They sell mallets with the hook on the end of the handle.use the hook in the hole in the stakes to pull out.😊😊😊
I had one of those! But, I never thought to use the hook for that. 😏

In SW Ohio we are getting the heat from Hell! "Feels like" temps will be 100-104! I'm putting a bottle of water in the freezer and then in an insulated lunch bag with a freeze pack for my mailman. Will buy more water Fri.
