- The movie opens in the 9th century with a group of foolhardy Vikings set out to test their fortitude. Only Asa, the daughter of the King, insists her father should stop while they have time because she believes his greed will result in their downfall. But the Viking King doesn't budge, and a ram, to be used as bait, is bought and tied at a distance, and as he waits with his army near a lake, a serpent appears from the water and attacks them.

“The baby murder spaghetti”😂😂😂

@@samcobbins7816 this may be my favorite name that I’ve seen lol “nope rope”
If he would've said "The baby Hitler's extention cord" I would've shat😂😂🤣🤣
Baby death shoe lace
I think the role of men, women, and children in this is quite fascinating. Oso warned her father against his actions while he and the other men wanted to draw out the serpent. She then left a warning for future people. The deceased wife had drawn Oso's warning in her journal - the journal also seemed to contain a lot of important information. Allen (was that his name?) was greedy like Oso's father and wanted to kidnap the baby serpent. He died for this - just as the Vikings had. Elisabeth showed extreme competence as she ended up saving them time after time. When the father returned the baby to the mama serpent, he was spared. A smarter person than I could examine this and gather a deeper meaning, I just thought it was kinda interesting.
Basically, the whole movie is a terrible cliche.
In conclusion supernatural creatures should always be left alone there's a reason why they're not in the open. 😂
Yes what you find in this movie is an inversion of the traditional and real hierarchy. It is women who are impatient, greedy, implosive, selfish and act based on emotion yet this movie inflicts all those things on the men while the women are cast in the rational, heroic role that is the domain of men. Quite the demonic movie really. It's a movie designed to confuse and confound people and warp their judgment into something that is ultimately dysfunctional and anti-civilization. Whoever made this is undoubtedly very evil.
My headcanon regarding the oseberg serpents.
Given their dinosaur-esque faces. They're are actually descendants of theropod dinosaurs that at some point moved and adapted to the ocean and survived the mass extinction, overtime losing their limbs becoming basically that of a serpent or snake. Sometime during prehistory, they began dying out until they became very rare in historic times which lead way to sea serpent sightings and inspired the midgard serpent aka jormungandr as some even inhabited inland in lakes of Scandinavia.
By the present, the only serpents alive lives in seclusion in the lake that contains the island known as the "Eye of Odin" that at some point moved there.
Contrary to what I first thought this movie was pretty good and the monster has a really good design.
"She believes his greed will result in their downfall".. errr, why would a greedy king think hunting a giant snake was the thing to do because he was 'greedy'?? It is more the act of a glory seeking king, not a greedy one?
Greed takes many forms not just gold, silver and cash. Greed for glory is also a problem.
@@TraciPeteyforlife "Greed for glory is also a problem." This is not a correct application of the word greed, otherwise there would be no limit too it... I am greedy for revenge, i am greedy to be more racist, i am greedy to be ambitious.
We did not invent all these other words and phrases for shits and giggles, they all have their place and their purpose.
I promise you, seeking glory is not applicable to greed in any way shape or form... although a greedy person can also be a glory seeker, they are still their own distinct issues, and a display of one in no stretch of the imagination proves the other exists, ... so, hence my original post.
A better word she could have used is 'ambition'
"his ambition will get us all killed"
Because ambition can be motivated by either greed or glory seeking, or even a combination of the two.
@@mystikmind2005 greed is descriphed as : an uncontrolled longing for increase in the acquisition or use of material gain (be it food, money, land, or animate/inanimate possessions); or social value, such as status, or power. so greed for glory ( high renown or honour won by notable achievements. ) could easily be why the king wanted to hunt the snake.

Elizabeth is the true hero here
Actually, tho. I think it's interesting that the smartest characters appeared to be all women. Oso knew her father's greed would lead to disaster and wrote the warning for anyone in the future. The deceased wife has a journal full of info on the topic that appears quite valuable. Elisabeth just doing what needs to be done. Fascinating that the men were all antagonistic except for the one with young children. I think it ties into the idea that the beast is a mother simply protecting her offspring. They didn't mention whether the Vikings had taken one of the young, tho, or if the serpent just wanted some privacy.
You don't find it strange that the only sneaky "bad" people are white male characters, or the woman somehow climbing a vertical cliff wall, and holding her own weight out suspended midair, with zero fear, and somehow miraculously tossing a wieghted hook hundreds of feet?Doesn't make sense..
@@darrylmarbut47 You're absoslutly right. The movie should have taken the logical route as it does with other factors such as the giant serpent from mythology, you absolute buffoon. I know it's hard to catch, but if you pay close attention, you'll realize there are only white people in the video. You must have wracked your brain trying to formulate a situation to get offended over. It's honestly quite sad.
Hahahaha, adding fuel to female delirium.

Elisabeth, the most useful female companion in film history 😂
There were many in 90s films too.
honestly. She never tripped in the movie unlike the other females
Well I would expect Vikings to explored their homeland & surrounding regions

Ancient world for this monster!
Wise man once said, no sense f*king with things you don't understand. Kidnapping their offspring certainly fits that bill.

Name of the film?
Just a fun fact. This person and Alan Wake in Alan Wake 2 has a lot of similarities.
1. Both has the name Alan.
2. Both have long hair and beard.
3. Both's stories revolve around a lake.
The Snake is the Mid guard Serpent
This is the origin story for the basilisk
Its better to leave certain things alone. Else you will pay a heavy price for what you disturb
Where can I stream this?
Nowhere
The movie is called "Gåten Ragnarok" or just Ragnarok in english
Isn't that adult a little small for a world serpent?
yea I was said the same thing cause the world serpent suppose be way bigger then that so I think the real one died and the one we see now it one of it baby or they just didn't have the budge to make it more big
@@SoldierSpiderx i think it’s more likely that the world serpent was inspired by this snake. The viking saw a gigantic snake with no sight of the end of it tail, making it seem like the serpent has no end, the made a legend on a giant serpent that is the length of the world and it just became a story after many generation.
im guessing that its somewhere between Finland and Denmark? 🤔
name of movie
What the movie called
Mom just wanted her kid back, moral of the story: Let nature be.
"daughter of the king"...Vikings had no actual "kings" and "queens". The term king was not used in the same way as it is today, because in the Viking period several "kings" could exist at the same time. A king was simply a leading magnate, who the other magnates regarded as “first among equals".
What's the name of the movie

So this giant “murdering spaghetti noodle” supposed to be the world serpent
Jörmungandr.
Is that jormangjander the world snake
Destiny is cannon in this universe 😂😂
bro looks like thor combined with scammer payback
Such an agonizing cliche when a character exhibits some form of "delusional morality" over something that could simply make them rich and enjoy a comfortable life.
Is the serpent meant to be Jörmungandr?
uhhhhh what does this movie have to do about ragnarok
Moral of the story:- don't kidnap others baby..
Baby noodle! Death shoelace.
If i were them, i would not the secret go buried rather i reveals the creature existence to the world and the place where the creature dwells where will be built with barriers to protect it
And greed will let men leave the serpent alone.
There I thought people are not stupid enough to meddle with natural entities like they show in the movies and then I read your comment🤣.
Why do children in creature feature movies keep on taking eggs that belongs to monsters
Killer noodle 😂😂
I love so hard at the baby murder spaghetti
Soon I saw one of the characters hidden the baby in his bag, I was like yep he going died cause in every movie when a monster have a baby, there a character that would try take the baby back home to get famous and rich and it alway backfired on the character and I glad both shady character got killed and the world serpent it way to small those less the real one died and this one it teenage or most likely the budge was small
It's the titanaboa, cause it's to small for it to be the world serpent.
its the kids fault. shouldnt have taken the egg. :P

Ragnarok (2013)
Title bro
Baby murder spaghettu!
baby murder spaghetti 😂
Jormangander
Jormungandr. But Jormy is not necessarily evil.
hehe jormy
Of course not evil. Fenrir isn't evil either. He did bite off beautiful baldor's hand but can't blame him. They tricked him into getting chained up
He bit Tyr's hand off not Balders which sucked for both not because Tyr lost a hand or because fenrir got chained it was because both of them were friends. Tyr hated that he had to break fenrirs trust and fenrir was betrayed by the only God he thought was his friend
Jormangander goes around earth and is so power full killed thor
😂 Thor Kills it!! And dies from its Poison, in their final battle in Ragnarok.
No thor, no odin, no loki, no asgard, no surtur, no finrir
Call the movie Ragnarok
2:19 ahh yes the great country of Finmark
Yes, don't you know anything...before Finland and Denmark were separate countries, they were one country...Finmark. Then civil war broke out...and the rest is history. 😂

This is just Taken if Liam Neeson was a giant snake
I liked the writing in this movie. Nothing felt out of place and there weren’t any major untold stories or cliffhangers. I also love how Elizabeth is the Knight in Shining Armor in this film as well. We all have our definition of feminism, but Elizabeth is the change the world needs to see. That Women can be Heroes too 👊🏼
Random kid no one paying attention to somehow kidnaps a monster snake and instead of just putting it outside they keep bringing it with them like a trophy. Also why in god's name do they ride a boat and then decide to use the world's worst raft in the lake? Do they not now inflatable boats exist? They brought all those electronics and just decided to ride twigs tied together? The movie creates such a bizarre issue that has no reason existing in the first place. Why did they not properly hook the line while crossing the lake? Did the boy hook the lines for them too? They aren't even loose, they are just straight up not connected to each other.
If they go back with modern technology and weapons they would surely capture the mama serpent and baby serpent
Dont care for the computer voice
