@@OceeramehS Glad I could help
@Clutch7 I try. Thanks. I hope everyone is enjoying The Last Dance
Thank you
You the real MVP
Salley brought out the best in Phil. Not everyone could make him clarify this many things in a conversation.
Sally is one of the greatest characters not just NBA but in all of sport's. Many teammates said he woulda been a great stand-up comedian or comic writer if not for basketball.
Man do i miss them days in chicago in the 90s. Honestly, i will always be thankful to Phil, Mike, Pip n da boyz for a hek of ride.
It was beautiful wasn't it man? 6 💍💍💍💍💍💍magical ride.
Sal has such natural charisma... and he’s a smooth transitional conversationalist, great talent by both men. It’s always great when an interview reads like a great book. 👍
Who’s here after watching The Last Dance
Who’s not here after the Last Dance. Said no one
I take a dump on that comment.
I'm here, but I haven't watched 1 second of the documentary. I lived it all and watching would remind me of the thorn in my side Mike was for my team all through the 90's.
I am
Whats that
Great interview John Salley. Phil Jackson is the best coach ever and a better person.
Always a pleasure with both of them. Growing up in Chicago during MJs entire Bulls Career..anytime I hear Phil speak it takes me back.
I met Phil Jackson. Actually skipped rocks with him and his daughter on Flathead Lake in Montana. This was in 1992. He was one of the most intriguing people I have ever met.
I had the similar situation with Jerry Jones. Well. I was a cook in Florida. Jerry was with his family. I was told to leave him alone. Chef left i walked out. I asked if he was the famous cowboys owner. He smiled and said yes. I said go bears. Monsters will beat your great franchise this year. He smiled and i told him it was a pleasure. He smiled and took off his ring. It was a super bowl ring. He handed it to me. Smiling he said. I hope next time we meet your team has more then one ring. I smiled and actually showed off his ring. My chef not so happy but realized im a big fan. He let it slde. I lived near Pensacola. Home of emmit smith and roy jones jr.. Still not a fan but he was very nice
Yah same with me and LeBron but that was in my dream
Both of these men are classy and very well spoken.enjoyed this very much.
He was great on best damn sports show. IDK why he isn't on TV he's a great interviewer he can think on his feet he knows alot about sports other than basketball and he's got a hell of a sense of humor
John Sally great interview. You made your guest feel relaxed and the focus was on Phil. He was allowed to speak at length without interruption making the interview interesting.
John Salley
Salley needs to be on TV. He’s a natural talent.
I always love to listen to Jackson talk. It gives peace of mind with tons of knowledge and humor.
Seriously Put Salley on TNT or ESPN. Hes so hilarious.
I've followed John since he was at Georgia Tech. He played with a guy named Craig Neal who is from my hometown of Washington Indiana.
No disrespect to KG but John Salley would be much better in Area21
He got banned from espn for saying penis on air and expressing that he thinks the players should be able to smoke weed
yep
he is canabis businessman
Isaiah thomas wasn't kidding when he said John salley was the funniest guy.
Junhe Su maybe he’s talking about arsenio?
John Salley love your interview/conversation with Phil Jackson, very enlightening! Thank you!
Great interview sally , I’d like to see him do more on national tv ... maybe TNT ... add him to inside the NBA
Dj Boz never happen, he is one of the bad boys. They can only get so famous. Ask Zeke
PJ is a very interesting man. Glad he did this interview. Always love hearing about his philosophies on things and even his book recommendations.
Salley up to task as a sports commentator ...he's well read, articulate n lively ..honestly..I also met him a long beach grand pre, walking towards me; friendly.. Thanks for saying hello ..
John Salley is awesome! I could imagine a great show with him, Kenny and Chuck
John Salley is naturally witty...very quick and on point with his jokes.
What an amazing person and coach, love Phil Jackson!
The amazing Phil Jackson!!! I want him to be my coach!
I keep coming across one great Kobe story after another. I'm not even looking for them.
Kobe was a great Man, father, basketball player and role model for kids and adults. RIP: Black Momba. This man will be sorely missed.
Space Ghost wow
He is and neglected
Phil Jackson sounds like a wise dad guy
OMG! John Salley is a natural! He needs his own show on ESPN or something.
Facts.
He and Matt Barnes should be in a show.
He used to host a late night talk show. Then again so did Magic Johnson?
He is, he been naturally funny tho
Oh yeah, I've watched a few of John Salley's last 7 or 8 interviews over the past 2yrs, and he's not only a diamond in the rough ""INTERVIEWER", but is an even kiel and no matter what seems to always have an answer for or a story about, the absolute many celebs he's been lucky to have entertained over his very long, luxurious, and historical NBA career!!!!!
he personally knows he's been lucky to have at his interviews
John Salley is incredible!
great interview.......Phil is not only one of the greatest coaches , but also a mentor and a guru for life
John Sally Is Just Great WOW.! He’s such a Great Interviewer.. Is it Just Me or he’s So Intelligent.?? & I find them very interesting to listen to he should be a coach or on TV somewhere doing games..
Great interview John Salley is a wasted talent. He should be in network TV.
Frank S
I agree Frank.
@Marvin Santana Hes not being offered anything but he will never admit that Trust me if they asked him he would jump on it
@Marvin Santana ??? u dont think he would fit right in with shaq and barkley??? xD it would be straight up EPIC
Salley has been the host of shows, but he hosted shows when cannabis was still majority frowned upon and openly endorsing cannabis caused him jobs.
One Great interview! Prolly watch it like 6 times...
GREAT interview... from the GREAT JOHN SALLEY & PHIL JACKSON.. !!
christopher john Bautista ñ a
He smokes, and talks about weed. They don't like that.... I don't see why not???
John Salley is a class act all the way
I read his name in a song since I heard Isiah Thomas talk about the “John salley” song
Joooohn Salley! 😂😂😂😂 me too!
Love Salley. He should be on NBA TNT or Espn. The guy is great. He is a people’s person and makes you feel better.
PJ sometimes gets over looked when people say superstars win championships and coaching is just a small factor. But how many rings have Shaq, Kobe, Pippen, and MJ won before and after being coached by him? Just one by Shaq with another great HC in Pat Riley. And PJ as their coach won a total of 11 rings together. Which is an amazing feat.
And thirteen altogether?!?! Crazy.
Shaq won with Pat after! Before PJ he had no rings too.
That's a great basketball mind right there. And phil Jackson is on stage also... Kidding.
Greaaaaaatt interview...!
Great interview
Good to see Mr John salley again he used to be on TV a lot he's so funny then for many years I dident see hil it's really good to see hi with sutch goof food advice water and baking soda peas and yams thanks guys good show Mr salley you still look great
Good interview! ✌️
Phil Jackson is the GREATEST COACH EVER and Michael Jordan is THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME. Nobody and I mean nobody will and can ever match what MJ has done. Won 3-peat, 3 finals MVP and 7 scoring titles then retired. He came back then won his second 3-peat, 3 more finals MVPs, and 3 more scoring titles. All in all he won 2 e-peat championships, 6 finals MVP, and 10 scoring titles all with the same team before he retired again from the Bulls for good.. Michael Jeffrey Jordan is the GOAT then, now and forever.
Not quite the full story. He left the Bulls at the end of the 98 season after the championship and went to the Washington Wizards. He played there 5 years and then retired in 2003. In the last 5 years his stats dwindled down and he didn't make the playoffs. That's how he finished his NBA career as a player.
@@geronimopratt7976 that's not quite the full story as well. He went to the Wizards a year after retiring the second time from the Bulls, but he went to be President of basketball operations. The following year he played for the team and only played 60 games because of injury. It is true he did not make the playoffs but he still averaged 20+ points I believe at age 40.
@@aw8357 be that as it may from 2001 to 2003 he definitely played on the Wizards team as a player and didn't make any attributes but pad his stats. Of course he averaged 20 points, he wouldn't pass the ball, in denial that he was still Air Jordan, courtesy of his teammates on the Wizards. Yeah that part, the omitted part. Talking about him being an owner, how have the Hornets ever done under his ownership?
@@geronimopratt7976 being a crappy owner doesn't take away from him being the GOAT. In my opinion he would have been better off not playing for the Wizards but he still had that itch. No one can beat old age.
@@aw8357 but you can't interject him being an owner and president as part of your list of MJ accomplishments and when I state how bad of an owner he was you directly go to that doesn't stop him from being the GOAT! People use stats and accomplishments in bias ways, but if pointed out the mundane moments, superfans get delusional and spin facts to support their worst observations. Going with old age, there were guys that played at 40 that played better than MJ a 40. MJ played never won without Pippen period. Just sad real basketball fans know there's no rings without Pippen. Pippen couldn't do it without MJ. They share that 6 rings GOAT convo, mic drop
John is really tremendous here. Truly.
Salley's a legend, love it.
LOL I died at that Trailblazers joke....
John Salley is the Oprah 2.0 of interviewers. Outstanding job, Salley.
This is gold.
Great interview!
Due! You got sick ass interviewing skellz! I'd love to see more. This was AWESOME and handled very well.
This was a great interview!
Great sit down Question and Answers from Sallet and Jackson.
Two REAL ones
Amazing video 📼.
Not a massive Basketball fan. Watched this because of the Last Dance on Netflix. Phil Jackson is an absolute gent. Great interview by the Spider. Well worth a watch. Go Pistons
John salley said I love you phil talkin bout some thanks 😂
John Sally bad boys
Not NBA fan brilliant interview should win an award
John Salley is good is this interview, not disturbing, put in appropriate jokes here and there
Best coach of all time .
31:01 Phil looked at John and went: "Yeah, you, Detroit Pistons!"
Flow state is a well documented phenomena in bball they call it the zone or i always called catching a rhythm because its like dancing when you let the music take you.....what it is is a heightened state of consciousness in martial arts the call it chi and there are many ways to turn it on one of them is "mindfulness"
Damn, his take on howard was awesome.
Great interview. Big compliment to Derek Fisher for gaining Phil Jackson confidence to make him the head coach of the Knicks. The Noble Eightfold Path are very powerful principle to live by.
Love Salley . Always have. Just a cool dude, funny as shit and insightful.
Amazing!
John Sally does a great interview
Great stuff
yo Phil is definitely an OG and you can tell how used to this kind of banter he is by not responding to that rubbers joke at 14:02
Phil Jackson greatest coach ever!!
Very good. Big guy becomes off as smart as we've heard he was. Sally too had some serious mental chops throughout.
John Salley is a decent interviewer. He should call games too.
Decent...really he could easily be the best today, whether he's doing a political, sports, business show!!!
This guy should be a talk show host. JS killed it.
How is Sally not on National TV, smart, articulate, great interviewer and very funny
PJ is the best coach in NBA history
Haha, I first thought you meant PJ Carlismo...
Paul Evans in all sports history
Wow. John is a very good interviewer.
"i got a ten year subscription to playboy" i'm dead john sally is actually too funny
John Salley is sooo silly & Phil Jackson has a funny personality too great interview
They can fire Paul Pierce, Kendrick Perkins, Jay Williams, Isiah Thomas and put John Salley
FrenSy TV yeah, those guys are just dreadful.
Yes but keep Jay Williams
Anthony Broaddus
Zeke’s basketball knowledge is through the roof.
Phil Jackson Is the best coach in NBA history
Nothing can really tarnish his amazing career, but running the Knicks didn’t help it.
Most people never even paid any attention to the lowly pathetic Knicks. I barely recall Phil being there.
John Salley needs to start a podcast
Miss 80s/90s NBA
Damn this was a great interview ..idk who the interview host is but...great shit
I want to ask John Salley how he managed to be on so many championship teams
He's very good at networking, communication, and recognized great opportunites to join the '96 Bulls and 2000 Lakers. I'm sure Phil was happy to have Salley on the 2000 Lakers since he has a strong relationship with Shaq and understanding of playing in the triangle offense as well as what Phil is doing with the mental parts of the game.
I remember when Komives a guard jumped on Wilt's arms trying to prevent him from scoring. It did not work Wilt picked up Howard and dunked anyway. So strong these guys are not even close...
I know nothing about basketball apart form that Michael Jordan was good and playing NBA jam on the SNES. Been watching the Netflix documentary and I'm really drawn to Phil Jackson. He seems really sound. And he reminds me a lot of my own teams manager, Jurgen Klopp. Two very similar characters.
I know what you mean, same philosophy. coach Jackson is a free spirit , former hippie kind of attitude.
What Netflix documentary ?
@@bluecollarmenproductions In Europe we can see the "ESPN Last Dance" via Netflix.
Is anyone reminded of Arsenio Hall when John Salley is interviewing Phil Jackson? I think I heard somewhere that Salley and Hall were friends. Salley ought to start a podcast because he seems to have a knack for being an engaging host.
How do I do one mind one breath
Phil got it wrong when he said Wilt missed 2 minutes of OT, Wilt missed 8 minutes because he was ejected by the ref with 8 minutes remaining in a game. Wilt averaged 48.5 minutes including OT that year, 61-62. Also 50 points and about 23 rebounds that year. But Bill Russell was MVP, and deserved it too.
P
Miss you so much Always Sir,Alan Jackson,...GOD BLESS your FAMILY u Sir Alan Jackson,.. 👍👍👍👍👍👊👊👊👊👊❤❤❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🤝🤝🤝🤝🤝👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏
Facts
Imagine how crazy of an athlete Wilt was that Phil says he was more athletic than Shaq
Crazy to think he coached 12 years and either won the ring 9 times or got to a game 7 2 of the 3 times he didn't win it all ... but 1 time he got beat in 6 to shaq ...how ironic...Phil's a genius ...
11 rings
11 rings! 6 from MJ23 and 5 from Kobe! LOL
He coached like 20 years
Jackson, The Wild Card.
Kareem is the Greatest of all time!
Very entertaining talk
What does the heckler say at 35:30.
Merlin of the NBA
What's the name Phil Jackson's in this interview?
Every time John makes marijuana statement, he looks at Phil certain way and Phil tries not to give him any reaction. There are many locker room incidents involving marijuana and it only stays in the locker room.
Phil Jackson has done acid. Talking about weed doesn't even amuse him
