Thanks so much for sharing Casey ❤️
Thank you for this video, I took some eucalyptus seedpods out of the forest from my holiday in Spain. I just planted them with your help :) Fingers crossed
Thank you so much for sharing this video. It’s so amazing how one tiny seed can turn into so much beauty.
That’s the best part about gardening for us, watching these seeds turn into the beauty and food we enjoy for months!
I am so happy you are posting videos, it gets me inspired! Eucalyptus just loves you, I have the hardest time getting the seedlings to get going.
You would make a great Elementary school teacher...Thanks be bless
I got the exact same seed this year!
I have to go buy eucalyptus seeds now…..🥰
Thanks for your sharing.
I'm come from Vietnam, nice to meet you.
Can you share with me about solid?
💚💙💚💙
Excellent video! I am going to try growing them in zone 11. Once I see the seeds sprout when should I transplant them ?
wait until they sprout sets of leaves. And wait for them to grow a solid root structure. I usually just check by sliding a tag in along the side of the plug and slowly slide it out, but not all the way. That way if it’s not rooted, you can just easily place it back in it’s plug to continue to grow. But if they are rooted then you can bump them up
Do you cold stratification the seeds before you plant them?
I’m going to grow lemon scented eucalyptus. Saw a lot of eucalyptus in Australia just love those blue leaves and white bark, also I love that they are evergreen . I’m in Dublin Ireland zone 9 should I start mine now
Me too! I planted nearly 100 on my property 2 years ago as 1 gallons, some are 25' tall and starting to give that lemon aroma. Good luck!
Just curious about why you don't moisten the soil before planting.
I was hoping you’d do a eucalyptus tour at the end 😢 you really teased us with all the cameos of different varieties throughout the video 😂
Do you have video when you transfer the eucalyptus seedling into a pot? I always fail in the stage. Thank you
i’m sure there are some from the last three seasons. We just go up to the next size from here which is a 2x3 cell with well draining potting soil. we will be doing it soon since all of our eucalyptus are close to that stage now
How long does it take eucalyptus to get to the point yours are at in your greenhouse, been growing mine for a 1 year and few months. It's about 5ft tall?
hi, how long will the Eucalyptus seeds germinate? any update on this video? thanks so much for sharing your expertise. 🙂
yep we added an update in the most recent video! Thank you for watching!
Do the seeds need cold or hot stratification
Do you have tips on caring for it indoors during the winter? I seeded some last spring and it did well all summer, but this winter I brought it indoors and it died within 3 months. =(
Keep it in the sunniest location of your home, spritzing the leaves helps and don’t over water. Sometimes just cut off the dead growth, and you’ll find new growth will start.
I'm trying to start Baby Blue Eucalyptus indoors. It all germinated but then just stalled... It's been weeks and it's just not growing. Some of the teeny-tiny leaves are even shriveling up, though I've kept the cells watered and the seedlings seem to still be alive. I've put the tray back on heat at the suggestion of a nursery employee but am open to other suggestions.
only water when dry. you could be over watering. If you are growing in the house, spritz their leaves daily. They don’t grow fast when they are little like that. There is more action taking place on the growth of the root structure at that point than there is on the plant. have you taken a look at the root system? when they have a small root system, and they aren’t rooted into the soil yet, they can easily get overwatered. Because the soil becomes too wet for them to sit in. Think about their natural habitat. what size cell did you start them in? When I grow eucalyptus, I start them in a very tiny cell tray, around 1/2” cells, so that way they can easily create a root structure, then I bump them up and do something larger once the root fills out that small cell
Also, keep a fan on in the area you are growing seedlings, helps dry out if they get watered too heavily. With eucalyptus, just don’t have the fan directly blowing on the foliage.
@@TheLawrenceGardenFarm Thank you! They were in a larger tray with other seedlings so I moved them to their own tray with smaller cells so they could be treated individually. I'll let up on the water and cross my fingers.
My baby eucalyptus started off great, but the leaves are starting to turn yellow. Has anyone had this happen before? I’m not sure if I’m over watering or under watering.
If they're crispy, too dry. If they're floopy, too wet. Could be dampening off too.
How do I buy some of your Ecalyptus plants?
We will have a website up soon, but for now you can email caseylynnlawrence@yahoo.com once they have germinated I can let you know the different varieties and prices do you can order
Where can I get the seeds
I get eucalyptus seeds from johnnys and i also source from etsy shops. I know many gardeners don’t advise to do that, but i love going on there for certain varieties. I also just check for reviews to make sure they are good seeds. I’ve only ever had one problem and that’s a variety of eucalyptus being a completely different variety.
Sorry Your Too Good looking to watch can't concentrate on what your saying yeah i haven't seen my wife or family 6 years.. anyway enjoy your outdoor fun.. 😮
Great tips, I want to grow the camaldulensis. I grew the deglupta and had good results.
