Many years ago, my son and me picked up stones on the beach. ( in Goa, India). I didn't know anything about it. I kept it because I like decorating. Put stones in pots and vases. Today, its thrill to look at it. Some agates some jasper's. But it still looks pretty in pots and vases. Thanks to your video, I'm learning a lot. It's a fascinating thing. For those who have the chance of having this as a hobby, it's great. Have fun , collecting the pretty gifts from nature. Good health to all. Wish you all the very best.
Omg 😮 thank you for sharing your wonderful video on how to identify precious stones I’m definitely going to keep an eye out once I’m back home Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 “Gracias”👍🙏👏👏👏🇵🇷🇵🇷😍😍 , I enjoyed watching you picking up these stones like a huge kid 🧒 in a candy store .
@@BackYardGardeningTip Ha ha. Do what I do. I load up the pack with rocks and then hand it to my friend and tell him it's full of beer, and he will carry it to the car for you.
@@saltpepperketchup7082 HaHa... I don't have any friends... well ones who are willing to walk as long and as far as I do. Not even my wife will walk with me unless it's a place I can't find rocks. :)
Oh, wish you could send some to me. Loved watching this video. And felt like picking up all the beautiful coloured ones. That's a super collection. Cheers
Believe it or not, most of the agates I find are in bags of river rock and pebbles that you find in any garden center. I usually get my bags from Wal-Mart because it's the closet to me and they are only $3.99 a 40 pound bag! You do have to wash all the rock but I find so many that it is a joy to sit out on a nice sunny day, on my rolling cart, sit down with the hose and wash the rocks, in the bags they come in. Just stick the hose in the bag ( all the bags have tiny holes in them ) rinse them, the water drains out through the tiny holes and just start picking. Some of them are huge in the bag of river rocks but in the river pebbles they are small. Lots of fun and I have a huge collection! When we were vacationing in the Smokey Mountains, my husband and I go into rivers and streams and I found a near perfect 3-4 pound river agate, smooth from being tumbled down the river. Yellow in color and when you shine a flashlight through it, it's translucent through most of it and opaque in the middle, because it is so huge! Enjoyed your video. Wish we had rocky beaches here on the East Coast but the ones we do have are much too far for this old girl, to get to. Have a great time agate hunting! 😉😊
I’m your typical Myrtle beach guy, so where are rocky beaches in the east to find rocks for tumbling. I’m new to tumbling and your idea of rocks from wal-mart is genius since it is brought in...never thought of that! Thanks!
I find my best days to hunt for agates to be days with some mist and slight rain. The moisture on the agates only causes them to stand out with greater brilliance compared to the surrounding dull quartz, basalt or jasper.
Thank you for sharing 🤗 lived in Washington my entire life and always seen these rocks and sea glasses. Just never knew till now how to create. I’m actually going to the shore memorial weekend! Bringing a bucket! Hope I can ask u questions on how to polish them and prep them. Thank you so much
If I lived near a beach like these (especially the pebble beaches) I would be bringing buckets of interesting rocks home each time. Definitely would have to learn the art of wire wrapping. Sadly I live several hours away from the shore.
Wish I could come across such a place! Here in Finland I only know of some amethyst mines that allow you to come see them, but they're all the way in Lapland, and you couldn't go looking for nice things yourself even there. I've found a few nice things on roadsides and fields but that's it. Maybe one day!
I love agate. Here, in the state of Maryland, these agates don't exist - at least none that I have found. However, I do find a lot of agatized coral called Favosites that come in translucent colors, like what you show here, but with with honeycombs. One day I cam going to polish up my collection, or make some jewelry out of it.
Great video!!! They all looked so pretty, I would have taken the whole beach with me. I just found a few stones in my backyard but I don't know how to classify them 😅 I want to know if they are crystals to use for my meditation or just plain rocks
I looked up your area on the Internet and there are Agates in the Gurasada, Romania area. The Mures Vally is reported to have agates also. Let me know if you find some in your country!
well yes Tim they are , but they aren't :) , they are dull in color like brown etc...and don't look like agates to me :) .. I like colors and patterns so no chance for me ...and yes in north is the best way to find some stones ..to bad is so far from my town ..Brasov ! ,I love stones and I collect them since I was a kid ..I'm 31 now and I want to build a lapidary machine to cut some agates and polish them as a hobby ..the sad part is I have to buy them from internet ...and on ebay from US to Romania I pay more for the shipment then the stone itself ! :) , have a good day and I will wait more videos , well done cya

We have been creating sea glass earrings and necklaces for about a year now. Our etsy.com store is "pnwbeachtreasures" - for now we only have sea glass related jewelry but would like to start using some of our agates. Thanks for the comments.

Such awesome pieces, they really stand out. The rain makes all of them look good enough to take home. Such a beautiful beach, thanks for sharing 👍🏼
