want to stop the war - you gotta send MORE weapons there, because if putin takes Ukraine and you "stop the war" this way, there will pop another 2-3 wars with Poland, Latvia, Estonia, and other smaller countries that were helping Ukraine
I suggest you going over the history of the second world war - you'll find a lot of similarities with modern russia. Big difference now is that this time we have a chance to stop everything before it starts

That is not true, Ukraine and Russia are not brotherly nations. Ukrainians are not Russians. I have heard and seen many Ukrainians interviewed on this subject and they do not think
that they are Russians. They strongly believe that they have a distinctively different country and culture.
Vladimir Putin who is a dictator, believes that Ukrainians are "little Russians" and that Ukraine is not really a country. He believes that Ukraine has no right to exist independently from Russia.
If anyone goes to Ukraine and expresses those ideas, they will get a very bad reception. That in and of itself, strongly demonstrates that Ukrainians are not a part of Russia. If some Ukrainians ever felt good will towards Russia, that was very probably ended forever when Russia foolishly invaded Ukraine.
If this was a 1-for-1 exchange, why not cover both sides?

Only at the end of the report do we learn that 115 Russian conscripts returned to their side, exactly as many as to the Ukrainian side. This makes the report not very factual and neutral but at least the information was included. When there is a prisoner exchange, it would seem normal to immediately give the terms of the exchange.
