      Any law or regulation that holds him back is declared "phony," any news that puts him in an unfavorable light (i.e. news from any source other than Fox or OAN) is "fake", and his worshippers just lap it up. It's actually kind of incredible the country has survived 3 1/2 years of this.

      There are so many things that if any other president did it we would be beating him up months later for doing it and saying it. The volume from Trump of horrific is insane.

      @@andyb1653 Have to remember, it's all about the economy! Everything else can go to hell as long as the economy is doing fantastic. Take a look at the polls on who is better at the economy. Who started the Trade Wars and drove up prices on goods we buy here? It sure seems funny that everyone forgot that Obama reversed the big recession that Bush and the Republican congress caused in the first place.
      Also the economy favors big business and wealthy investors who can buy millions of dollars in stocks and bonds, etc. If you said you were better off because of the economy, then how so? You got a dollar or bit more per hour in your salary? Did anyone put it into a pension plan or spend it right away? How many living from paycheck to paycheck? What was the total for the year? $600, maybe a bit more? Did that make anyone rich? People worship the economy over everything else unless we are fighting a PATRIOTIC war which Bush and others pushed. Our national debt is well over $22 trillion dollars, so how long will it take to pay that down? Your children? Their children? Whose children's children?
      Let's face the facts, everyone posting here will be long dead before that debt will ever be erased. But... but... it's all about the economy!?

      @Flightof2Owls - as a UK resident who has only been following Beau for just under a year, I defer of course to your explanation - I just never considered the channels title to be so literal due to the historical and political significance of 'Fifth Columnists' in general and their roles undermining the prevailing authorities. While individual examples may not come across as generally positive, I would hope the term itself would have enough intellectual neutrality that Beau could be seen as a genuine, positive contemporary example of such, making powerful use of the weapons of words and truth as opposed to the violence in historic examples.

After a certain amount of time and most likely when you're not around or not looking. If you don't sow, no one will reap.       I can totally relate and am also the only one in my family who didn’t vote for him. I started speaking out about politics for the first time ever on FB during the run up to the 2016 election because I was so outraged. It seemed obvious to me it would be horrible for our county but even so I am shocked at the level, magnitude, & exact nature of horrifying it has actually turned out to be. Even worse, I’m terrified of what’s to come because I think most of us know it’s about to get a lot worse. I was ashamed of my parents for the very first time in my 45 years of life after their vote & support of him after all the things he’s done for decades that are known to the public-most especially being a huge & vile racist..I desperately want to believe they’ve realized over the last 3 1/3 years that they made huge error in judgement and regret their vote, but to be totally honest I’m too afraid to ask them. I’m scared to hear their answer. If I knew for sure they plan to vote for him again I’d be so angry, and absolutely heartbroken permanently. We’ve never had an altercation over it per say like many families have, but it’s sure put a lot of distance between us & we communicate much less now. This is also includes my sister who’s my only sibling so it’s kinda been those three getting together often & me standing alone. And I’m okay with standing alone on this one because I feel it’s totally justified. I can live with myself & also look my kids in the eye knowing I made a choice that was positive for their futures and what is right. It’s so sad it had to come to all this though for so many families in the “United” states. Our family is certainly not alone that’s for sure & life is short-especially short these days. 💔

    In 2017, i was at natural bridge in Virginia where they had a Jefferson reenactor read the declaration. It was pretty incredible and very concerning how well it seemed to parallel our grievances against this current administration.

      Right on! The Declaration of Independence mentions God as "Nature's God," "the Creator" and "the Supreme Judge of the world." Nothing about Jesus. The God, as referenced in the Declaration, is sometimes referred to as a "watchmaker god"- in other words, a god who created the Universe and then walked away, having nothing else to do with it. The Constitution, on the other hand, makes no reference to god or God whatsoever. If we were intended to be a Christian nation, there sure isn't much in the way of a paper trail to prove it....and the history of our actions as a nation doesn't indicate a whole lot in the way of Christian values. So we are a nation of people who CALL themselves Christian, and that's about it.

      naturalized citizens have to pass a basic civics exam. perhaps the "right" to vote should be amended to a privilege after first passing the same exam a naturalized citizen faces. a license to vote. an uninformed vote is as dangerous to liberty as a drunk driver is to everyone else's safety.

    I had just looked into the list of grievances, immediately prior to the lockdowns, in comparison to all of American history, but I struggled to not weight it towards 45. Since the lockdowns, and especially the protests, the words are a haunting reminder of how far we've divulged from what we claim to stand for in efforts to work towards it...

      Do not confuse the lockdowns entirely with the rest. Pandemic response has to start there as medical personal and scientists figure out what rules, recommendations, testing, and equipment they need. They need time to load up for the fight coming.
      Its gotten as bad as it has now cause you didnt do it fast enough and now hospitals in effected areas need full shutdown by everyone in your nation to insure after they get their hot spot contained enough to actually DO those things, before they are ready the rest of yall dont accidentally spark the tinder and start a second blast.
      NYC is a prime example.
      You wouldnt go into a gun fight without ammo..why you wanna send your health system into one?
      Cause thats what the valid comparison was and is in some places.
      America needed 1 country, not 50 states, on this. That word 'United?' Needed to be true.
      It wasnt and now places like NYC paid the price.
      A city like that who in my own 28 year lifetime i can say has gotten dick kicked enough. They dont deserve this. No one does but especially not them.
      America as a nation, Americans as a people need to do better. Period.

      @@Sinaeb yes so Trumps a moron. What im saying is dont count the lockdowns the same way. They started as cause and effect, if theyd been started as early as Obamas plan stated it should youd all have barely noticed as things woulda been done in quick, smooth and responsive stages.
      Its cause and effect and trump trying to hamfist his way into authoritarian power by poking chaos and using it for a power grab, without realizing chaos has a nasty habit of poking back if you bother it to much. Hard.
      But these stages woulda all been done but spread over months, and no full lockdown woulda ever occurred likely. Cluster areas would had the rubber band sort of effect but nothing like what your nation is doing now.
      And this starts at the top. But dont just knock them out and let others exactly like them in different suits call the shot. Learn from this and do what your military has as its catchphrase. And i think should be the slogan for america instead of that 'One nation under God' shit. Burn that garbage. Thats an unlocked door for facism.
      Use the military's four word one for how to deal with challenges, how to think critically. Its far more fitting the best American heritage, the Machinery for Change.

      @@shawnr771 The 3/5 compromise was not because of opposition to slavery. It was because slave owners wanted to get extra representation from slaves, but they didn't believe slaves should be counted as people. So they counted the slave as 3/5 of a person.

      Jerrystolk. Some of the founders were rich, most of the rich had slaves or servants. But the majority of people who actually settled this country were poor. Indentured servants, English prisoners etc. Later waves of poor from many countries that simply had no where else to go ..... And WERE NOT welcome here either. From your post you must be the ancestor of a slave. I know a few myself. My best friend and I were driving around one day and she said my Grandma worked there as a slave. ( pointing out a large house) we got to driving and talking about what she remembered and what her folks had told her. A whole world I hadn't heard of. She wasn't nearly as upset about the past as she was about the present. That drive took place 20 years ago. Things have gotten worse since then. Myself, my grandfather had been conscripted in one army after another to finally escape to the USA in the late 1800's. How he got his family here I'll never know but it wasn't easy as there was no generational wealth. Just saying that not everyone here had it easy or was a slave owner. That's racist also

    Well, since the Boston Tea Party was a protest against undue corporate influence in politics, and the Founders fought the Revolution to escape clutches of what they considered to be a tyrannical foreign government, I'm pretty sure they would have intensely *disliked* Don Cheeto Corleone.

      The Boston Tea Party was a protest against taxation and recognized monopoly which the colonist considered a violation of their rights. So a group of protesters boarded the ships disguising themselves as Indians taking it upon themselves to destroy the tea. Those protesters that were caught were punished by the other colonists. Then the Intolerance Act was passed as punishment from the British which is what started the Revolution War. Therefore if comparing the Boston Tea Party to current situations the founding fathers would be leaning more Republican.

    Here is the list : The founding fathers wrote about King George III and why we became independent.
    He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.
    He has forbidden his Governors to pass Laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation till his Assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them.
    He has refused to pass other Laws for the accommodation of large districts of people, unless those people would relinquish the right of Representation in the Legislature, a right inestimable to them and formidable to tyrants only.
    He has called together legislative bodies at places unusual, uncomfortable, and distant from the depository of their public Records, for the sole purpose of fatiguing them into compliance with his measures.
    He has dissolved Representative Houses repeatedly, for opposing with manly firmness his invasions on the rights of the people.

      Forgetting the people that built the systems to make this country is like claiming "I only got a small loan of a million dollars". We didn't make this 'our country', we were gifted it just because we happened to be born here.
      Yes, it's up to us to make it a better place, to surpass the ideals of those founders, but we still must rely on those documents and systems they set in place to achieve it.

      I'm not saying that it has to maintain being a democratic republic, or that we have to >always< use the constitution forever and ever til no more US. I'm saying that it was the starting point and the current system we have in place is the way to change it.
      Get your pitchforks, sure, but unless you're actively preaching a bloody revolution, the way toward forward progress is using that flexible framework and getting there.
      The alternative is rounding up the dissidents (by your standards) and trying to kill the idea by removing the minds that possess it.

      ...I don't think you see what I'm getting at anyway.
      We could create a brand new charter for our country.
      *The fetishism is thinking we must use our old constitution as rulebook for making that new charter for the new one to be somehow legitimate.*
      Because our old constitution is invested with sacred meaning, right?
      *Well, that's not clearheaded thinking. That's giving it a religious sort of significance.*
      Nope, the people have to democratically accept the national charter, whatever it is decided to be, as legitimate.
      That's all.
      This doesn't require killing anybody, and if you genuinely believe it's either accept this document as the sole way forward OR start stacking bodies...You're putting waaay too much into a 200+ year old piece of paper.
      I'm not even advocating dumping it.
      I'm advocating not turning it into a roadblock to progress because we think it's some sacred, incontrovertible thing. It's not. If it is not working for us, it should be revised or replaced.

      Yes I have heard of the 43 Alumni and I live what they are doing as well. Helps my leftist hippie heart to see this.
      When I woke up the morning that Lord Cheeto was crowned I cried. Not that I was ever a Hilary fan....far from it.
      But I said then and still do "I have fought all my life for social justice and have never been further from it." People like Beau and all of his supporters give me hope that I won't die still saying that. My husband is a Iraq vet. Both of us would lay down our lives to support the true progress of our country and it's hard to see what the Wrongs (can't say right because they are far from it) are doing to it.
