So, here's a little tidbit: She worked with Sturcken and Rogers on this album...the very people who discovered Rihanna. Does the look she has and clothing from the album look familiar? Rihanna dressed the same way. Look at the short hair do and some of the outfits she wore on this album. It's what became the Rihanna style. However, she made it her own, evolved and became the artist she wanted to be. It's not the producer who gives the artist success. The artist better have what it takes if they want longevity. They have to have great vision and be willing to lay themselves and their talent bare if they want to make an impact. After all, she had one hit on the album and one on her debut. Nia can say she is a two hit wonder at least, but she didn't really have what it takes for a decades long career in the music business. She said herself she didn't have much direction. Jimmy Jam and Terry have always said what a big part Janet played on each of the albums they did together, so for Nia to say that is a mean girl tactic if ever there was one. Vanessa Williams was her label mate on Mercury and they threw all of their resources and publicity into Nia because they were sure she'd be more successful. We all see how that turned out...lol. Vanessa had a vision and new what she wanted to do with her debut project. Chose the photographer for the album, wrote songs and dealt with horrible, shameful interviews during that time and yet she persevered. Nia should've known better than to have those words come out of her mouth.
