ABC Afterschool Special from October 1990
Stars: Christopher Daniel Barnes, Lisa Dean Ryan, Matt Adler, Alley Mills, Christopher Rich
2:02 A really young Adam Sandler. I loved after school specials! This was one of my favorites!
i was about the say the same thing!
Yes!!! So young!!!
How many of you use to rush home to watch the ABC after school specials? I know me and my sibling did; this was something your parents had know problem with u watching. They were very educational and even some of the teachers use to show them in their class room.
I did too.
Me
Me Desiree I used to kids don't know what they are missing I just subbed to your channel
I was too busy smoking grass like Scott Baio
me i loved them and Mr. Cartoon
Man, I miss everything from the 80s the music, the parties, the clothes shoes and a big hair best part of life was the 80s
8-11-2020 THIS IS MY FAVORITE ADAM SANDLER MOVIE!!
Its all coming back to me i remember watching this when it came out. Awesome times kids these days dont know how awesome times were but im happy I got to live it.
Christopher Daniel Barnes who played Greg Brady in the Brady Bunch movies-1995,1996.
He was previously the voice of Eric in The Little Mermaid.
I like watching these older after school specials. Wow I can't believe I found these on here .💯❤️
Oh shit it's Mac's mom from Always Sunny! Outstanding.
I didn’t appreciate these then but now I see the brilliant acting and story line.
Seeing this resonates with me. Growing up in the '70s and '80s, I experienced bullying because I wasn't "masculine" and I just wasn't into what the other boys were into such as roughhousing and sports. There was a time I tried to be like my older brother who was seen as masculine and I just couldn't be. Thank goodness, times have changed and there's much more acceptance....The ending of this made me so happy. When the dad came to watch his son and daughter dance, he said, "That's my son and he smiled as a proud dad. What a great episode!
Christopher Daniel Barnes- later to become the iconic voice actor of Spider-Man! 1994
He was the voice of Eric in the little mermaid
Played Greg Brady in the Brady Bunch movie,, I kept waiting for him to say “hey there groovy chick your happening in a far out way”
Great video. I loved the ABC After School Specials. We used to rush home to watch these after school. Thanks for posting. I love the 80s and early 90s. I do a podcast and I have interviewed some people from that era. Last week we interviewed Taco who sang Puttin' On The Ritz. It was a ton of fun. The podcast is on our CZcams page. Thanks again for posting I just subscribed to your channel.
I thought he'd died. who am I thinking of??
nice try...not gonna listen
Great movie. TY for sharing this. This really brought the reality of drugs home. The problem has only grown worse. God Bless You & stay safe.
@tj921abl
Yeah, pot is legal and mass produced and they literally give heroin and needles to those addicts!! So called war on drugs all those years was nothing and I mean nothing but a huge, pointless joke.
@@laurakibben4147 I didn't hear anything about heroin being given, but they gave them needles, just so they wouldn't get AIDS using dirty/possibly contaminated needles. The government isn't responsible for getting people off of drugs. The addict has to want to quit, otherwise, they will keep on using, no matter what anyone says. Joke you say? Funny, I never did drugs! My parents did. Maybe seeing their behavior is what kept me off of them. I don't know.
I took drug tests since I was 18 for a construction job . At 47 years old I started smoking weed . A lot of weed .
so many stars! and one of my favorite Spider-Man!! 🥰
Before I saw this video, I only knew Christopher Daniel Barnes as Greg Brady in the two Brady Bunch films and the voice of Prince Eric in The Little Mermaid.
Goes to show that sometimes adults don't know how to handle drug addicts.
Been looking for years for someone to post an after school special called the perfect date. It was 1990. Will Smith made a brief appearance in it. Can never find it. Saw it once when it aired when I was a kid but have looked everywhere for it.
I'm not sure what surprised me more...Macs mom as the principle or Adam Sandler as the drug dealer!
Always loved A Martinez! ❤️
Oh my gosh, that year is 1990, this is when Crash and Burn came out.
First test the parents, teachers and administrators.
1:31 Little did she know that years later, Adam Sandler would be huge and put her in his Chuck and Larry movie.
To bad that movie sucked
I remember this one time I wasn't high at school. The teachers were asking if I was okay or sick. I didn't make that mistake again.
I guess that the high school feels really embarrassed and guilty for the mistake they made without double checking to make sure if it's false or not.
I just noticed this was recorded from kait 8 from Jonesboro Arkansas. That's the abc channel I watched these on as a kid
You know, it's funny before I entered high school I saw this kind of stuff in movies and on TV shows. I believed that when I got go like Jr High or High School, people were going to randomly come over to me and try to peer pressure me to drink or do drugs. I just thought that was like a daily or weekly thing for teens! But, I think the truth now is the same as when this 40 year old was in school. If you are friends with good people, kind of a nerd but close to the good buddies you do have - and they are "good kids" they most likely will not have a dramatic scene in witch they pressure you into getting high. Random people don't really care what you do or don't do. They certainly are not going to spend their time trying to push drugs and drinks on to some kid they don't know! Honestly, I knew where I could go if I wanted to get drugs. I knew where the stoners and the cool kids hung out and kids today probably know as well. It was my choice not to go over there and ask for drugs! I am 40 years old and no one has ever peer preasured me into doing drugs or even having a drink. The 80s and 90s had this big scare vibe that people were going to constantly offer you drugs. The more likely scenario is that "you" go over to the stoners and "you" go ask to buy drugs.
Agree, I'm 43 and I was never approached by any drug dealers in school. Even if I had wanted to try them, I wouldn't have known where to go! I was a choir kid and studied or went to the movies or mall.
What gets me is that a parent can raise a kid to truly and honestly be a good person and everyone that knows the kid should be able to give that kid a "second chance" If you want to raise an honest child than when the kid says he didn't do something you've got to trust that you raised them to be honest! If kids don't think adults are going to trust them, then why should they rise above what people expect from them?
adam Sandler the drug dealer?lol
Lmao right hahaha i cant deal
Adam Sandler from Saturday Night Live the new guy.
Also, I was 12 watching this movie on tv. All the 90s greats that we don't see and haven't seen for eons: CD Barnes, Lisa Dean Ryan, Michael Manassri, Christopher Rich, and the mom from The Wonder Years.
Did you know that Christopher Daniel Barnes provided the voice for Peter Parker in the 90's Spider-Man animated series?
@@jeanemlicar No idea. He was.in the Brady Bunch movies...I just now remembered.
Yeah but we do see Adam Sandler
"Your eyes can deceive you particularly when you're hearts involved" that's some rs
you mean BS?
Good episode!!!
Great program
And there's Lewis from Teen Wolf (Matt Adler) who gave Scottie Howard the stink-eye for doing a handstand on Miles' wolf mobile. Now he's doing drugs. LOL
What a jerk
Really good episode ❤
I took a Tylenol pm and the next day my drug test showed that I took some type of anti depression medication. I had to pay for a test that tested for everything to prove I wasn’t on drugs. 🤦🏽♀️
The main character is Greg Brady from the Brady bunch movies
Yep just punish the kids that are on drugs instead of helping them. That makes everyone's lives better. 🙄
@Shadow Play in the Woods unfortunately we live in the real world and have to deal with real situations, not "what ifs" and "should'ves".
@Shadow Play in the Woods Great concept Nancy.😉
@Shadow Play in the Woods GOT your BOOSTER Yet????
@Shadow Play in the Woods yea, let’s be upset & judge instead of understanding & helping people get off of drugs 🤔🙄
I have to honestly say nobody pushed me or even offered drugs in school. There were plenty around. If I’d wanted them, I certainly knew where to find them. But then again, I wasn’t into the whole high school social thing. I went to class, did my work, got good grades, left, went to work, then home, etc. I enjoyed camping on the weekends if not not working. Sundays were about church, family, and guest recruits from the Navy base.
I know we don't know each other, but I just wanted to say, good for you, you will never regret having lived that way during your school years. God Bless you & all the best.
the way i was handled in jr high & high school (not the jr high & high school where my future was at, instead the jr high & high school where i never belonged in the first place) by all those who at the time i thought had power; never believe any school test, maybe fight back, maybe find the way to the next phase of your life sooner than you first planned and move on immediately (wish i let my destroyed life go and moved on immediately; too broken down at the time to do so)
Jane looks like the grandma in Napoleon Dynamite
Make yourself a casa della
Make yourself a dang casa dilla 😂
“Leaks happen.” !!!😅!!!
That's why Billy Madison acted the way he did.
Billy Madison, who's that?
An Adam Sandler character
Present day A symptomatic work place testing....
The one dad is Brock from Reba
Chris Rich...He also did another TV series..."The Charmings."
Young ❤❤❤❤❤
Are they random testing the teachers and staff?
feels like i teleported back in time...then that ending 42:59
I wish someone would upload the cocaine one from 1988!
5:51 Jessica!!!
Do you have the Afterschool special called “Magical Make-Over” ?
Thanks for the upload. Would’ve loved info in the description about cast. I’ll IMDb it, or google, but don’t want to leave the show to do it. Just saying... 👍🤷♀️✌️. Ha, Adam Sandler before SNL? 😂
Cruz from Santa Barbara 🤩
This theme is very prophetic to present times. Disturbing
Lol, the Kidz aren't on drugs, it's these dang twenty five year old teenagers!
this movie does a good job of showing the false hysteria back in the late 80's/early 90's over drugs
girlonlaptop False hysterics? What a laugh! True education and awareness came out of those times! Remember. “Just Say No?”
Just Say No is part of the failed "war on drugs" which has half of society addicted to something in our day.
@@KDL861 The "just say no" campaign failed. and it failed because it was based on false information and hysteria.
Why not show to kids today?
Amphetamines are in all your junk food and sodas...Amphetamines are also stored at your neighborhood pharmacy
30:13 At this point brody’s lawyer knows he’s about the get a massive lawsuit payout 💰 🏆
If there were more investment in caring for the mental health and social welfare of school children, there'd be far less of a need for random drug testing.
For some reason, I doubt that. Kids are pretty invincible, at least they think they are. Plus most people who do drugs don't do it because they have an "issue," they do it cause they like it.
@@taffykins2745 blatantly untrue, nobody takes heroin because they like it, complete ignorance.
@@robokill387 STUPIDIST THING EVER
@@willdpe1256 it's true though, heroin is used because it feels comforting and numbs bad emotions, it's used as an escape from problems, it's not really a drug that makes you high as such. and it's extremely chemically addictive.
these kids would have been jocks in my school
Adam Sandler as a Jock?
Like episode
I am on anti seizure meds. I took a drug test to work with this bank in my state, and I tested positive for phenobarbital. I only wish that god damn place that had me take the drug test would go out of business. Thanks to them, I can't get work in my state, and I refuse to leave it. Second of all, I'm a person of disability due to a debilitating injury I had from a fall in 2011 and 2014. This whole system stinks !!!!!!!!!
Couldn't you have explained the positive test with a doctor's note or something? Seems kinda extreme to be blacklisted in the whole state because of 1 test.
Get a lawyer
This is a clear violation of the ADA a federal law. Get a lawyer and sue the little shits into oblivion.
States are to send all drug tests to the medical review officer, who then tests for all substances, they then call the applicants, and request a valid script. With that being said, I've known people who have tests positive for substances they weren't prescribed, and later are hired for other jobs after testing clean. They don't share any of that info to a state wide data base to prevent someone from ever getting hired again. It just doesn't work that way.
@@Prawnstar. It shouldn't work that way but sometimes it can. Like I said before get a lawyer and sue the little shits for violation of the Federal ADA law. See www.nytimes.com/2016/07/10/magazine/how-a-2-roadside-drug-test-sends-innocent-people-to-jail.html for how this "protection" doesn't mean jack. "More than 250 over the counter or prescription drugs can cause you to test positive on a drug test" ( www.bigclassaction.com/lawsuit/false_positive.php )
Hold up was that dealer at the party Adam Sandler!?? Lol Pusher Man
Wow, Adam Sandler acting a small part when he was unknown! Didn't even see his name in the Credits on this show???
Not all drug tests are accurate sometimes they can be wrong because we can't always tell if someone is really abusing drugs or not based on the test. Similar to at home pregnancy tests because not all pregnancy tests can be accurate because they can't tell if a woman is really pregnant or not.
Is Jane Horowitz the grandmother from Napoleon Dynamite?
Yep. Sandy Martin.
Napoleon Dynamite, is that the 1993 movie is coming up this year or it something?
Where's the sound
love the young adam sandler

All of a sudden everyone's a cop

And after he was on The Cosby Show.
What kind of drugs were that?
Mac's Mom from It's Always Sunny
Dang first you claim the cigarettes in your coat pocket aren’t yours now a positive drug test. Greg do BETTER!😃
Ha😂😂
The kid that bought drugs off Adam Sandler is the kid that bought the Titian Condoms on Amazon Women On The Moon.
Crack iz Wack
Adam Sandler 😂
Just drugs say kids to no.
Some of them are very good, and some are not.
I remember watching this back in the day and wondering why the kid with the false possible's family was so forgiving as mine would have sued the school district into oblivion. Oh wait a minute that is *exactly* what is implied at 35:30.
People weren’t as sue happy as they are now.
@@debbiepotter6413 Actually they were they just tended to be more nuisance level then things that hit the papers. Around this time 60 minutes had a segment on a guy who, I kid you not, lived off making nuisance lawsuits - high enough that it was worth his time but low enough that it cost more to fight him..
@@Maximara ? I was 12 at this time and I don't remember people being sue happy then. Maybe I missed something?
@@rocknroller77 There were common enough that my school system in Columbus, OH was under "orders" not to get sued with regards to the Public Law 94-142 (1972) and given that some medications and over the counter items simulate illegal drugs and even by the standards of the 1980s the school district in the drama did several things that could result in them being sued into oblivion.
b/c its a tv show with a script
Adam Sandler? Nice
Dont you love how people are stereo typed who is and isnt a drug users.
How so? If you mean by their actions, then yes, normally drug use causes them to act strange or out of the ordinary.
Adam sandler??!!! What the fuck!
the way they did the drug test is not how it is supposed to be done, just saying! I had to do drug tests for jobs and they are very strict with how it's done. very easy for then to mix up the samples for sure
4:00 those guys are in high school? Wow, they are buff. Must be roids.

The Supreme Court ruled that regulated drug testing is an exception to the 4th Amendment. Oh, BTW, I'm drinking vodka, just popped an Adderall and snorting Ambien as I watch this. True story.
Get out of town 👋🏻 😂 were you really lol lol
GOT your BOOSTER Yet????
Crack is whack
This movie was relevant at the time. But science has proven that these tests are sometimes needed even relied on. There have been a lot of improvements and reliability with these tests. It’s different and the world has evolved. I understand the moral of this story. But in today’s world it is standard!
in todays *America it is standard. fify.
GOT your BOOSTER Yet????
Say you’re hiring someone to take care of your children on a regular basis ... not only would you check references, you’d probably drug test them! I would. Any intelligent, concerned parent who is worth their salt WOULD !!!! Not only that, you may place cameras in different rooms all around the house. I WOULD!!!! And I’m not ashamed to admit it! And like that one woman said, “even if there were a perfect test, humans still run them”. But that goes both ways. People try to beat drug tests all the time.
