When i lived in ewa beach, I really liked it. Ewa beach elementary is a good school. My only real complaint was traffic to get out in the morning.

We live across from Ewa Beach elementary, and there was just cane fields surrounding the school. And it was all the way up Papipi Road. I remember walking bare foot to Ilima and Campbell.

Ft Weaver road. When I first drove it, it was a two-lane road. One lane in one lane out. After the cane was harvested, you could see Diamond Head from where Family Services is now (the old St Barnabas Church) to Ewa Beach. Wow, am I that old?!!

I remember not seeing any traffic on that two-lane road. I remember only one traffic light located at Ft Weaver and Papipi.

hello Derek and Mahe. We were just visiting Koolina and spent an afternoon driving around Ewa. We checked out the Lookout and the line up (kitchen door was closed), but we also found our way to Iroquois Point looking for a lunch spot called d'lish on the beach. We really found that area nice and wondered if you had any info on it or had done video about it. Thanks

Can you comment on how bad the airplane noise is…?

    • @movingtohawaii

Depends what you’re used to it what you can tolerate. It also depends on where in the ZIP Code you are but in this specific community it’s not too bad.

The air traffic is into runway 8 Left. Some years ago when the Air Force was flying their older screaming engined C-5 and KC-135 the noise was LOUD . Those aircraft have been retrofitted with newer engines and the sound output has been drastically reduced. I really don't think it an issue though I might be immunized to the sound. Flights into 8L are pretty much over with by the early evening hours and don't resume until the next morning.
As an aside. Several decades ago I heard an especially load aircraft flying over and looking up saw the Concorde. I learned later that it was flying a round-the-world charter flight. First and only time I'll ever see that aircraft in flight.

I live in Mamaka and never noticed an airplane. Watching this video is the first time I've even heard it brought up as a (potential) issue.

A chair is an inanimate object, not a real person. Leaving a chair on a sidewalk is like leaving a empty bottle or a sandwich wrapper on the ground.

Who is in the right? The chair or the human? Well I gotta say the human. But you know almost everytime chair comes first like chairman and chairperson etc... so maybe chair?

Yes we can help you if you’re moving back home or simply moving to HAWAII. In some developments you need to be established here. On this one you don’t have to. You may need to be otw and that changes over time and per community/sales release.

"Nanaina" is a strange word that does not seem Hawaiian. I see "aina" in it but that would mean the "nan" would have to be a word, which it is not.

I don’t like this style of home. It seems to be cookie cutter consistency. Love individual style that embraces the Hawaiian lifestyle and tropical feel. These remind me of Illinois suburban homes.

It’s just insane that they made people sleep on the sidewalk just to get a home 🤯 I mean who do they think they are 🤦🏽‍♀️ to make elders sleep outside for a house. They should have just been 💯 fair to everyone and stuck with lottery instead of hyping themselves up like that.

Move to California where you just walk into the Model Home showroom, pick a model and lot, and sign the contract. Why buy an old home when you can just build a new one.
