Writing has been her passion and this passion resulted in effortless flow of beautiful writings from her pen, be it stories, poems or articles. For Dr Indira Hegde writing has been close to her heart since her younger days.
Also an acclaimed scholar and researcher Dr Indira Hegde hails from Kinnigoli. A post graduate degree holder, Indira also has done D Lit and is a post graduate diploma holder in social studies.
Her credentials have now earned her the coveted chairmanship of the Mangaluru Taluk Kannada Sahitya Sammelan scheduled to be held at St Agnes College on January 29.
Dr Indira Hegde who is also an entrepreneur has authored three collection of stories, four novels and an anthology of poems. Her research work "Buntaru ondu Samajo Samskrutiya Adhyayana,’ has also been translated into English.
She has been honoured with several prestigious awards including Karnataka Janapada Academy Award, Rani Abbakka Award, Kamana Ranga Swami Endowment Award and Sahitya Academy Award.
