I love how everything in Japan is made for enjoyment/aesthetic as well as for function. You're on this big industrial ice-breaker ship for a tour, it could be very sterile, but they're playing music from Howl's Moving Castle and there's always things to see and hear to keep you entertained. Great video!
It makes it feel really magical imo, the voice over the loud speaker and the music make it seem like it’s some kind of gentle theme park ride into another world :DD
Two years ago, I was going to go to Abashiri too. However, JR train was canceled due to heavy snowfall. Now the video is comforting to me.
You know it's serious when a JAPANESE train is cancelled.
@@Thomas-lk5cu the one time I had a train canceled was when it was literally on fire.
I actually appreciate that you keep the camera low and don't get other people's faces in the shots. I find it relaxing and very respectful. Thank you!
Kind of annoying to me, it's ok to film in front of you without filming directly in a person's face.
@@millvee1005 would u like to be filmed in the face by a stranger
@@YoCatsGoMeow Not at all as long as they are respectful.
@@millvee1005 Hmm true but some people might object
@@YoCatsGoMeow you* Use actual words.
Ever since I started to connect with your work, it has made my life so much more awesome because I get to travel everywhere!
I am an Indian, watching this. I have heard of many places thanks to anime and Murakami, I absolutely like this video. Hope someday I will visit japan in person.
I love how so many things have english translation to it, sadly so many non english speaking countrys dont have this extra feature, so it makes me very happy to see the extra thought behind this, both the written and the audioble on the speakers
Right? I thought so too! I wish all countries open for tourism would do this
@@sugoiiininjadesuu7262 It actually saddens me. Why does the world need to adapt for arrogant I can't be assed to adapt to the country I visit British, Australians, New Zealanders, Canadians and Americans. Its just allowing laziness and our imperialist high and mighty superiority complex. Just make us learn your damn words at least for the basics.
@@BrumBrum2222 I heard also Chinese on the loudspeaker on this ship, so there must be a lot of Chinese tourists, too. Though I would agree with you that tourists should be able of some basic communication, like ordering a meal or something, it's impossible to follow an one hour tour with explanations unless you've an average command the language.
When it comes to reading Japanese, there are up to 50.000 Kanji, a very educated person can read about 4000, for reading a newspaper you need to know about 2000, also depends if the Kanji are sinojapanese or purely japanese symbols and there are various ways to read them. You can read the Latin alphabet in every country that uses it even though you wouldn't know the language... English is a language that many people outside GB, Canada and the US can speak somehow. Of course the attitudes of especially Americans are quite spoilt, ignorant and impolite yet I (being from Europe) wouldn' t want to spend the next years learning Japanese for a three week holiday, so I could read the signs and understand what they are telling people about the sights. If I planned to stay there for a longer period it would be self evident for me to get a better knowledge of the native language.
@@BrumBrum2222 idk if you know this but having english translation is very helpful even for people that don't come from a country with English as their primary language. It shouldn't sadden you that it helps people understand what's going on...
@@velvetkay i agree, though generalizing people isn't correct.
Out of hundreds of travel vids on CZcams, yours are a class of it's own.. And most enjoyable.. Cheers..
😬 You are brave! I would have visions of the Titanic running through my head!
Nicely done. Your videos are so beautiful. Thank you!!!
I am looking forward to visiting Japan again soon. I will add this to a growing list of things to do!
Excited for this! Thanks for your videos very calming in an overstimulated world
This is so cool!! Hokkaido was one of the places I wish I’d had a chance to travel to when I lived in Japan! Thank you again for another relaxing, entertaining and informative video 😄
Yay for premiers! I can't wait to see a new relaxing and interesting content!
Very beautiful experience! Thanks for sharing, Kuga-san.
I think this is the most people I've ever seen (biggest group) on a ferry or ship in any of your videos. I'm glad to see them.
This is so relaxing....
Couldn't agree more. Loved all his videos 📹
Really enjoyed this thank you for posting
Excellent and most enjoyable video, Kuga. Such a perfect day for such a trip in the ice drift. Thank you very much for sharing.

What an amazing landscape! I have worked on ships for more than 10 years but I have never seen something like this! Added to my bucket list! Thanks for the videos Kuga Senpai! love your chanel! 🙌🏼
While you;re in Abashiri, I hear they've got a prison museum. I also saw the glass museum in the video
Might be interesting.
Amazing! 💝

Your travel video is the best!
Wonderful! A big thank you from Oliver, aged 5. and Tptp. aged 3
Always Watching From Canada 😊 Stay Safe
also from Canada, BC - so interesting to see this scenery, but also interesting to see how different cultures are doing... well... so much better with the virus. :( Japanese can do tourism! Numbers are OK! Whereas North America #'s, well... but, I will do my part and be careful, and watch these amazing world-expanding videos. I never saw ice like that, but now, I have! While eating noodles on my couch! Thank you, Kuga.
Viendo tus viajes desde Chile, en cuarentena, stay safe! 🥰🥰🥰
And me from Saguenay, Quebec:)
What a cool tour (pun not intended) - I gotta add this to my bucket list 😍
Thank you. I've added that to the list.
I love your videos, they're so soothing to watch. Keep then coming please! :)
Thank you Kuga excellent video and breathtaking sceneries
Thanks for these wonderful videos. You gave me a chance to see something that I will not be able to see personally in my life time.
It’s absolutely breathtaking!
I really love this channel!
Thank you so much!
Best wishes!
Muy buenos tus videos, trasmiten calma, lo haces muy bien 👍
Good job 👏🧊🧊
That was a very interesting tour. The line of blue with the mountains behind at 9:37 were so beautiful.
So excited!
This looks calming
Amazing! Thanks 🙏
Amazing...thanks for the share.
Thank you for making these wonderfully relaxing videos. I have been unable to travel this year due to coronavirus, and these videos have made me feel like I am able to see new places anyway! Thank you from Ireland!
Thank you for another lovely video. It gives great pleasure to be able to see here what I am not able to see in person.
This view is magnificent and actually helped to cool down our thoughts thus gave us peace of mind for a moment! 💙👍
However, these pieces of ice also reminds me the tofu dessert! They looked soft on the surface though...😍
Serene and peaceful.
Absolutely love Hokkaido 👍
this looks like an amazing trip - i would love to go on a trip like this
So beautiful! Last February, I was able to experience this breathtaking drift ice cruise in Monbetsu, Hokkaido. The icebreaker ship was so amazing! :)
this is so cool !!!
They are amazing-beautiful, mysterious!!!! Î
Thanks for showing 👍👍
thankyou for showing us beautiful videos.. not only this... but the other was beautiful too.. hope u always happy and healthy..
Love that video! Sorry it was too short.
Is the ship playing the theme from Howl’s Moving Castle?
Yeah, it’s the Merry-Go-Round from Howl's Moving Castle! 😌
I was about to type this.
Same. I really liked how the atmosphere is changed with the piece playing in the background. Almost as if, spring has come. Joe Hisashi is an incredible composer!
Nice video! We are missing Japan from Hong Kong.
Beautiful video 😊💕💕
Very impressive !
Another journey - thanks Kuga-san - I appreciate your comments, concise but informative!
Superb. I hope to be seeing that and more when I visit the arctic this coming February
Thanks for sharing this video! It is so great to see the snow and ice. I actually got to see and touch snow for the first time when I traveled to Japan. I chose to visit during December because I had never experienced true winter (I live on a Caribbean island so it’s pretty much summer all year long). I actually prefer colder temperatures to the summer heat. 😅
Some day, I would like to visit Caribbea islands.
please let us switch... theres only been snow for 2 weeks now here in Germany... but i miss warmer weather so much already
Me gusto mucho. Gracias
I really had to turn on the heater when I watched this video although it's pretty warm here :D Greetings from Australia. I like your videos. Very relaxing. Arigato
ビデオを撮影したありがとうございました!いつか北海道に行きたい!日本に行きたい!
I like the sound of that ship.
Great video! I really enjoyed watching it :) It looks like a breathtaking trip with all that ice! Wishing you all the best from The Netherlands
Great video. It's like being there. 👌🤗☺️
the jewellery box music playing all day on that ship would really start to grind my gears after a while.
It's a theme from "Howl's moving castle" composed by Joe Hisaishi, great movie, great soundtrack
Merci kuga's pour les plus beaux paysages du Japon juste wow....❤❤
hokkaido! beautiful island :)
Thank you Kuga
It is an amazing video, we r from india and very very crazy about Japan and their culture, rules, things, nature beaty... everything.
I wish we would have similar tours on the Great Lakes. We get lots of ice like that during the winter.
Loved the vid ❄️
I appreciate the fact that you used Joe Hisaishi's Merry go round of life !! It makes the video even more magical 🥰
He didn't use it, it was played literally on the boat! :D
Nice and beautiful thank You
two vocaloid characters in a row 😂❤️
So much Snow in Hokkaido 💜🙏👌🏽
I missed going for the drift ice the last time i went hokkaido.. the view is fantastic, giving a sense of tranquility in the sea of white.. thks 🙇♀️🙇♀️
It'beatiful, I'd love to see more, as a lot of us I think. Such a pitty it was too short vid. 👍🤗
Kuga-San....pour it on. I'm a hometown boy (Fukuoka) circa a LONG TIME AGO but I love seeing vids about the old country. You're a lucky young man and you represent Japan as it should be....through the eyes of a traveler
👍💐 Thank you
It’s beautiful. It reminds me of the titanic but obviously you made it back safely 🚢😀
reminder already set
4:56 That bird wants the attention. And bread crumbs.
Thanks for sharing ^^
Very nice video
great
すごい!
Lucky you, I went there in Jan 2019, there wasn't enough ice on ocean, so we didn't get to see such majestic view. We did enjoy the town though.
Sweet! :)
Very pretty place to live.
Hope one day I can do this trip!
It's my dream to go there someday 😍
I heard vangelis music ! i love that 👏
@7:50 Steller's Sea Eagle. I'd love to see them in the wild.
