And for this, I look up to you with great reverence. It's elating to watch an Indo-European language speaker confabulate in a Dravidian language. My respect for you is eternal. Have a great day!

Icecreams and masala dosas have strong connections. Whenever i used to hog icecreams in the rainy seasons, sometimes i used to get bad cough and chest congestion. Then it used to be time for me to visit the doctor. The code word in South India for getting injections and beatings is called masala dosas. She would 100% gimme one or more painful injections on my bums. After getting i used to visit my aunt's place where she used to see me rubbing my bums and tease me that the doc gave me masala dosa on one bum and special rava masala dosa on the other bum. she used to ask me if i want to eat more icecreams in rains again.

The one sold on trains is Maddur Vade, the legend says the batter make rave vade(or rava vada as you say) was a little watery and the man running the vegetarian refreshment room in Maddur railway station fixed it using rice flour but could not make it roundish shape as it was falling apart. So he patted it to into a disc and it became a hit.
BTW, are you any way related to Herr. Otto Königsberger (or Sri Otto Koenigsberger as we celebrate him as one of our own), erstwhile Chief Architect of princely Mysore?
