    Louis and Lestat seemed to have been friends for months before Lestat offered him the dark gift, also I think Lestat might have felt some suicidal ideation from Louis after the death of Paul and rejection from his mother and that’s why Lestat rushed Louis to come to him so he could turn him because from Lestat’s perspective he could give Louis all the love and appreciation that his mother wasn’t giving him.

      He did! Literally in church saying he wants to die. He was going to die that night regardless of whether he came back as a vampire or not...

    • @dominiquedevereux7205
      @dominiquedevereux7205 Před měsícem +5

      @liliblue Lestat wouldn't have killed Louis; he was in love with him by then. Plus, I doubt he was worried bout anyone believing Louis. If anything (though I doubt he would even do this), Lestat would've just left Louis in the church with the priests' bodies, the authorities would have come, found a black man alive & 2 white men --- PARISHIONERS NO LESS --- & would've assumed Louis was guilty & had themselves a good ol' lynching. But, like I said, Lestat would've known this & would have taken Louis out of the church ⛪️ b4 any of that could happen. Plus he knew if Louis did start tellin anyone bout vampires, they would locked his a$$ up in that looney 🤪 bin in Gretna that his sister Grace suggested they send Paul to!
      And Lestat, being an immortal creature, having developed the gift of somewhat infinite patience knew that even if Louis denied him his "hand-in-marriage" 🤵🏽‍♂️💍🤵🏼 that night, after Louis had a chance to think it over & weigh his options, he probably still would've taken Lestat up on his offer a few days later.
      Also, Lestat, having never been given the choice to become a vampire & having it forced upon him, he certainly couod have easily done the same to Louis & wouldn't have bothered offering him a choice if it was gonna be "his way or the highway 🛣." Lestat wanted Louis to WANT HIM. Lestat wouldn't be satisfied knowing Louis was only with him cuz he forced him to be. It would've be genuine then.

    Louis needs to quit playing. He knows he wanted to fling some back shots on Lestat from the time they met again at the poker game. The way they were watching each other. And girl when they finally went to the jungle, I was like zam! When Lestat took off his shirt and came over, I wanted Lily to get the hell outta the way too. You know it's good when it makes you float.

Paul was so good as manic and a bit off...I still laugh when ever I think of him telling Levi that their mother will never be Levi's scientific mother. Grace is so believable as the last hold out for Louis' humanity.

    After having watched Season 2, I realize that they saw the altar as their marriage and also that it took place during a storm and their reunion takes place during a storm. The way Lestat recounts this during the trial you can tell he knew it was sacrilegious to kiss him on the altar and make him his but he did. He says it in a way of knowing naughtiness that he was pleased with. Also after watching 2-8, I realized Louis chose and though it may have seemed he had no other choice he did want Lestat and wouldn’t have chosen differently. As far as Paul, Lestat was wrong for the comment he made about Paul’s ending but I don’t believe Lestat had anything to do with it. He took out Lily because Lily was representative of Louis denying who he truly was, a gay man. So he drained her. Also, Lestat’s jealousy got the best of him and he didn’t want to share Louis. I can’t wait till next season because knowing how jealous Lestat was over Louis is hard to see he allowed Armand to have him all those years. I’m convinced Lestat said something telepathically to Armand in the Lair after Louis walked out. There was a pause where the two of them look at each other and Lestat has this look on his face like don’t forget I know.

    Wow, I watched season 1 over prior to the premier of season 2, thanks for the revisit review for me. Louis was playing for keeps during 1910. During his meetup with Ms. Lily, Lestat was very alluring. I love vampires and witches. Louis’s brother death was sad, and that mother was horrible to Louis. I believe he lost himself during season 1, but season 2 Louis was like, “I am used to running things, and I was very good at it.” And we get a glimpse of his glow up.

The power dynamics and underlying tones weirded me out, especially when Louis still tried to hold his own against Lestat and couldn't (in basically every way). Paul got on my nerves but i felt bad about his ending and the blame Louis got from their mother.

    • @glittermethis
      @glittermethis Před měsícem +3

      That’s simply not true. Lestat didn’t take anything away from Louis. Louis continued seeing his family until they became afraid of him. Louis continued running his businesses until he finally started to feel the squeeze of segregation ruining his businesses. He did all that against the advice of Lestat. He warned Louis that continued human entanglements end poorly.

      Rolin Jones, Sam Reid and Anne Rice have already said Lestat had nothing to do with Paul’s death. The only reason it feels like he had something to do with it was because Louis is the one narrating the story and he feels like Lestat had something to do with it. Paul already had mental health problems, like you could see him talking about some birds and shit to himself.

      @leslust Před měsícem +7

      @@twoskoops74 i understand but you also have to remember this is Louis’ distorted pov of everything, of course he feels like lestat did it because he recently found out lestat is a vampire and Paul doesn’t have a good impression of him. It is safe for Louis to assume he had something to do with it but Louis himself asked Lestat if he did it and Lestat swore he would never do something to his brother and I believe him because if he truly did do it I think he would have killed mama du lac as well because of the way she treated Louis even before lestat came into their lives. (Aside from the show runner confirmation that Lestat didn’t do it).

    • @dominiquedevereux7205
      @dominiquedevereux7205 Před měsícem +9

      I don't think so. Lestat could tell Paul wasn't all the way "there 🤪" upstairs so he wouldn't have taken it personally. He was ANNOYED, YES. But did he feel slighted? NO. Paul would have had to have been in his right mind & actually posed a threat in order for Lestat to put the time & effort into going after Paul. In fact, I think Lestat admires Paul cuz he even tells Louis while they're walking to Lestat's pad after the dinner where Paul "showed out" that Louis must somewhat admire Paul cuz even though Paul is "2 sheets to the wind," there's an enviable freedom Paul has in being able to say whatever he wants & not giving a damn what anybody thinks.
