It’s hard for you to comment when you were not there. The silver 200 weighs easily 400kg if not more than any of the other cars (sits on its 4.2 tonne gvm) The allowed it to stay in the bottom of the river and not float ( why it was the first car to cross and used to tow other cars accross in some cases) The lighter cars needed to hit it quicker than the “text book” says to use a bit more momentum to get them through the deeper parts and avoid floating down stream into the bank on the other side
