My girls joined American Heritage Girls this year and LOVE it!!! It is an anchor for their character development and for establishing those important friendship bonds. We are in the North East, so there are very few Troops (3 in our whole state!). We are also in a co-op but that group is secular.
Hi Brittany! I just want to say I've been watching since the beginning of your homeschool journey and I absolutely love your videos. Although I have been homeschooling on and off for over 18 years, I take pride in the fact that I am able to learn from you as well and actually used some of your great ideas with my 2nd and 5th graders. I am a momma of eight and I work full time so I easily get burned out, but I appreciate you and Keep being awesome!!!!
Thanks for another great video! And yes please to how you plan out an Oak Meadow week. I’m a little overwhelmed with how to schedule the weekly overview.
Great to see your homeschool picks. Thanks for sharing! Best wishes for the new homeschool year.
Thank you for this video, I love your picks. Would you mind doing a video on how you schedule out your lessons :) Thank you
yay!! Ive been waiting for this video!!
Thank you for sharing your 7th grade curriculum choices. I also have a rising 7th grader and will need to supplement what she is learning in school. I will be implementing certain selections, I truly appreciate you!
I hope she has a wonderful year! I would love a flip through of the Oak Meadow curriculum❤
Looks like an amazing year. I can’t wait to see your review of Oak Meadow grade 6. I am seriously considering it for my sone for next year.
Thank you for sharing your 7th Grade choices. You have normalized doing two math and I love it. 2023-2024 was our first year in a co-op honestly it feels like it pushes our routine. I signed up so my kids would see the same kids on a weekly basis however I see where our weekly park playdays or fieldtrips could fulfill the same need. We are joining American Heritage girls this year and I am both nervous and excited.
Thats exciting for you to join a co-op! I run one and we are almost on our 4th year. Its definitely a challenge but I love it and the friendships my kid has made has been worth it along with the village and enouragement I have gotten from the other moms. I cant wait to hear what classes your co-op offers. I heard enrichment and Im trying to focus more on those classes for the fall semester for mine.
She'll love Art Lab! My artistic kiddo loves it too. I use it sometimes when I teach Sunday school. 🙃
So happy you found a co-op you all can join in on. I'm still on my search. 🥴
Exited for you all! So fun that she is joining a co-op! 🎉❤
This was fantastic!! Can you share what online creative writing program you’re using and also the psat prep class also? Thanks for all your great videos!!
Thank you for sharing. I would really like to see a flip-through of the oak meadow grade 7 math when you have a chance.
I read Out of the Dust in 7th grade and still remember it pretty well. I also, remember having to do a project on it and presented to the class.
Thank you for sharing, but how do you schedule her curricula throughout the week?
Amazing content!!!!!!
Love R&S.. their math is the best!
I also recommend finding an American Heritage Girls troop. It has helped my introvert 7th grader so much to find friends! We also joined an extra curricular Co-Op last fall and it's been a game changer. Its exactly what we needed!! I hope your girls LOVE it.
How exciting your new co-op journey!
Why am I sooo nervous though lol 😆
@@brittanyolga I don’t blame you it’s a huge shift, I’m still not always used to ours and it’s been 3 years. It’s definitely easy to get overwhelmed and over committed depending how many activities your coop has BUT…. my kids have made great long term friendships and that’s why we stick with it, even if it causes me heartburn some weeks 😅
I would also love more info on the Microsoft office class and creative writing classes! -Megan
Thanks for this! This will be our third year of homeschooling, and I plan to continue with Fix It Grammar. However, I've always wanted to check out Rod and Staff. Do you think it would be too much of a challenge to go right into their 8th-grade year, or should I step back?
If you love OM, I bet you'd love the elementary years. They are so so sweet
Have you looked into OakMeadow for the younger years? Curious what your thoughts are of it since you love it for the middle school years.
I would love oak meadow but its so expensive. Im glad its a good fit for her.
When I looked at the Oak Meadow 7, it didn't really look like it was as connected to the history in the same way 6 was. I'll be interested to see how you find it.
Would love to know what Microsoft class you found. I've been looking for one too for my 7th grader.
Looks like a great year 😄
Is the Microsoft Office workshop local or something you found online? I’ve been looking for something similar.
I love that Oak Meadow decided to work with you and Bri again!!!! But now that you are a experience Oak Meadow momma, do you feel its necessary to buy the teacher's guide?
Would love to see an in depth video about rod and staff and looking forward to the end of year review for oak meadow
I second please there’s not many videos about rod and staff
And also do a lesson video! Please
With the Oak Meadow English it looks like a lot of the literature books are geared toward girls, is there a separate package option geared toward boys that you know of?
Like others, I’d love to know what you’re using for Microsoft Office. And I’d also like to know what books your 6th grader read and enjoyed this year.
Do you run both math programs concurrently?
Also, would you share links to the Microsoft and psat prep elective courses?
I answer all of these questions in my most recent upload !!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Rod and Staff has the best English and grammar.
Do you mind sharing more about the MS Office program you found. I'm interested in incorporating something like that for my rising 7th grader. You picks look amazing! You've got me considering Oak Meadow for next year...
Yes, I’d be interested in this video as well!
Same
Me too!
Me too!!
Yes!
About how long is your daughter's school day using only Oak Meadow?
Can you share where she is going to do the Microsoft Office class? I would love to look at this for my daughter (and me :-))
We are using a website called Typesy for the online Microsoft Office course.
Live your videos
I'm curious why you didn't use Oak Meadow for your first grader.
I would pre read Catherine called Birdy. We started it a few years ago and in the first few chapters I had to stop reading. The main character isn’t a great role model. I was shocked by some of the language she used and the content discussed. Just a heads up.
How do you find co -ops? You are going to be busy!
You can google co-ops in your state and a huge list should come up. And yes I am nervous about that but hopefully it is worth it!!!!😍
In our area there is a Facebook group for homeschoolers in our county, and people post on there about co-ops, activities, events, etc.
@@HeatherAnne10 I haven't been able to find anything we are interested in. I guess our area just doesn't have many co-op groups at this time.
@@homeschoolmaof3 you could always try making your own co-op!
¿Don't you use the grammar in oak meadow? ¿is it not enough?
Is Oak Meadows is religious or faith based?
No, it is secular.
