Hunter Valley Steamfest 2023 Day 2, 30th Of April 2023

On Sunday the 30th of April 2023 the Maitland Hunter Valley Steamfest was on for the second day since 2019 having being cancelled due to COVID-19 in 2020/21/22. As it was the 35th Anniversary they didn't disappoint with The Picnic Train attending with Steam Locomotives 5917 & EX-VIC R766. The Patterson Railmotor Society also joined with CPH Railmotors 1, 3 & 7 and the NSW Rail Museum with Steam Locomotives 6029 & 3801 as well as Diesel Locomotives 4201 & 4501.
In this film you will see all 4 steam locomotives 5917, R766, 6029 & 3801 all taking part in the famous Great Train Race with a couple of Tiger Moth planes all passing a road bridge just before East Maitland Station. Next we chase the steam locomotives and head to various locations on the Hunter Valley line to film them rushing by on their shuttle runs and to conclude this film we end with steam locomotive R766 returning and shunting in Telarah Rail Yards.
