It was an honest mistake and I have no idea how it happened.

What a great video! I didn’t know Mega Rayquaza could be so strong!
Hi wolfey! :3
Underrated comment
It’s such an obscure Pokemon, so there’s no way someone as new to the Pokemon scene as you has even heard of it, much less used it or anything 🙂🙃🙂
Who would’ve guessed? Even when not supported by Kyogre in 2016 he’s still the goat!
I always love seeing underrated Pokémon like Mega Rayquaza get to shine for once 😊
"Strong Pokémon. Weak Pokémon. That is only the selfish perception of people. Truly skilled Trainers should try to win with Mega Rayquaza."

Strong Pokémon. Weak Pokémon. That is only the selfish perception of people. Truly skilled Trainers should try to win with their favorites...
...but just in case, having a Booster Energy Iron Valiant in the back is always a good idea
Ah, but you see Karen, my favorites just so happen to be Landorus-Therian, Kingambit, Volcorona, Toxapex, Blissey, and Iron Valiant.

It didn't even occur to me that this was an April Fools joke. I thought it was just Alpharad being Alpharad.

It took me longer than it should have to realize 🤣

I don't know what's significant about the 2nd of April, but this run looks really challenging. Congratulations from Australia!

Alpharad truly is humble. He didn't even mention the fact that by choosing a Mega evolved pokemon, he wouldn't be able to use any other mega evolutions in battle. This is a SEVERELY impactful strategic loss.
Not to mention, the other starters EVOLVE! Any other starter is like 200% stronger by the end of the game due to evolutions, but Mega Rayquaza doesn't get any such power boost. Such a disadvantage
Let's not forget that megas can't hold items
This is furthermore a severe strategic loss
@@theonetheycallheadspace2899 rayquaza can iirc because it mega evolves with a move.
@@mayar404_ its a strategic loss in our hearts

Evil Alpharad: "Grinding is based. Cheating is cringe."
I’m sure that sentence made a certain person happy lmao
Even funnier since he cheated in his starter. I did the math and you can’t get that mon with that nature and move-set as a starter.
@@Ailleas What? No way. Next you’re gonna tell me mega rayquaza isn’t even a choosable starter in Pokémon emerald.

Quick Claw Extremespeed is such an underrated strat.
Bruh
It's great when the Quick Claw proc makes the speed even more extreme
@sielklavar And the speed being even more extreme should also mean that the Extremespeed gets even stronger.
Ok but unironically it would let Rayquaza beat other Extreme Speeds and that’s hilarious

This has to be one of my favorite April Fools videos. Pokes a bit of fun at cliche challenge videos while also having a ton of great gags (“I was worried about Swablu Mega Evolving” was so good)
Sheesh! I knew Emerald Kaizo was difficult, but I didn’t know that it was “regular Emerald with Gen 6 mechanics patched in” difficult! What a Pokémon Challenge!
I didn't even realize he wasn't playing Emerald Kaizo but normal ass Emerald until halfway through the video im dead 😭
Yooo i realized at Watson and i nearly died of laughter (no joke i chocked hard)
....ohh I see it now
I didnt realize until Flannery lmao
I don't think I would've noticed if I didn't read this lol
I just realized now 😭
I completely forgot about the date, I'd completely just accepted this as "Oh he's doing a silly again" and was completely here for it.
My thoughts exactly

We need the Jan reaction video. His insight on your amazing plays should be interesting given such a difficult challenge
10:43 Good thing that swablu didn't mega evolve! Then they would have been able to use an ice type move!
Thank you for naming your rayquaza after the number of attempts! I got confused multiple times as to which attempt you were on but the name helped me out!
Ok I think the funniest part is he streamed this. Meaning the lad had to plan this out and make the content live and even tho everyone knew it was for April 1st he still had to do it and act normal the whole time
wdym this challenge was actually insane to do i cant believe he actually clutched up
I love that the chat was also playing along.
True omg I was thinking the same thing 😭
yeah he had the live stream like months ago, stating everyone to just play along for april fools video and over react.
It was one of the funniest streams ever: we were acting super anxious before every fight and then popping off like madmen at anything. Truly an experience
3:15 Never heard anyone describe Steven as a "lost twink" before 😭😭
Frr!
Like, he's a twunk, thank you very much!! 😤😤😤😤
I love how Alpharad manages to make even the most challenging battles seem entertaining and enjoyable to watch. His charisma really shines through in this playthrough.
"Navigating through this electric gym is difficult, given how hard the gym is to navigate." somehow has to be my favourite quote from you ever, now.

Great throwback to his "Look, ramps. We can use these as ramps!" Sonic Boom clip xD
"Look, ramps! We can use these as ramps!" has such a similar connotation to that lol
"Navigating through this electric gym is difficult given how hard it is to navigate"
Alpharad-2024
Look, ramps! We can use these as ramps!
Circular logic at its finest eh xD
7:45 Alpha assuming Camerupt could mega evolve is likely what got him through this fight. Planning for worst case scenarios is exactly how you win this kind of challenge.
"Jacob's approach to using Mega Rayquaza was both strategic and entertaining. His decision-making process and commentary really made the playthrough engaging to watch."

5:03 "Navigating through this electric gym is difficult given how hard the gym is to navigate" TRUE!!!!!! Alpharad never misses!!!! 👊👊👊
Fun fact: Alongside the toxic hit during fly, the same logic applies to the no guard ability. Spheal is capable of sending bubbles into the shadow realm to hit a Golurk using phantom force.

Inspiring challenges like this really keep me going when it gets hard. Thank you for attempting these almost impossible odds for all of us
17:13 How dare you call this video a joke? You're underselling the genuinely impressive feat that is defeating Pokemon Emerald with just a Mega Rayquaza.
"I've been going at this for like 18 hours straight now."
Lol, that's a good joke.
"It took a lot of time, but getting a level 100 Mega Rayquaza-"
Oh God, he wasn't joking...

@@OracleOfAegisOf course! As you know, grinding is based and cheating is cringe
Alpharad wouldn't stoop to the levels of using rare candies, he only wastes his time fighting wild Pokémon @OracleOfAegis
Taking the Base Stat Total Total is a next level move, excited to see this in the competitive scene.
True experts call it the Base Stat Total²
4 Sunkerns are obviously as strong as god
Genuinely insane, crazy how you always manage to set the roof of craziness higher and higher with every challenge. GG‘S!!!!
Love all the Mii music you used for this one. Hit that sweet spot between dramatic and goofy.
7:54 thank goodness none of the fire gym’s pokemon have Golduck’s ability cloud nine. Jacob would be finished if they also had an ice type move! Truly the most high stakes Pokemon gameplay we’ve seen thus far.
Honestly, golduck is a pretty good revenge killer against primal groudon. Just think about it, his cloud nine allows him to outspeed and ko with his trusty surf
exactly what i was thinking! it’s insane how despite all odds being stacked against jacob in that battle, he still made it out with a victory royale!
@@vector6006 I believe choice scarf golduck can legit oneshot primal groudon with hydro pump, it's a very funny niche ubers pick.
I find it incredible that someone managed to beat emerald with the Pokemon that was so bad that smogon had to make a brand new tier called “nothing goes” where you can only use terrible Pokemon like zacian just to make a tier that it could fit in. Truly amazing.
Bro transcended the tiers
@@victoire4881more like descended
I believe it actually is called "anything goes" as in "do anything you want, it won’t matter you wouldn’t stand a chance in little cup. Goes."
We love a good script, it's impressive that you managed to keep finding new ways to say you mashed A until the game was over (the toxic during fly was WILD)
I love how serious and methodical you are about this very difficult challenge. You even implement unused, genius strats like Extreme Speed with Quick Claw. Hopefully this will inspire other people to attempt it.
The fact that he almost lost after getting really cocky and using fly. Truly an icarus moment
I lost it cause only Alpharad could make me wonder if he was truly about to lose his run with a level 100 mega raquaza.
He literally flew too close to the sun.
Ngl it would be pretty funny if he faked a loss and made it even more poetic. He's done it before.
"Grinding is based and cheating is cringe" - Evil Alpharad, 2024
That Bravely Default soundtrack in there, just beautiful. My favorite soundtrack from the game.
Damn, that mega rayquaza really clutched out there. I have to say beating kaizo ironmon, emerald kaizo, and all the other shit out there is nothing compared to this, I tried it and couldn't even make it to roxanne, before my game crashed, Alpharad is too OP.
4:18 he’s activated the classic child effect, “if it doesn’t deal damage it sucks”
Bulk Up Flashbacks
to be fair the game kinda teaches/conditions you to think like that with pokemon like kakuna and metapod so early in the game that suck and spam status moves that are annoying
The title alone has me dead LMAO this is so creative, 10/10 April fools vid

"Navigating through this electric gym is difficult due to how difficult it is to navigate" ~ Sun Tzu, probably
The fact that by the end he almost actually lost is the most Alpharad thing I've ever seen
He also nearly lost to archie
I honestly thought he would lose on purpose on the final turn just for content. Which would be frustratingly funny. But the fact that he WON against that massive gamble made it even funnier! XD
I like that he plays into the bit the entire time, but the dragon dance bit at 7:12 is when he has to remind people what day it is
He was willing to get roasted for everything else, but not for that lmao
I love how you lead talking about emerald kaizo, but the *clearly* say that you're going to be playing regular emerald and we all just missed that for the first part of the video.
