Thankyou for making this video, I was most impressed by the production values, and Neil pretending to be a shopkeeper. I thought he was very good, and didn’t ham up his role at all. He was authentic and understated. I don’t like lawn mowers myself.
Urgh....It was like an avalanche in a sugar factory. So 80s, so wet, so cheesy. Hearing it again is nostalgic though. Sort of. For me it was one of those soppy, sappy songs always played on Radio stations, that you had to sit through in the hope of them playing something that you actually liked or was good. I know they had fans, I was not one of them. Having said that, it really is a part of the decade now looking back. Along with groups like Ah Ha and the Thompson Twins etc....
Haha - I dunno, I really liked it for some reason. I used to buy some random music back then, including this one. I was looking at what was in the charts in April 1988 and was drawn to it straight away. 😁
Thanks for this Seb. Your Sinclair wasn't my regular magazine, but I remember the review and that it later appeared for free. I wasn't aware of the "hilarious" legal letters, though. That was quite funny. That shopkeeper has a nice cave of retro gear, has he thought of starting a CZcams channel?
I thoroughly enjoyed this...I know I may very well be in a minority here but I actually think Advanced Lawnmower Simulator is a good game. Not because of its superior "graphics" or scintillating "sound" but because it embodies many of the ingredients that made many of those 8 bit era classics so idiosyncratically good: take a mundanely simplistic activity - mowing the lawn - and transform it into a game of skill and dexterity. Consider Trashman, Cookie, Poster Plaster, Super Pipeline...the list goes on!
Your Sinclair was my go to mag and I remember this as a giveaway - Awesome. Batty was the GOAT of giveaways and I didn't even mind the "Hold my hand (Vey tightly)" song :D
Christ I remember that copy of YS with Indiana Jones on the front. They had a competition for the best sketch of Indiana and the prize was getting it printed on the cover. Some kid won, and. 3 days later I picked up a copy of the Raiders novel in a charity shop, and that exact picture was on the front. The little shit that won didn't do an original work, he just copied a picture from a book.
That Neil character looks a bit dodgy at the RMC shop. He looks like one of those people who would hire someone called Mark. (they probebly claim to fix computers, too)
Set another good video really enjoyed watching this you may be interested in the Game of the Year award which I have posted on Facebook which is run by load ZX and don't quote me on this but I believe is in Belarus categories will be announced in English as well as Portuguese and French you might find it a fascinating watch
A parody then, now it's an actual game! Only 20 bob on Steam! And there's DLC! The cover is really for the "oo-er" game Vixen innit? I shouldn't know that.
@@SebsPlaceYT I even own the game, as it was in Humble Choice! TBH the Spectrum game seems more exciting with the random insults and getting killed for no reason.
I can top your flymo story, I was rushing about last year attempting to do 5 jobs at once. Managed to spin around with the mower and run over a bag of dog poo, I'm fairly sure you can imagine the mess 💩🤮. Still a better game than renegade 3
Why so for-lawn, surely there are worse games?…..........im still thinking 🤣 Amazing what was past off as entertainment back then lol. Must say, i never found a copy in the wild either 😎😉
£28 sounds like a bargain, we're now fully stocked
😂 I'll check on my next visit!

Thank you for remembering the great Climie Fisher with their excellent song Love Changes Everything.
Love that song! 🥰

Nice to have RMC Neil featured in your video.
Yes it was! 🥰

😂😂 cheers! I'll ask him, might be on to something there 😆😆
Another fine video. I used to love the Your Sinclair humour, the overall quality was a step down from crash but it was much funnier
Thank you, totally agree!

Very True!! 😊
Glorious work, sir!
Much less bovver with a hover!
Thank you and very true!!
It's great that you did a video about this.
Cheers!
Love it. Laughed a lot at this one 😂
I had an Acme Lawn-Ace. Did a good job of the garden for me.
😂😂

Haha - I had forgotten about that till recently. It's erm... interesting 😁

😂😂 little shit. Brilliant. It's probably my favourite cover just because it's a bit crap but it works at the same time.
That shop looks great!
Check out his channel- RMC the Cave. Honestly, it's one of my favourites! The shop is brilliant
I got the Amiga conversion free with a copy of Amiga Power. They didn't do much to improve the graphics though...
What's to improve? 🙃
Still no yellow sun. @@SebsPlaceYT
"They changed Line 10!"
😲
@@SebsPlaceYTyou should have highlighted the actual joke on that bit that all they edited to make it their game was the copyright line 😂
Hover Bover on the C64 is a work of art in comparison!
😂😂
I'm just sad we didn't get the 'de-skidmarking the toilet bowl' simulator.
😂
ALS is still a classic to this day. Its up there with Hold My Hand Very Tightly...both back in the day would be classic memes
🤣🤣
What kills you? Does the lawnmower turns around and ravages you?!
That's what is so cool about the game. Let your imagination decide 😁
Great stuff. !:) I remember this game well
Thanks for the visit
What's Corinne Russell from the Vixen cover art doing there!?!
😂 no idea mate....gardening I think...
I have wanted this for years!!!!!!
Did you find it on eBay?
Any tips on obtaining it please?
Try your local garden centre 😉
Firefly! An awesome game from Jof. Very unique and also very slick.
I made a video about it awhile ago. Brilliant game!

😂😂 did you see Marks' last video about a missing Atari key? Comedy gold!
@@SebsPlaceYT OMG, he pulled out all the acting stops for that one. 🤣
Lol. Yep. Brilliant

😁😁 yeah, I didn't know if I should mention its modern-day versions or just leave it to the story back then. Is indeed Vixen, well done 😄😄😄

Cheers mate! COYS!
Great video!
Thanks!
Still more entertaining than cutting the Actual grass.
100% 😄
Great video
Thanks!
I seem to recall the lawnmower simulator game won the worst game awards one year. Isn’t this the point I’m probably missing about this game?
Lol yeah it's supposed to be shit 😁

It’s not for casual gamers mind you
Very true!
But, I hate corned beef sarnies.
Me too! My grandad would always offer me corned beef. Better than Spam I guess, but still gross.....
