I can't tell any of my friends how many times I've watched this movie. I can probably sit down and write out the script to this film from memory. Don't tell anybody I said that.
I'm not sure how many years it had been since I watched Bed of Roses. It still moved me to tears. The perfect blend of two vulnerable souls finding each other. Too perfect.
when i was little, i picked this movie to rent just because of this song and the beautiful imagery of the guy dipping the girl into the bed of roses. i remember not really liking the movie, but i definitely think its worth another try. watching the preview still makes me tear up to this day. and dear god, if nothing else, i can sure appreciate a young Christian Slater in a way that i couldn't at that age!
I mostly noticed the song and music too. I remember the Olympics weren't long after and I played that song over and over while trying to do gymnastics. I remember gymnastics/diving into the pool, roses, and Christian Slater :D ..I'd definitely like to see it now as an adult widowed person.

We exist, we're just usually passed over, or get horribly used, hurt and worst of all friendzoned, on a nearly constant basis. By the the time we do meet someone with a heart worthwhile, we can be all manners of reluctant.
I love this movie and I hate that it is underrated and sometimes unknown except to those like us who know it. I love the simple plot and script, this story had everything just right. I think Masterson and Slater had great chemistry, thank you for making this vid.

Yeah it's really bullshit because it's such a beautifully written story and the actors just nailed it. The subtlety is what gets me. Like a fellow soul she is so afraid of love because of the fear of being hurt.....
The song after the proposal/breakup was Insensitive by Jann Arden. You can also find the song in her album Living Under June (which I don't really recommend).

Watched yesterday for the first time and I liked it, it's really a nice movie. Although, if I may say, the end seems a bit rushed. But still a good movie. And Mary Stuart Masterson was really beautiful ^^.
can anyone tell me what it's like to be permitted to love someone without putting a target on my back from my older brothers who tell me that I need to support them and their families rather than be selfish and have one of my own?
I dig the song a lot. I love Mary Stewart Masterson, and was a big fan of Slater as well back in the day. The movie didn't leave much of an impression on me when I first saw it, but I've seen it a couple more times, and it's grown on me A bit heavy, it could have used a little more humor, which both leads can provide, when asked. Really good job of putting this together.

Actually, he is creepy as fuck. If you meet a guy like this, he likely wants you to think he is sweet, but in reality is a psychopath. Big red flags.
