Great vid. I have worked on the AT&T iPhone 4 many times. I haven't worked on the verizon iPhone 4 yet, but after looking at this, i don't think I'm gonna touch it lol. I've looked at the inside of one before and seen that it was different. i don't think i'll be working on one though. i hope its not that hard to work on the 4S.

So if i were to buy a colored back for my sprint iphone 4s... should i get a verizon backplate or at&t backplate... or should i just wait for a sprint iphone 4s specific part? So basically does the Verizon backplate or At&t backplate fit the iphone 4s (sprint)?????

i changed the wifi antenna on my iphone 4s but when i come to put the back on its like theres something catching and ive had the motherboard and everything out and it still wont go on, any suggestions
lol the sound is the lock button on the top, every iPhone makes that sound. I like to use it as a maraca.

The battery does seem thinner on the iPhone 4S and I think that's because of the dual antennas if I'm correct.
This video explained exactly what I needed to know. I have recently been buying used iphone4 phones to use with the new Lazertag gun, (I ain't sendin my 11 year old outside to kill zombies with my wifes iphone5) and the videos that show how to disassemble the iphone4 show a totally different logic board. Those videos are invariably of the GSM versions, and I was starting to think that everyone was passing iphone4s off as iphone4 on ebay.
It's the autofocus mechanism that makes the noise.

The phone is very old now it's only good for calling and face time but using apps is not very good
The phones I have (Sprint CDMA) have the A4 chip on the main board, thus they are iphone4, but they have the same form factor as the 4s, but with the fattened "grommet" at the seam in the lower right hand side, and with the small battery lead clamp like the one on the left (like mine) and the one in the center, as opposed to the 4s which appears to have 2 screws. Iknow that the 4s battery will not work in the 4 for this reason.

there is no sim card insertion on the verizon iphone? i am trying to unlock my iphone4 to wrk on t mobile. does teh verizon iphone have a sim card insertion inside the iphone?

its the auto focus in the camera make that sound and mine make the same sound
@HAMWI253 I setup my camera differently and thought it was from the other angle... That is why I labeled them on the video...
@mtpflyers If you tap the iPhone on the top, you hear the little rattling. The rattling is from back facking camera. How phone camera focus is by using magnets on two sides in side the camera module. (if u take apart iPhone's camera, you'll see two magnets on either side and camera lens in the middle) Eletromagnet will move the iPhone camera's lens to focus. When you are not using the camera, camera lens will just stay lose, because there not much magnet force.

The rattlin you hear is from the camera's lens. On the iPhone 4 is made differently, and it is not rattling so much. But it is completely okay. Also almost all newer smartphones does the same thing.

@almightycloset I was a little confusing when i mentioned names.. All the carriers phones are exactly the same on the 4s brand. However, you can't buy an AT&T 4s and take it to Verizon and have them activate it. Apple let that tidbit slip after the announcement. Does this answer your question? If not let me know.. Maybe we can chat on twitter..

Great video Mike, I was wondering myself if Apple had changed anything inside the iPhone 4s apart from the obvious ariels, Now you mention it, The battery doe's look slightly thinner compared to the other phones, But could that not be due to the cameras lense playing tricks ?. That vibrate motor looks weird as well,it's round from what I could see ?
Actually there not... in the US there is two different iPhone models GSM (like most of us & CDMA and the CDMA model was made later on for the version carrier as they use CDMA and CDMA does not use a sim so there is not sim card slot in the Verizon (CDMA) model.
and also yes it does has the same look as the 4S with the antenna system :)
If you are changing back plates then you are tacking away the "5 amazing lenses!" doues that make a differance? Getting the 4s next month ;-)
when you shake it, ok tap it ( 4s ) the camera it's doing that sound, because of the contents inside

There is only ONE iPhone 4S! The Verizon one is the CDMA iphone 4, which has antenna bands just like the 4S. The AT&T one is the GSM iPhone 4 which has the antenna bands we are all familiar with. There is only one 4S model which supports both GSM and CDMA. Everyone is trying to be smart saying that there are two 4S's, but they really do not know what they are talking about! :D

the problem is ur tryin black and white versions... many blogs have done comparissons between both colours, and i think white one was thicker...
not to everyone, that thin inox plate on the back it is not glued verry well, anyways i don't mind as long as it has no actual problem

Ivan Limari, this is not a 4S, this is an iPhone 4, just the Verizon modell is different, then the original iPhone 4 some reason.... so there is two i4 and one i4S.

Wow. I like Technology & everything but why did you make this?
I went to Apple because when you tap on the phone it vibrates, or what ever noise it may be. An older iPhone 4 AT&T version is solid no noise, but my sisters iPhone 4 sprint does it. Apple said don't worry. The genius even let me tap his 4s and it does the same. I don't like that at all though....
the iPhone 4s inside has a ball and broken sd card and Chinese batteries and camera is circle. i think
