I prefer the original, but it DOES give us a more realistic form of the characters so I can't complain.

I'm extremely glad they're taking their time on Freedom Planet 2! I know a lot of people are really itching for a release date, but I actually like how they're only putting out a date when they feel like the game is completely ready for launch, which means the game will be extremely polished and will have an incredible first impression on the world!

As much I as I hate to say, you're right. I'm impatient admittedly, but at the same time, I would rather have a good game later than a bad game at launch.
I'm in the same situation. I'm so happy they're putting quality above everything else. At the same time I want to play it so bad, I'm not exaggerating if I say this is the game I'm waiting for the most. In any case, keep up the good work GalaxyTrail! ^^
Indeed. I'd much rather get a game worth waiting for than get a complete mess on launch every year, _like some games_ nowadays.

@@eliteteutonicknight1 Especially X-series games (Like X3TC/X3AP on their launch, or X4 Foundations, which was released not so long time ago). They are extremely buggy and almost unplayable on launch (more like "obvious alpha/beta"), but with time and loads and loads of patches (and huge updates), they became a pretty fun and exciting games...
But Freedom Planet 2, as I hope, will be polished, optimized and mostly free of bugs. And, I hope so, not so ridiculously expensive game on launch, as some projects in the same time (you know, what I mean {insert any game company here}).

@@takop4123 in the original Freedom Planet, there's an easter egg where, by holding up during certain cutscenes, you can get an "outtake/blooper" version of the cutscene to play instead. One of these involves the Magister explaining to Lilac how he will "establish a timtams currency exchange program".
(On a side note, Timtams are apparently a specific brand of Australian cookies. I had no idea they were a real thing before my one friend who's half-Australian told me.)

That's a really bangin' soundtrack. This is like a really good 2d platformer RPG with a Sega OST from the 90s/early 2000s. I love it!!
October 2019 and this is still my most anticipated game. Galaxy Trail, take as long as you need to complete this masterpiece. I'll still be here whenever it's done.
I have been a freedom planet fan for as long as i can remember and it has been a blast eversince,so seeing this trailer...COUNT ME IN ON EVERYTHING! Thank you GalaxyTrail for all of your hard work on Freedom Planet 2. I really love the way this dragon has been for over 2 years now.

Oh my god the 32-bit artstyle. After not seeing this for a while it popped up in my recommended again, and all I've gotta say is the amount of work that's gone into this *REALLY* shows! Seriously, I think this'll be another day-one purchase for me.

To me, this game series is one of those hidden gems that I love to go back and play again and again. Can't wait for part 2 to come out soon!

All I can say is.... the wait is starting to look like it was actually worth it.

i'm still sad the original was meant to be five characters playable and it only ended up being 3 (or 4 if you use the beta but one is only in time attack so i don't overly count that).
but the story was still creative and diverse per character and i love the trio of Lilac, Carol and Milla...but i think not enough people appreciate that Freedom Planet 1 was supposed to have Torque and Spade be playable as well...with their own stories...but those cut short due to time restraints. there were obvious parts in the story that even SHOWED where these characters would have their own story...such as: how Spade got the kingdom stone, how Lilac and the others escaped brevon's base (FYI that was Spade who did it...he sabotaged it...but we aren't told this because well...i guess they hoped we would assume this) and also where did Spade go after Lilac and others pursued brevon onto his ship...we were supposed to find out about him and his brother Dail.
and Torque...the story of his was clearly longer too...like we were supposed to see what happened to his captain...but that was cut apparently.
don't get me wrong i love the freedom planet games and really wish more people knew about them...i saw just earlier today some bastard thought Lilac should be more of an assist trophy in Smash than a main character...that is just bullshit
I am truly glad to see that this wasn't just lost to time off screen, so to speak. This truly looks like a lot of work has been put in to it since the last update, and I look forward to seeing more.
I'm glad I follow you guys here, because I nearly forgot this is one of the many games I'm actually hyped to get.

it's 4 months into 2020 and their working on multiple games but no freedom planet 2 updates yet but I'm going to be patient.
I'm really liking how this story is going, I hope the story is as great as the gameplay in the full release

It’s so great to see and hear from these great characters again. I really hope we get animated shorts or something to really get to know the characters more. It’s also a great way to pass the time while we wait for the game. Very excited.

Finally! Man this has shaped up really well, I'm glad you've delayed release it looks so polished.
God I cannot wait for this game to release! The first one was an amazing time and I loved every second of it, and I'm really hoping that Freedom Planet 2 will hook me even more than 1, and from the looks of things, the sequel is oozing with even more charm and just amazement. The new, lankier, semi-realistic style is a bit weird but it looks cool enough.
Keep on going GalaxyTrail, I know that you all will be able to pull through with this!
